The arrival of the Beyonder creature left Wilt feeling somewhat troubled. "This is a problem. I didn't expect this thing to be able to track us."

"Looks like I can't just keep running. I need to find a way to get rid of it."

At that thought, Wilt looked at Trissy beside him. He wanted to make use of her.

Taking advantage of her surprise and confusion, Wilt immediately shifted the blame onto her:

"What kind of curse ritual did you perform here? How did you attract a Beyonder creature like this?"

"Its strength is somewhere between Sequence 6 and Sequence 5. Do you have a death wish?"

Faced with Wilt's accusations, Trissy didn't know what to say for a moment. She was just as confused by the Beyonder creature's arrival:

"That can't be right. I only performed the most basic curse ritual. It couldn't possibly have attracted other Beyonder creatures..."

Wilt pressed his advantage, giving her no room to argue. "If it's not your fault, then what's this thing doing here?"

Just then, the Beyonder creature attacked Wilt and Trissy again, raising the death god's scythe in its hand and swinging it twice.

"Whoosh! Whoosh!"

Two blades of light flew toward Wilt and Trissy, one at each of them.

The octopus's tentacles also reached through the void to their sides once more, wrapping around their bodies.

Wilt hurriedly dove aside to avoid the blade of light. Then he used the ability to manipulate Black Flame that he had stolen from Trissy, forming four balls of Black Flame and sending them at the octopus tentacles.

"Fwoosh! Fwoosh! Fwoosh!" The moment the tentacles touched the Black Flame, they burned to nothing.

But the death god's scythe attacked again the next moment, forcing Wilt to dodge once more.

As he did so, he turned to look at Trissy, who was struggling to evade the octopus tentacles, and suggested, "Let's join forces and kill it!"

"No way!" Trissy refused outright.

"Unless you give me back my Beyonder Ability, don't even think about it!"

Watching the octopus tentacles track her, she gathered frost in both palms, then struck them with one hand.

"Bang!"

"Crack! Crack!"

The octopus tentacles were instantly covered in white frost, then vanished into the air.

"It's the effect of a Beyonder item," Wilt explained as he dodged the attacks.

"It lets me borrow one of your Beyonder Abilities for ten minutes. After that, I won't be able to use it anymore, and your ability will only return on its own the next day."

Trissy breathed a sigh of relief when she heard that. "In that case, I'll be going. You can play with it yourself!"

Trissy's body began to turn transparent. She planned to turn invisible and sneak away.

"Are you sure about that?" Wilt hurriedly used a Hypnotist's ability to plant a psychological suggestion in her mind, stopping her from leaving.

"You probably don't know this Beyonder creature yet. Once it sets its sights on you, it'll hunt you down without end until one of you is dead."

"If you don't kill it now, it'll appear at your side tonight while you're asleep and use that scythe to reap your head."

"Now, do you still want to leave?"

Trissy's body suddenly stopped turning invisible. Although she felt that something wasn't quite right, she really didn't dare take the risk.

If what he said is true, then wouldn't that mean...

Trissy didn't dare think any further.

"It's not weak. Do you have a plan?" Trissy hurriedly asked.

"Yes!" Wilt first gave her some reassurance.

"Cover me in a moment. We'll join forces and kill it!"

Trissy fell silent for a moment before quickly making her decision:

"All right, I agree."

Wilt pulled a short sword from his clothes. "I'm attacking now. Make sure you cover me!"

Wilt immediately charged at the Beyonder creature. As he did, balls of Black Flame appeared around him, blocking any tentacles he couldn't dodge.

On the other side, Trissy saw the Beyonder creature preparing to raise its scythe again. She immediately drew on most of the Spirituality in her body:

"Ice Manipulation!"

Arrows of ice formed from frost appeared around Trissy. Then she waved both hands. "Go!"

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!"

A dense barrage of ice arrows shot toward the Beyonder creature.

"Clink, clink, clink, clink!"

Wherever the ice arrows struck, a layer of frost appeared, whether on the octopus tentacles or the Beyonder creature's body. The creature's body instantly stiffened, and its movements slowed as well.

"Hurry! I can only hold it for four seconds!"

"That's enough!" Wilt waved a hand, sending all the Black Flame forward to clear a path for himself.

"Boom, boom, boom!"

He passed through the Black Flame and came within two meters of the Beyonder creature.

"Buzz!"

Wilt drew on the power of the Sarira inside him, pouring a large amount of Merit into the short sword in his hand. Golden Merit covered the entire blade.

What a great opportunity! Trissy instantly released Ice Manipulation.

The frost on the Beyonder creature suddenly vanished, and it regained its ability to move. The death god's scythe in its hand swung down at Wilt in front of it.

Wilt: !!!

Trissy, you fucking...!

Wilt was certain that if this had nothing to do with Trissy, he'd go to Holy Wind Cathedral, point at the Storm symbol, and curse Leodero!

But even knowing that was no use now.

In the emergency, Wilt endured the expenditure of Spirituality and activated the monocle's demigod-level ability:

"Steal!"

"Click!" The two-meter distance vanished, and Wilt instantly appeared in front of the Beyonder creature, thrusting his short sword into it.

"Pfft!" Although it was clearly only a skeleton, Wilt felt the sword pierce something solid. The next second, golden light burst out in all directions.

"Boom!" The Beyonder creature's upper body exploded.

In the golden light, Wilt saw something strange. It seemed to be a black spider, but its back was covered in densely packed eyes. Its legs were embedded in an octopus's head, which was the lower half of the Beyonder creature he had just seen.

A word instantly surfaced in Wilt's mind: Parasitize!

"Roar!" A soundless roar that seemed to come from another plane rang out in Wilt's mind, bringing his thoughts to an instant halt.

The spider left the octopus's head and lunged at Wilt, preparing to parasitize him as its host.

"Bang!" Without the spider controlling it, the octopus instantly exploded, and a black, ink-like mist rapidly spread through the warehouse.

By the time Wilt came to his senses, the spider was already in front of him.

Damn!

Witte held the short sword in front of him while pouring Merit into his body and covering its surface with it.

The next instant, his whole body radiated golden light, and the black mist dispersed on contact.

"Clang!" The spider slammed into the golden light, unable to advance an inch.

Seeing this, Wilt quickly reached out with his right hand, grabbed the spider, and squeezed hard.

"Bang!"

Empowered by the force of Merit, the spider exploded and turned to ash.

"Cough, cough, cough, cough!" Wilt heard a fit of violent coughing behind him, and a glint flashed in his eyes.

The power of Merit on me can last another minute. Why not take this chance to kill Trissy?

The more Wilt thought about it, the more feasible it seemed. He tightened his grip on the dagger in his hand, preparing to sneak over under cover of the black mist.

But just then, a wave of drowsiness suddenly swept over him. Thanks to the Merit on him, however, Wilt immediately regained his senses.

Dream Infiltration!

Have the Nighthawks arrived?

Wilt instantly abandoned his plan and chose to flee.

He had originally planned to hit Trissy with Mind Deprivation or Mind Breath, but considering how little Spirituality he had left, he could only give up on that idea.

Before leaving through Dream Traversal, however, he still shouted toward the outside:

"Trissy, run! The Nighthawks are here!"

"You're injured and no match for them. If they catch you, you're done for."

"Whoosh!" Wilt vanished from where he stood, leaving Trissy alone in the warehouse, suffering the black mist's erosion.
