Recruitment by Mirror Xiaoming

While Xiao Wu was attending Nuoding Academy, Mirror Xiaoming approached her through a lake’s reflection and exposed her identity as a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast. He brought her into the Mirror World to observe Tang Hao speaking with Yu Xiaogang, revealing that Tang Hao regarded her as a future Soul Ring for Tang San 44 45.

Mirror Xiaoming offered her a means of escaping powerful enemies in exchange for becoming a Contract Beast. She accepted, but he disclosed only afterward that the contract made its master’s orders irresistible—even an order to die. Tang Hao subsequently noticed that her Soul Beast presence had vanished, without understanding why 45.

Becoming Wang Xiaoming’s Subordinate

Entrusted with the Ryuki Card Deck, Xiao Wu refused to return it or acknowledge Wang Xiaoming as her master unless he defeated her. He transported them to the Soul Hunting Forest and won their duel, recovering the deck and discovering that she had replaced Dragreder as Ryuki’s Contract Beast 49 50 51.

They agreed that she would call him “master” privately and “brother” publicly. Wang Xiaoming instructed her to remain near Tang San and encourage his attachment without genuinely returning his feelings. Although initially offended, she accepted the arrangement as protection from Tang Hao and a way to retaliate against the father and son 51 52.

Over the following five years, Tang San spent much of his time earning money for her gifts, while Xiao Wu advanced ahead of him in cultivation. She insisted on being his older sister rather than his younger one 61.

Suotuo City and Shrek Academy

In Suotuo City, Xiao Wu openly greeted Wang Xiaoming as her brother and befriended Ning Rongrong and Wang Dong’er. She denied that Tang San was her boyfriend and helped persuade Wang Xiaoming to share the girls’ room at the Rose Hotel 70 71.

She later accompanied the group to the Star Dou Great Forest while Ning Rongrong and Wang Dong’er sought Soul Rings. Although reluctant about the hunt, she welcomed the opportunity to visit her old home 72.

Xiao Wu passed Shrek Academy’s initial entrance test and fought Zhao Wuji alongside the other applicants. Her combination of Teleportation and Mirror Jump allowed her to evade the Soul Saint until the required incense stick burned out 81 83 84 85.

Leaving Shrek and Meeting Her Other Self

Flender later questioned Xiao Wu over Ma Hongjun’s crippling injuries. She denied responsibility and privately suspected that Wang Xiaoming’s mirror counterpart was involved. Ning Rongrong and Tang San defended her, and Ning Rongrong proposed leaving the academy 95 96.

Wang Xiaoming arrived with Ah Rou, the alternate-spacetime counterpart of Xiao Wu’s mother. After defeating Shrek’s teachers and demanding compensation for Xiao Wu and Ning Rongrong’s treatment, he took Xiao Wu and Ah Rou to his residence. Xiao Wu was delighted to leave Tang San and regain a mother’s companionship 96 99.

At the residence, she met Little Xiao Wu, her younger alternate self, whom Wang Xiaoming had brought along with Ah Rou. Their resemblance later caused Ning Rongrong to mistake Little Xiao Wu for Xiao Wu and Wang Xiaoming’s child 99 100 101.

Confrontation with Yu Tianheng

When Yu Tianheng demanded that Heaven Dou Royal Academy’s first team surrender its places, Xiao Wu challenged him despite his level-thirty-nine cultivation. Yu Feng volunteered to support her before Wang Xiaoming arrived and took over the confrontation 133 134.

Personality

Xiao Wu is proud, outspoken, and eager to fight. Her experience as Nuoding Academy’s “boss lady” shapes her belief that authority should belong to whoever has the stronger fist. She challenges Wang Xiaoming to earn her submission and initially dismisses Zhao Wuji as merely a “big black bear,” despite knowing he is a Soul Saint 50 51 83.

Her confidence does not prevent her from fighting tactically. Against Zhao Wuji, she attacks vulnerable points, retreats through mirrors, and waits out the test rather than attempting to overpower him. She also learns to exploit Tang San’s affection, switching quickly between irritation and calculated sweetness 53 84 85.

With Wang Xiaoming, she becomes openly affectionate and playful, though she remains sensitive about publicly calling him her master. Her reunion with Ah Rou reveals a more vulnerable side: overwhelmed by the day’s events, she asks whether seeing her mother again is a dream 51 70 99.
