Batman's Gaze

The air in the conference room seemed to freeze again.

"Pocket Dimension..."

Wally's voice was dry, as if it had been sanded.

The Crystal in his hand instantly became heavier than a neutron star, so hot that he almost dropped it.

In the corner, Kara's nails dug deeply into her palms.

She could feel a gaze, cold and sharp, like a surgical scalpel, dissecting her inch by inch.

The gaze came from Batman in the shadows; she didn't need to look to know how much distrust lay beneath that mask.

A sense of humiliation, as if being interrogated as a criminal, welled up inside me.

"Hey, Bruce!" Wally couldn't stand it anymore. He stepped between Kara and that terrifying gaze. "Relax, buddy. Kara just wants to get stronger, she's not wrong."

Batman ignored Wally's banter and stepped out of the shadows, each step seeming to tread on the heartbeats of the crowd.

He didn't look at Wally; his eyes, hidden behind the white goggles, remained fixed on Kara.

"That's no excuse for her to hide all of this."

His voice wasn't loud, but it carried a chill that could penetrate to the bone.

"How dangerous is the Pocket Dimension? I remember it was emphasized in bold red font in Chapter 17, Section 3 of the League Handbook."

Wally felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end; this guy even remembered the chapter numbers of the manual perfectly.

"But..." he tried to argue, "But Thor helped us! His pocket dimension couldn't possibly be a time bomb, could it? If he really wanted to harm us, one slap and we'd all be gone!"

Wally regretted it as soon as he finished speaking.

Batman's cold gaze finally shifted from Kara to him.

Wally felt like he was being stared at by a deep-sea shark, a pure, emotionless predator's gaze.

His incessant chatter instantly shut up; the instinct for survival overwhelmed everything.

He silently raised his hands in a gesture of surrender, then carefully and slowly moved to the conference table and gently placed the Crystal in the center of the table.

"Okay, my bad," he muttered softly, stepping aside.

Batman then turned his gaze to Doctor Fate and Zatanna. "What can you see?"

Zatanna stepped forward, her hands hovering above the Crystal, pale blue magical light swirling around her fingertips. She closed her eyes, carefully sensing its power.

A few seconds later, she opened her eyes, her expression complex. "Pure creative power, without any trace of malice or trap. The seal... is incredibly strong. I've never seen such a perfect energy loop."

Doctor Fate simply watched quietly.

The golden helmet turned towards Batman, and an ancient voice echoed in the conference hall:

"This is a very small dimension, roughly the size of half a Metropolis. It contains only basic ecological cycles—plants, soil, and water. There is no life, no intelligent entities, and no unusual energy sources."

He paused, then added, "The energy that sealed it is far beyond my comprehension. It is extremely stable, with absolutely no possibility of dimensional collapse."

"Unless," Doctor Fate's helmet turned towards the Crystal, "Someone recklessly launches a sustained energy attack on it, powerful enough to destroy an asteroid, there's an extremely small chance it could detonate the spacetime within a radius of tens of kilometers."

Batman remained silent.

A stable, secure, and pure pocket dimension.

It was casually created by Thor...

His brain was working at lightning speed.

This is no longer a simple matter of power; it involves the modification and creation of the fundamental rules of the universe.

If the League's highest threat level hadn't already been taken by the word " Omega," he would have even wanted to immediately create a completely new classification for Thor, independent of all known levels.

An being capable of creating worlds at will, whose good or evil will directly determine the survival of countless universes.

And yet, the Justice League knew almost nothing about this individual.

After all, Marvel Comics can only be used as a reference; they cannot provide him with the most accurate judgment.

Just then, the main door of the conference hall slid open silently.

Superman Clark Kent walked in.

His tall figure brought a touch of sunshine, dispelling the somber atmosphere in the room.

His gaze swept over the Crystal on the table, then looked at his cousin Kara, who looked aggrieved, in the corner, and finally landed on Batman.

" Bruce," he said in a gentle but firm voice, "You don't really need to be so wary."

"My vigilance has kept the League alive to this day," Batman interrupted him abruptly.

"The more dangerous his abilities are, the more uncontrollable they are, Clark." Batman's voice held a hint of weariness, but even more so, an undeniable resolve. "You should know better than I how the ' Justice Lord ' Superman incident in another universe came about."

Clark's expression changed slightly.

That memory remains a thorn in the side of all the League members, especially himself.

That version of himself Lex Luthor Lex the Flash and ultimately ruled the Earth, served as a constant warning to him.

The conference room fell silent once again.

Batman's words struck a nerve with the League's most vulnerable spot.

Just then, a clear and calm female voice suddenly rang out throughout the conference hall through the built-in communication system.

It's Oracle, Barbara Gordon.

Her voice held an unprecedented urgency.

"Something's wrong, Bruce!"

" Thor has gotten himself into big trouble!"
