Strangely Cut Off from the World
Ever since Snape got his phone, nothing had gone right. The corners of his mouth drooped a few degrees lower every day.
For no other reason than that these people somehow knew everything?!
And why did they tell everyone everything?!
Even his feelings for Lily had nowhere to hide in that group. As a result, Harry had spent several days staring at Snape with his guard up. Harry himself didn't matter; the problem was those eyes that looked like Lily's.
It felt like the person he loved was wary of him, and it was miserable.
It was infuriating. And where had they gotten so many bizarre pictures of him?
Snape scowled at the neatly arranged Snape big-head reaction images: hands tucked into his sleeves, smiling radiantly, looking disdainful, looking fierce, and what on earth was that one with pigtails!!?
They called themselves fans?
What happened to his dignity as Slytherin Head of House?
Bizarre stuff aside, Snape had to admit that some of the pictures were to his liking.
Like the one that said, "Ten thousand points from Gryffindor."
Incidentally, the name of Snape's fan group was...
I'm in a good mood today, ten points from Gryffindor.
Snape himself thought the name was very much to his liking.
[Group owner] always: Seriously, I really want to know who that amazing person who cosplayed Professor Snape last Halloween was. (Haggard)
Acrias Snape: Didn't someone say that friend is in the group too? We can use the process of elimination!
The Blower in Snape's Cloak: (Raises megaphone) Ahem. (Clears throat) Would that peerless, dashing Professor Snape beauty please stop being shy at once!!!
The Blower in Snape's Cloak: And marry-(deep breath) MEEE!!!!! (Voice cracks)
Professor Snape's Dog: That cosplay really looked so much like him!! Absolutely the perfect substitute for me!!
During the Christmas holidays, Snape opened the group chat again and, unsurprisingly, saw these people going wild once more. And thanks to those Weasley brothers, he had been seen by this bunch back then.
And they were actually still trying to find out which person in the group was him.
Snape scowled. He should have taken more points from Gryffindor back then.
[Admin] Professor Snape Is Mine: Seriously! Today we're continuing our discussion of which lurking legend was the cosplayer we saw that day!
Snape's Runaway Paper Crane: Woohoo!!
Mengsi Snape: I want to add them as a friend, aahhh!
Why are you all so determined to find me anyway!
Snape was utterly speechless. Didn't they have anything else to do? Didn't they have homework?
The more Snape read, the more his head hurt. After saving the reaction images about taking points from Gryffindor, he turned off his phone. They shouldn't think he hadn't noticed the Weasley twins lurking in there too!
It looked like they had too much time on their hands. Scowling, Snape decided to assign them two more essays.
Having made that decision, he felt considerably better.
Then he reopened his phone and began reading Snape and Lily fanfiction. He had to admit that these people did have good taste.
[Admin] Professor Snape Is Mine: Guys! It's Christmas! I'm picking a few lucky people to get a book, hehe. I found them at a convention a few days ago, and the creator even gave me an extra copy!!
[Admin] Professor Snape Is Mine: Anyone want one? It's a Snape fan art collection!
Acrias Snape: ! Me! I want one!
Severus's Dog: I want one too!!!
A convention? What is that?
Snape frowned in puzzlement. Their lives seemed so full, nothing like those of people in this era. So was this really technology from the future?
Were their affairs actually common knowledge in the future?
As he thought about it, Snape gradually felt a pain in his stomach.
The future was truly unimaginable.
For now, it still came back to that one question: who had sent this thing, and why could it cross time and space? If it really came from the future, could he also travel to an even earlier time?
Snape considered many possibilities.
But he dismissed them one by one. What did the past have to do with who he was now?
With that thought, Snape continued reading the group chat history.
[Group owner] always: Hehe, look at the new fanbook I bought: "The History of Professor Snape's Secret Crush."
Snape himself, in front of the screen: ...
This group really can't be allowed to exist :)
Christmas passed quickly, and all those who had gone home returned to school that day. As soon as Hermione got back, she asked Harry and Ron how much they had learned about Nicolas Flamel.
Ron, who had completely forgotten, and Harry, who had stopped looking ever since he found the Mirror of Erised, both broke out in a guilty sweat. After exchanging a glance, they brushed her off, saying they were sure to find that sort of thing in no time.
Hermione could tell at a glance that neither of them had looked seriously.
She rolled her eyes, utterly speechless.
"Why did I even count on you?" Hermione sat on the common room sofa, scrolling through her phone. "If I'd known I couldn't rely on you, I'd have just asked them."
Ron sat beside her and immediately felt a little uncomfortable. In a somewhat snide tone, he said, "Then why don't you just ask the group? Don't they know everything?" Hermione looked as though she'd heard an enormous joke.
"Seriously, Ron? We can't rely on other people for everything, understand? If we ask too much, what if they figure out who we really are?" Hermione naturally didn't want her identity to be known. She felt that would make things troublesome.
Ron, on the other hand, didn't see a problem with it. In fact, he rather wanted to reveal his identity outright, but Fred and George had threatened to turn his pillow into a giant spider one night if he dared reveal it so directly.
Just imagining the scene made Ron shudder. How could something as terrifying as spiders exist in the world!!!
Harry actually felt the same way as Ron. "Then... why don't we ask them anyway? Maybe we can get another clue?"
In the main group chat.
Lightless Ming: Holy crap, everyone, go watch that HP fan film made by fans overseas!!! It's amazing, aahhhh!
James-Brand Shampoo: !! I watched it!! The girl playing the lead is so pretty!
The Blood Pact Stolen by a Niffler: Aahhh, and the lead is from Hufflepuff House!
Considerate Little Badger: !! Link, please!! I want to watch it!
The Black Rose Unattainable to the Three Slytherin Heartthrobs: And, and! That trailer for the movie about young Voldemort! That Tom Riddle is so handsome, he has my heart, sob.
Knowledge Is Power: Ahem, sorry to interrupt, but does anyone know Nicolas Flamel?
Lily-Brand Shampoo Exclusively for Snape: ? Why not ask the magic conch~
[Group owner] ?: You can also ask the magic Chocolate Frog lol
Kerun: Nicolas Flamel? The one who studied alchemy?
Knowledge Is Power: Wait, Chocolate Frog? Thanks!
[Group owner] ?: You're welcome~
Bug Ming: ? Was the person who said to ask the magic conch serious? LOL
Wants to Make Friends: What's the magic conch?
Magpie: ? There are still people who don't know the magic conch? It's a reference to a cartoon lol
Proprietress Number Two: Yay, I know, who lives in a pineapple under the sea~
Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes Proprietress: @Wants to Make Friends, hey, I remember you're the guy who said a power bank fell from the sky last time.
[Admin] Holy Crap: I'm still curious how a power bank fell from the sky.
Harry felt his face grow a little warm and hurriedly turned off his phone, no longer looking at the group messages. By then, Hermione and Ron had brought over the Chocolate Frogs they had received for Christmas.
"I remember seeing him on Dumbledore's card..." Hermione said, starting to unwrap the Chocolate Frogs. Ron stared at her in disbelief. "You do know that's just a card." Then he ate all the Chocolate Frogs she unwrapped.
Ah, what a sweet burden.
Harry helped unwrap them while helping to eat them.
Fortunately, they had good luck. Dumbledore finally appeared in the third one Harry unwrapped. Ron patted his stomach and declared that he never wanted to eat chocolate again...
In any case, the Christmas holidays came to an end just like that.
On the last day of the holidays, certain twins who had been absorbed in the group chat were frantically catching up on their Transfiguration, Herbology, and Potions Class homework.
"Damn it, when was this homework assigned?" Fred was practically writing his Transfiguration essay with both hands at once. Beside him, George, who had already finished his Potions Class homework, tugged at his hair as he tried to work out what two different herbs had in common.
"Just shut up and write! If we don't finish tonight, we can wait for Mum to send us a Howler!"
Fred remembered that the people in the group actually had a two-month holiday. "Why can't we celebrate Spring Festival? Damn it."
He was so jealous, damn it!
Fred was envious, but finishing his homework came first. Still, over the past few days, they had learned quite a bit about their fans' customs. For instance, a few days ago, those people had started flooding the group with messages at noon.
They said they were getting ready to see in the new year?
It was another new term, but it didn't stump Fred.
From the group chat, he gathered that seeing in the new year meant midnight on the last day of the year.
But midnight...
Fred glanced at the winter sunshine and the blanket of white snow outside the window. Was this a joke?
Then he learned something new. Good grief, so there was such a thing as time differences?
Double Socket Hole: Guys, I'm ready to see in the new year!
Draco's Runaway Hair: Already holding my Draco
Flirting with Ced in Draco's Arms: Draco on my right and Ced on my left. I couldn't be happier.
Tom Riddle's Sweet Little Wife: Ha, I'll just hide in Tom's arms and quietly watch you all talk nonsense.
Me, the Sandwich Cookie: No one's here? Then I'll hold the twins first.
Bug Ming: Get lost. Fred spent ages explaining that message of yours to me!
Black Magic Fairy Ced: Good grief, are you all drinking without eating again?
Hufflepuff's Great Food Thief: Don't just drink, eat something
Acrias Snape: I'm dying, I'm holding Professor Snape and nobody's fighting me for him, hahaha
Azhi: You've all had quite a bit to drink.
The Bedsheet Beneath Draco: White or red?
[Admin]: ? You think red could get them this drunk? I'm taking Ron first, not chatting with you anymore.
I Lure Ron Away with a Chicken Leg: ? Put him down!
Ron, Let Go of That Hermione and Let Me: No Hermione fans? Great ^0^~ I'll carry my Hermione off in a hundred-meter sprint first.
How to put it? That day, they really saw all the unhinged writing in the world.
Even Cedric said he couldn't take it. His fans were too crazy; they held memorial services for him every day.
The Female Heartbreaker Who Loves Everyone: Hehe, Ced is so handsome, damn it
I Am Cedric's Dog: He's got that special kind of handsome, a delicate-looking heartthrob~
I Am the Impatient King: What's this? Cedric, gonna fuck him (twisted screaming and crawling)!
Ced, sitting in front of the screen, could hardly handle it. These fans were simply too bold, and those strange, shameless comments always managed to make him blush.
But he could also sense that these fans genuinely liked him. Well, perhaps some had started out attracted by his looks, but Cedric was genuinely grateful from the bottom of his heart that they liked him.
It was just...
"My whole life has been spoiled for me..." Cedric sat on his bed, looking somewhat helplessly at the chat history. The Goblet of Fire and the Triwizard Tournament they mentioned seemed to be things that wouldn't happen for another three years. And would he die then?
Cedric made a note of the Triwizard Tournament, but it would be a lie to say he wouldn't take part. Since he would die, that meant he would compete as a representative of Hogwarts and Hufflepuff. If he was chosen, he couldn't possibly run away. It was an honor.
But knowing in advance was a good thing too. He could start preparing now! With some advance preparation, he ought to be able to avoid that ending, right?
Cedric smiled and noticed that everyone in the group was now wishing each other a happy new year. Although he was a little puzzled, after a moment's thought he concluded that it was a holiday where they lived.
So Cedric thought for a moment, opened the input box, and typed carefully.
Cedric: Happy New Year.
Little Badger Stunned by Angst: Happy New Year!
Runaway Niffler: Holy crap, that ID almost made me think Cedric was wishing me a happy new year!
Cedric and Cho Forever: Happy New Year!
Time for a silly little skit-eleven
One day, Harry Potter received a strange package.
It looked like a book.
"What did you buy?" Ron watched Harry open the package.
Harry explained as he unwrapped it, "The group said they were holding a giveaway a couple of days ago. I... thought it looked interesting, so I entered."
"What is this?" Ron was thoroughly puzzled by what Harry had unwrapped.
"'Hermione and Her Two Useless Partners'?"
Hermione, eating: ?
The useless partners → Ron and Harry: ?
Silly little skit-12
In their third year, Professor Lupin, who had only applied for the job because of Sirius, received an unprecedented welcome.
When Lupin stood up on the first day of school, the applause was especially enthusiastic.
Afterward.
Lupin: I didn't expect Hogwarts students to be so enthusiastic these days...
Snape: /wearing a sour face/ Care to guess why?
Lupin: ?
Sirius, who had intended to break in for a look at James's son, came to Harry's common room.
Then he found himself face-to-face with Harry, who was still up late.
Sirius: ?
Harry, caught playing on his phone: ...Holy crap, godfather.
(The skit is OOC; please don't apply it to the main story, thank you /palms pressed together)
