Background and History

Transmigration and the West Town Attack

Ye Nan recently transmigrated from Huaxia to Blue Star, inhabiting the body of a Jiangcheng Middle School student whose martial talent was considered ordinary. His new family was a middle-ranking household in Jiangcheng 1 4 5 26.

After drinking, he accidentally slipped and pinned Wang Lingxi against a wall. The incident became widely known as a deliberate kabedon, despite his recollection that it was an accident. Wang Lingxi declined to pursue the matter, and Director Fu Yuncheng arranged for him to guard the school’s West Town medicine garden temporarily rather than be expelled 1 5 26.

A ferocious beast attack broke out while he was at the garden. Initially too weak to face the beasts, Ye Nan gained the Azure Dragon Divine Body through his system and killed two intermediate first-tier beasts. Discovering that beast kills increased his combat power, he began hunting throughout West Town, rescuing residents and martial artists along the way 2 3 4.

He subsequently entered the nearby catacombs and helped the City Lord’s Mansion forces clear them. During the expedition, his system allowed him to perceive the weakened soul inside Wang Lingxi, though he kept that discovery secret 6 7.

School Challenges and Alchemy

Back at school, Ye Nan confronted Wu Chen rather than wait for retaliation over Wang Lingxi. He endured Wu Chen’s punch without moving, defeated him with one strike, and requested that the encounter remain private. Wu Chen subsequently chose to cultivate a friendship with him 8 9 10.

An alchemy lesson by Wang Pei introduced Ye Nan to medicinal fire and pill refinement. Using his system-derived abilities, he developed a top-grade cyan medicinal flame and refined a grade-one Wild Rage Pill from ingredients intended for inferior pills. His performance attracted Wang Pei’s attention 11 12 13 14.

Ye Nan also agreed to defend Jiangcheng Middle School against Bai Feng in exchange for ferocious beast blood. He defeated Bai Feng with one punch, then used the reward to advance to Intermediate Martial Master 16 17 18.

Recognition in Jiangcheng

The Alchemist Alliance sought Ye Nan’s help refining a fifth-grade intermediate Blood Battle Pill for Wu Kun. His exceptionally high-quality pill prompted the Wu Family to seek his support. Ye Nan used the resulting connection to help resolve his parents’ difficult business negotiations with the family 19 22 23 24 26.

At Ye Sheng’s birthday celebration, senior representatives from Jiangcheng Middle School, the Wu Family, and the Alchemist Alliance attended because of Ye Nan. Their presence overturned his relatives’ perception of him as an unremarkable troublemaker. Ye Ming and Ye Tangxing apologized afterward; Ye Sheng later offered a formal apology as well 25 26 32.

His college entrance examination result of 81,200 combat power publicly established him as a Senior Martial Master. City Lord Sun Wu then recruited him to represent Jiangcheng in a contest against Hailin City over a starstone mine, offering a general-grade body-tempering art as compensation 30 31.

Ye Nan defeated Hailin’s representative Guan Jie using Flowing Light Shadow Steps. When Lü Yunshan proposed an additional alchemy wager, Ye Nan competed again and refined a top-quality Moon-Clearing Pill, securing Jiangcheng’s claim to the wagered mines 35 37.

Genius Training Camp

Selected for the Southeast Province Genius Training Camp alongside Wang Lingxi, Ye Nan traveled to Southeast City. He cleared entrance route nineteen, destroyed a mechanical insect swarm, outpaced Senior Martial Master Ding Yunqiang, and endured the latter’s surprise attack with the Azure Dragon Divine Body. The instructors initially kept the successful candidate’s identity undisclosed 34 37 40 41.

The camp’s challenges soon proved insufficient for him. After training with Blood Gang Stakes and entering the Virtual Secret Realm, he accepted an arrangement to accompany the Black Cloud Martial Arts Hall on a real catacomb extermination mission 43 44 46.

In the Red Ox Mountain Catacombs, Ye Nan dispelled the hall’s concern that he would be a burden. He spearheaded the assault on the deepest area’s beast tide, reached 320,000 combat power, and helped clear the catacombs. He declined to join the hall and returned to the training camp 49 50.

Appearance

  • Youthful appearance: Looks eighteen or nineteen at his introduction 1.
  • Facial features: Sword-like brows, starry eyes, and a face compared to fine jade; the medicine garden staff are struck by his handsomeness 1.
  • Azure Dragon Divine Body: Golden light surrounds him and a long golden dragon coils around his body, giving him the appearance of a golden war god 2 49.

Personality

Ye Nan prefers to conceal his strength rather than advertise it. He asks both Fu Yuncheng and Wu Chen to keep his abilities secret, and repeatedly postpones revealing his exact combat power until the college entrance examination. This discretion does not make him passive: when told Wu Chen intends to confront him, he seeks Wu Chen out first 6 8 9 18.

He pursues advancement pragmatically, negotiating for cultivation resources and choosing challenges that offer useful rewards. His stated ambition is to become Blue Star’s strongest martial artist, with Longqing University serving as a stepping stone toward Dragon Emperor City 12 16 18 19 31.

His strongest attachment to the Ye Family is through his parents. He intervenes in their business difficulties and welcomes influential guests at his grandfather’s birthday because their attendance will strengthen his parents’ position within the family. His relatives’ later apologies matter far less to him than his parents’ well-being 23 24 26 32.
