That's it for Volume One. It took me a little over ten days to write, with just over thirty chapters in total. It mainly covered the events of the Dragon Ball era.
What I really wanted to write was the romance between Goku and Bulma, but it was my first time writing, and I didn't know how. After realizing the first few chapters weren't very good, I hurried to pick up the pace and get through it.
Honestly, this was my first time writing a novel, and I felt the writing didn't flow very well at the start. It wasn't until I reached the twentieth-something chapter that it gradually began to flow.
The protagonist of this book has a new soul formed from the fusion of a modern person's soul and Goku's, so don't judge him by the original Goku's personality, but don't judge him entirely by the way a modern person thinks, either.
I originally wanted to write a novel for fun and because I was interested in parody, which is why the protagonist was named Yan Ni in his previous life in the first chapter.
If you've played Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle and come across videos by a Bilibili creator named Yan Ni, you should understand.
As I continued writing, since I'd signed a contract, I started taking it seriously.
Anyway, this is my first time writing a novel, so please forgive the parts that aren't very good.
Below are the Power Level settings for the characters who appear. I've changed quite a few of them. After all, the Power Levels were already a mess, and if I didn't change them, the Power Levels in my book would become a mess too.
If you have any suggestions, you can comment in the text. If I think what you say makes sense before the character appears, I'll change it.
This is also a discussion of the original Power Levels, though I'll make some changes in this book. I'll only discuss major characters who were enemies when they appeared and appear relatively often in this book. I won't discuss some who appear less often.
The following are all their Power Levels when they first appear in this book.
Raditz: 1,500.
Nappa: Originally said to be 4,000, but his performance didn't seem like 4,000 by any measure, so I set it at 5,000.
Vegeta: 18,000. For certain reasons, it's 25,000 in this book. As for why, that will be mentioned later.
Frieza: Needless to say, his final form was 120 million in the original. In this book, however, the sense of danger he felt after his brother Cooler died made him train for a while, and his final-form Power Level reached 600 million. His other forms are five times their original Power Levels.
From here on are the original characters' Power Levels in my book. If they haven't been strengthened in this book, these are their Power Levels.
But they might still be strengthened. There's the butterfly effect, after all.
So just take these numbers as a reference and don't take them too seriously.
Android 16: 1.1 billion. The manga clearly stated that Android 16 was as strong as Cell when he appeared for the second time after absorbing over a hundred thousand people.
Android 17: 800 million.
Android 18: 700 million.
Android 19: 350 million.
Android 20: 350 million.
Cell: 500 million after absorbing over ten thousand people when he first appeared; 1.1 billion after absorbing over a hundred thousand; 2 billion in his second form after absorbing Android 17; 5.5 billion in his perfect form; and 8 billion as Super Perfect Cell.
Dabura: 8.5 billion. He could gain the upper hand fighting young adult Gohan as a Super Saiyan 2. Although Son Gohan wasn't as strong as he was when he was younger, he shouldn't have declined too much, so Dabura was slightly weaker than Super Saiyan 2 teen Gohan.
Majin Buu: Fat Buu when he first appeared was 60 billion; Buu in his normal form was 80 billion; Piccolo Buu was 90 billion; Gotenks Buu was 150 billion; and Buuhan was 160 billion. In my setting, even when Buu absorbed someone, their Power Levels couldn't simply be added together. There would always be some loss.
Kid Buu was 50 billion. He had no one else's power and was the most original, most evil, and also the weakest. After all, he had split off a Fat Buu who was weaker than himself.
Oh, right, the earlier setting put Divine Power above 300 billion, but I've changed it to one trillion. That feels a little more reasonable.
