I Saw It
Zhang Hao froze. "Liu Yan! You!!"
Liu Yan hid behind Lin Yang. "Brother Lin! He forced me!"
Zhang Hao pointed at Lin Yang, about to say something else!
The fatty stepped forward and confronted him!
"Shut the fuck up!" The fatty cut him off, slamming the table leg hard against the floor.
"If you don't want to live, then get lost! Say one more fucking word and I'll throw you out to the monsters! You believe me?"
Zhang Hao opened his mouth, then closed it again. In the end, he merely snorted.
He took a few of his lackeys several steps farther down the corridor, leaned back against the railing, and said nothing more.
Lin Yang looked at the people before him. His group had now grown from twenty-four to twenty-six.
He couldn't be bothered with Zhang Hao and his people.
There was no use forcing people to follow him. In extreme circumstances, they might even stab you in the back!
Lin Yang's gaze fell on the elegant woman.
"Your name is Liu Yan?"
"Yes, Brother Lin." She looked utterly pitiful, but Lin Yang knew how to spot a green tea bitch.
He asked, "Why did you follow Zhang Hao in the first place?"
"He had big muscles and a strong build... and he had a few brothers around him. But now, I think you're more capable, Brother Lin!"
Her eyes were soft and liquid. The woman was indeed attractive, but Lin Yang wasn't interested in the slightest. He turned and looked over the twenty-six people before him.
"You need to understand one thing. This is no longer the world you knew. I told you, I can keep you alive."
Lin Yang's voice was as steady as iron.
"But there's one thing: don't get in my way. Anyone who does, I'll kill!"
No one spoke. Silence was their answer!
Just as he was about to make the next arrangements, a scream suddenly rang out from the other end of the corridor!
It came from a girl at the corner of the corridor!
Her body was stiff as a board, one hand raised in the air and pointing straight around the corner. The expression on her face had become completely distorted.
Lin Yang was the first to run over.
Around the corner was a short hallway about ten meters long, with a closed door at the end. A sign on the door read "Equipment room."
The writing had been blurred by water stains. A person lay on the hallway floor.
A man in his forties, wearing dark blue work pants.
His body lay on the floor. Just his body!
His head... was about two meters away from it.
The break was at the neck. It was extremely uneven, as if the head had been torn straight off!
The severed surface faced upward, exposing cross sections of the twisted windpipe, esophagus, and vertebrae.
Blood had flowed from the severed neck, spreading across the floor in an irregular fan. At its deepest, it had already congealed to a dark red, while it was still slowly seeping outward at the edges!
The head had rolled into a corner, face up. Its expression was calm, its eyes half open, as if it were looking at something, or perhaps staring into space.
"Ah!!" Another girl saw it and collapsed to the floor in fright.
"Someone else is dead!" The fatty squeezed through from behind, took one look, and quickly turned his head away. He felt like retching!
This man's death was even more gruesome!
"Fuck, fuck, fuck! How come again... How is he here?"
"Didn't he run downstairs just now?" Shen Cheng's voice trembled a little too. "When did he come back up?"
No one could answer that question.
Lin Yang crouched down and leaned in for a closer look at the severed neck.
The force was enormous! The man's head had been violently torn off! Who on earth did it?
His gaze swept over their surroundings!
"Everyone, group together!!" Lin Yang stood up, his voice taking on an unquestionable edge of cold firmness.
"Don't go off alone, and don't go near any corners. Move back to the middle of the corridor and keep your eyes on the faces of the people around you!"
This time, no one argued or questioned him. Even Zhang Hao's group took a couple of involuntary steps toward the crowd.
Lin Yang's gaze passed over the head, over the half-open eyes on the face in the corner.
But this person had been killed during the day! In other words, Facelings didn't specifically wait until night to kill! They could do it anytime, anywhere!
He turned to face the frightened faces behind him and spoke.
"Everyone, listen up. From now on! No one goes off alone! Don't trust anyone but me!"
His gaze turned to the girl who had found the body. "Tell me, who else did you see here just now?"
The girl with the ponytail stood stunned for quite a while before coming to her senses. "No... I didn't see... No! I saw someone!"
She suddenly froze.
Her fingertip trembled slightly as she pointed toward a person standing there.
The buzz-cut man! The one who had stood guard last night.
