Practical Alchemy Lessons
Wang Pei visits Jiangcheng Middle School to demonstrate medicine refining. Wu Chen brings Ye Nan to the class, where Wang Pei introduces the ingredients, summons his Medicinal Fire, and successfully produces a Qi Solidifying Pill. Watching this process triggers Ye Nan’s God-Level Comprehension and grants him the Super Alchemy Brain 11 12.
Ye Nan later encounters Wang Pei teaching at the Alchemist Alliance. While Wang Pei refines a Blood Coagulation Pill, Ye Nan takes and refines a Medicinal Fire Pill, obtaining an intensely concentrated cyan flame 12 13.
Recognition of Ye Nan’s Talent
An Alliance staff member brings Wang Pei a first-grade Wild Rage Pill that Ye Nan has made from inferior ingredients. Wang Pei cannot identify the obscure pill and is astonished by the staff member’s account of Ye Nan’s top-tier flame and near-perfect control 14.
He initially suspects Ye Nan is a visiting genius from a larger city. Learning that Ye Nan is local changes his approach: he agrees to provide ingredients and recognizes the requested materials as those for a Spirit Forging Pill. After supplying them, he checks Ye Nan’s registration and realizes he attended the recent school lesson 14.
Wang Pei takes the Wild Rage Pill to Alliance Leader Zhang Yueshan. Machine testing confirms its identity and substandard ingredients, while Wang Pei reports Ye Nan’s age, school, and exceptional Medicinal Fire. Zhang Yueshan decides to test Ye Nan’s abilities and commits the Alliance to nurturing him 15.
Blood Battle Pill Test
Following Zhang Yueshan’s instructions, Wang Pei returns to the school and asks Mao Qiang to find Ye Nan. He invites Ye Nan to attempt a mid-level fifth-grade Blood Battle Pill for Wu Kun, explaining that the Alliance leader wants to assess his skills and that failure will carry no penalty. He also promises any reward within the Alliance’s means if Ye Nan succeeds 18 19.
