Lin Yang glanced at her, then said coldly.

"Follow the rules. Otherwise, you're out of the group." He added, "The same goes for everyone."

She nodded and crouched down beside Shen Yue. Shen Yue glanced at her without saying anything, then shifted half a body's width to the side, making a little room for her.

"A wise choice."

Bowl Cut saw this and stared at the girl in the short skirt, somewhat stunned.

"Shutong? You're not coming with us?"

The girl shook her head. "I... no."

The fatty was even more pleased with himself now. He fawned over the girl and made a safe spot for her.

Bowl Cut's gaze grew troubled and angry, and he snorted. His eyes gradually shifted from the girl to Lin Yang's group.

"What are you pretending for? Without a prophet, you can just wait to die!"

The fatty came to his senses and looked at the group before turning to Lin Yang.

"Brother Lin, are we really not going with the prophet?"

Lin Yang asked in return, "What makes you think that guy's the prophet?"

The fatty opened his mouth, then glanced again at Liu Yunwei, who was surrounded by admirers.

Liu Yunwei was saying something to the people beside him, gesturing broadly as though describing some grand plan.

The people beside him kept nodding. "Then how does he dare call himself the prophet? Isn't he afraid of dying?"

"He just wants everyone's attention. If you haven't seen how ruthless the Facelings are, you won't know what that identity means."

Lin Yang said.

He spoke so softly that only the fatty heard him.

The fatty froze for a moment and turned to look. The expression on the kid's face really was strange.

It wasn't the gravity of someone forced to step forward and accept his fate, but the excitement of finally having everyone watching him!

He remembered Zhang Lei and the look of enjoyment on his face when women had surrounded him and fawned over him! It was exactly the same as now.

Then Zhang Lei had died. This was the second one.

The real prophet would never reveal himself in front of idiots like these, unless he wanted to die.

The fatty thought for a moment, then asked, "Brother Lin, do you know who the prophet is?"

Lin Yang shook his head. "No. I've never even seen one. Maybe there's no such thing at all."

That gave the fatty something to think about.

The two groups made camp separately.

They were in the same corridor, about twenty meters apart.

Lin Yang's group gathered together, and the fatty brought out the remaining chicken breast and biscuits to share. Each person got a small piece, washing it down with the last half bottle of water they had brought out of the Faceling school.

The girl in the school uniform froze for a moment when she took the half piece of meat Shen Yue handed her, then whispered, "Thank you," so softly that the sound of chewing almost drowned her out.

She took a bite, and her eyes lit up. She had been hungry for too long. The food before her was like a feast of delicacies!

Looking at Bowl Cut and the others huddled together over there, she felt glad about her choice.

Bowl Cut called over, "Shutong, you really aren't coming with us?"

Shutong shook her head. "No."

The fatty asked in surprise, "You know each other?"

Liu Shutong nodded. "He was my high school classmate."

The fatty clicked his tongue. "Young people sure are hotheaded."

Bowl Cut snorted. "What kind of young person isn't hotheaded?"

His group had no food.

They gathered around Liu Yunwei, their mouths and throats dry. Some began licking their lips, while others clutched their stomachs.

Some watched Lin Yang's group eat, their Adam's apples bobbing several times.

Bowl Cut swallowed and turned to Liu Yunwei.

"Yunwei, you're the prophet. Can't you find food? Take us to some!"

Liu Yunwei's eyes flickered.

"I... I can't find any yet. My prophet ability... I can't use it today."

Bowl Cut's expression changed.

He stared at Liu Yunwei's face for several seconds. The fervor in his eyes began to cool, a layer of icy doubt rising in its place.

"You can't use it? How could you not be able to use it? Are you a fraud? You're not the prophet at all."

"I'm not!" Liu Yunwei's voice rose, and the acne scars on his face grew redder with agitation.

"I can find some tomorrow! My ability will refresh tomorrow! I'll definitely find food and water tomorrow! If I were a fraud, why would I step forward? What would I get out of it? They even said the prophet would be in danger!"

That made some sense.

Bowl Cut thought it over and swallowed the rest of his doubts.

His name was Li Xuan, a name he later gave when introducing himself to someone else.

Perhaps because Liu Yunwei was his last hope of getting back at Lin Yang's group, he chose to believe Liu Yunwei despite all the holes in his story.

He patted Liu Yunwei on the shoulder, his tone changing from questioning to reassurance, then from reassurance to a promise.

"All right, I believe you. Tomorrow. Tomorrow you'll take us to find food!"

He turned around and glanced at Lin Yang's group, the mocking smile returning to his face, and called across to them.

"When we find food tomorrow, don't come begging us for help!"

Lin Yang said nothing. No one on his side spoke.

Jiang Yu'an looked at the group over the rim of the cup, as though watching a group of people digging their own graves.

Time crawled by, little by little.

There was no difference between day and night in the yellow room. The incandescent bulbs overhead were always on, the wallpaper was always the same shade of yellow, and the air always carried the same musty smell.

Fortunately, a few of them had watches!

The hands on the watches kept moving until they reached twelve. Then came a new number!

As soon as the time came, Li Xuan shot Lin Yang a smug look, then turned to Liu Yunwei.

"Yunwei, it's time! You can find food now, right?"

Liu Yunwei stood up and rubbed his eyes, pretending to come out of some mysterious state of foresight, and nodded at Li Xuan.

"The prophet's ability really is amazing. I know where it is. Follow me!"

The people around him looked at him with admiration. "That's Brother Wei for you!"

The middle-aged woman glanced at Lin Yang's group and snorted. "Let those bastards starve to death."

Li Xuan followed behind Liu Yunwei. As he passed Lin Yang, he deliberately slowed his pace, raised his head, and spoke in the tone of someone who had already won.

"You can stay here and wait to die. When we find food, don't come begging us for any!" He deliberately glanced at Shutong.

"Shutong, if you want some later, I could make an exception for you."

Shutong lowered her head and said nothing.

The fatty clenched his grip on the table leg. "Get lost!"

Lin Yang watched the group leave and remarked helplessly.

"They've brought this on themselves. They won't live. Throwing away their lives just to save a little face. Humans... really are strange creatures."

But as he watched, he noticed something else. Chen Yu was gone.

"Where's Chen Yu?" Lin Yang frowned and looked around.

The fatty looked from side to side and scratched his head. "He was just here, wasn't he? I didn't notice. Did he go to the toilet?"

"The toilet?" Lin Yang frowned, his expression strange.

Elsewhere.

Li Xuan, Liu Yunwei, and the others walked forward over the soft floor.

"Liu Yunwei, you'd better not be lying to me! If you really are the prophet, I'll call you Brother Wei! If you dare lie to me, I'll show you what my fists look like!"

The yellow-haired man chimed in, "Little fatty, you'd better not be lying, got it?"

Though Liu Yunwei felt guilty and his eyes darted about, he still puffed out his chest. "What good would lying to you do me? I am the prophet! Just make sure you protect me, and I'll take you to find food!"

Hearing this, everyone nodded. Then they surrounded him, and the young woman deliberately moved a little closer, chatting and laughing with Liu Yunwei.

Her eyes curved into crescents, and her expensive skirt and low-cut T-shirt showed off her figure. Liu Yunwei had never in his life had such a top-tier goddess take the initiative to talk to him, and he blushed on the spot!

He felt he had found true love.

But that excitement soon turned to hatred and self-reproach in the face of the fact that he wasn't the prophet.

As time passed, they still found no trace of food, only an endless expanse of yellow corridors. The middle-aged woman grew impatient!

"Hey, little fatty, can you find it or not?"

Seeing everyone's eyes turn toward him,

Liu Yunwei's fingers trembled slightly. Then he said, "I... of course I can find it! I'm going to the toilet first."

He ran alone toward a dark corner, undid his waistband, and began to piss.

The woman who had spoken to him earlier looked at him with contempt. In the end, it turned to worry.

"Is this kid really the prophet? He's not fooling us, is he?"

Li Xuan watched his retreating figure, also somewhat worried. He folded his arms and said, "If he isn't, I'll beat him to death!"

But no sooner had he spoken than he noticed something amiss.

A dark figure was approaching behind Liu Yunwei! It was walking on its feet, limping, yet moving incredibly fast.

Before Liu Yunwei could react, the dark figure reached him from behind.

In an instant, they became entangled!

He didn't even have time to scream!

Splurt!

Yunwei's head fell off... blood splashed all over the wall!
