"So... DC is real?!"
Peter-B stared at Peter-A, completely dumbfounded, with an expression that looked like his worldview had been repeatedly crushed and rubbed into the ground.
"Then wouldn't that mean there's also the Flash? Wonder Woman? Batman?"
"Yeah, right." Peter-A nodded, speaking in a casual tone, " The Flash delivers takeout in Frost City, super efficient. Wonder Woman and Superman are on construction crews, they're strong and work fast. As for Batman... he's in charge of the city's security and surveillance system, better than any artificial intelligence."
"..."
A series of question marks seemed to appear above Peter-B's head.
What the heck? Are you serious?
Instead of saving the world and fighting crime, those comic book superheroes are busy... building infrastructure for the benefit of the people?!
He pointed to himself, somewhat incredulously, and asked, "Then... what about Spider-Man? What's Spider-Man doing in Frost City?"
"Selling hot dogs, huh?" Peter-A replied matter-of-factly. "You have no idea how delicious the Spider Hot Dogs in Frost City are! I think they could be called the best hot dogs in the universe!"
After he said that, he himself felt a little hungry.
"Wait!" Dr. Banner finally couldn't take it anymore. He rubbed his temples and interjected, "Weren't we just discussing reviving Jean's sister? How did we get onto hot dogs?"
"Hot dogs are no good," Morgan wrinkled her little nose in disgust. "Cheeseburgers are the best!"
"..."
Jean Grey stared blankly at the group of people in front of her.
Just minutes ago, she had experienced the devastating news of the death of a loved one, followed by her superpowers going completely out of control and nearly turning the entire island upside down.
And the result?
She was easily subdued by a blond hunk, pinned to the ground like a chick, and then this group of so-called "superheroes" started talking about the employment issues of DC heroes and whether hot dogs were tasty, right in front of her.
Jean Grey felt her expression completely crumbling.
They really don't respect me at all!
The power he had just displayed, enough to destroy a city, was nothing more than child's play to them?
Is she even human?!
Peter-B also snapped out of his daze regarding the absurd career plan. He glanced at Qin, whose expression was becoming increasingly dangerous, and quickly steered the conversation back on track.
"So," he concluded, "The best solution is to take her to Frost City, right? There should be someone there who can resolve her uncontrolled abilities, right?"
"Solve it? Of course we can solve it." Peter-A said, a hint of pride creeping into his voice. "Let me put it this way, even Thanos would have to work the land in Frost City. There are countless powerful beings there."
He pointed to Robert, who hadn't said much, and added, " Bob had an emotional breakdown once in Frost City, and you know what happened after that?"
Upon hearing this, Robert scratched the back of his head somewhat awkwardly. " Peter, this is nothing to brag about."
Peter-A ignored him and continued to Peter-B, "The result was that Wanda directly joined forces with several big shots in the city and suppressed him on the spot, and also sealed the Void within him."
Peter-B's eyes twitched as he listened.
Sentry Robert, a monster who could easily subdue the Hulk with a wave of his hand, was actually "suppressed on the spot" in that city?
What kind of dangerous place is that city?
Jean Grey overheard their conversation. She looked up, her reddish-brown eyes fixed on Peter-A, and said in a hoarse voice, "I'll go with you. Can you guarantee you'll resurrect my sister?"
"That's outside my jurisdiction," Peter-A shook his head. "All I can say is, if you go, you have a sliver of a chance. If you don't go, you have absolutely no chance."
His words were direct, even somewhat cruel, but they were the truth.
Jean Grey fell silent.
She kept her head down, and no one could see her expression; only her clenched fists trembled slightly.
After a long while, she finally raised her head again, gritted her teeth, and said, "Fine, I'll go with you."
She paused, a vengeful glint in her eyes. "But before that, I must kill the director of the Damage Control, and those who killed my sister! You... won't stop me, will you?"
As soon as this question was raised, everyone's attention was focused on Peter-A.
Peter-A lowered his head to think for a moment, then looked up at Peter-B: "You'll have to ask him. This is his universe, and New York City is theoretically under his jurisdiction. Asking me is useless."
He shrugged and continued, "While I personally hope you can resolve this through legal means, judging from your expression, I feel you're neither willing to rely on the law nor listen to my advice. So, the choice is yours, or rather, his."
Instantly, all the pressure fell on Peter-B.
He looked at Jean Grey's face, which seemed to say, "If you don't let me get revenge, I'll take you all down with me," and then at Peter-A beside him, who had a "you figure it out" expression. He felt utterly overwhelmed.
He looked at Peter-A with a pleading expression. "How... how do you usually deal with this kind of situation? Do you... send them to jail?"
"This is the danger level," Peter-A began. "If someone commits a crime out of desperation or under special circumstances, but doesn't actually endanger society or cause mass casualties, I usually just put them up and hang them at the police station entrance."
"What if it's something particularly egregious?" Peter-B pressed.
"The really bad kind..." Peter-A's tone softened, "I usually break their arms and legs."
"What?!" Peter-B was stunned. "Break their arms and legs? You... won't the citizens be afraid of you if you do that?"
"I was scared at first," Peter-A thought for a moment and said, "But later I came to terms with it, or rather, after experiencing more things, it didn't matter anymore."
The superhero profession itself faces all sorts of controversies. Whether to save someone or not, whether to kill someone or not, how to save them or how to kill them—no matter what you do, you'll be caught up in various media storms. I just need to stay true to myself."
He sighed, as if he had remembered something.
"Oh, right, I learned that from Bruce Wayne," he added. "After all, Mr. Stark seems to me... a bit too extreme sometimes."
