Background / History

Noble upbringing and awakening

Wang Xiaoming transmigrated into Douluo Continent and was born in Heaven Dou City as a hereditary viscount. Both parents were dead by the beginning of the story, leaving his household under the care of the steward Meng Zhuang. He befriended Ning Rongrong after meeting her at a palace banquet she had slipped away from 1.

His belt-shaped Martial Soul was initially dismissed as trash by the awakening deacon. Wang Xiaoming instead recognized its potential immediately; his subsequent Innate Full Soul Power result attracted the attention of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, the imperial crown prince, and Spirit Hall 2 3 8 9.

Recovering scattered Rider powers

A mysterious magenta camera appeared in his residence and revealed a map of scattered powers across the continent. Following its markers became a continuing objective, beginning with the discovery of the Blay Rouzer in the crown prince's lotus garden 11 15.

Power / Object Documented development
Blade / Blay Rouzer Finds the sword at the crown prince's residence, later transforms into Blade, and eventually unlocks Jack Form using cards associated with his second and third rings 15 19 105.
Kabuto-related power Encounters the Kabuto Zecter but initially fails to photograph it because of its speed. Later uses red armor, acceleration, and the Kunai Sword against Evil Soul Masters 19 35.
Ryuki Tracks down the deck Mirror Xiaoming gave Xiao Wu. Photographing it converts it into a Rider card, but his resulting Ryuki form is unexpectedly pink 49 51.
Suspected Faiz device Finds an old flip phone in Flender's antique shop and suspects it is Faiz's transformation device; the supplied passage does not confirm that identification 65.
Kiva Has recovered the Power of Kiva by the conclusion of his Wind Salt City journey 127.

Arena debut and academy enrollment

Wang Xiaoming helped Ye Lingling escape street thugs by calling the patrol guards and invoking his authority as a viscount. They later registered as the Human-Machine Combination, winning their first duo match without Ye Lingling needing to act 28 32.

At level fourteen, he defeated the level-twenty-nine Black Whirlwind in the Great Soul Arena. He subsequently enrolled at Heaven Dou Royal Academy, choosing it partly because it offered a low-pressure environment in which to build his own team. After joining Dugu Yan's training team, he defeated Luo Sai in one move despite their enormous cultivation gap 30 31 46 56 57 58.

Rescuing Wang Dong'er

While testing the Dimensional Wall's temporal capabilities, Wang Xiaoming arrived at a village massacre nearly thirty years earlier than expected. He killed the attackers and rescued a young girl who identified herself as Bibi Dong. She accompanied him home and became known as Wang Dong'er, his adopted little sister 34 35 38 39.

To test whether he had visited his own past, he carved a barcode into his family's old locust tree. Its absence upon his return led him to suspect that Dong'er came from a parallel world rather than his original timeline 38 39.

Shrek, immortal herbs, and the Dugu family

Wang Xiaoming accompanied Ning Rongrong to Suotuo City and Shrek, initially hoping that life outside her sheltered upbringing would help her mature. When the Shrek teachers later tried to keep her and Xiao Wu there, he intervened against them 64 87 96 98.

He also pursued immortal-herb knowledge and resources. After countering Dugu Bo's poison and providing medicine to prolong the lives of Dugu Bo and his son, he brought him to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. Later, he guarded Dugu Yan as she absorbed the Dragon Blood Crystal, eliminating her poison and bringing her cultivation to level forty 87 91 93 131.

Confrontation with Qian Renxue

Qian Renxue had Snake Lance seal Wang Xiaoming's Soul Power and bring him to a secret chamber, where she revealed her identity beneath the Xue Qinghe disguise. Wang Xiaoming escaped the seal through energy stored in his cards and moved their confrontation to the Sunset Forest 102 103 104 105.

Using Blade Jack Form, he matched her sword in aerial combat, then made her wings and Angel Holy Sword disappear with an Attack Ride. He struck her from the sky but did not deliver the finishing blow she expected 105 106.

Wind Salt City

While seeking the Breaking Clan, Wang Xiaoming became involved in Wind Salt City's Fallen Soul Master crisis. He protected Wang Dong'er, fought alongside Hu Liena and Yan, and used summoned support and Final Form Ride against a Fallen Soul Saint 107 113 120 121 123.

Hu Liena credited him as the battle's greatest contributor: he saved the local Spirit Hall from destruction, killed numerous Fallen Soul Masters, and drove off a Soul Saint while still a Soul Elder 126.

Appearance

  • Childhood: Described as having an adorable face; introduces himself as 1.4 meters tall at six years old 29 35.
  • After the time skips: Has a handsome face and well-developed physique, and wears a fitted black-and-gold outfit 61.
  • Decade transformation: Becomes taller and is covered in magenta armor formed amid illusory cards 30.
  • Other documented forms: Silver-and-pink Ryuki armor, silver-white Blade armor, and gilded Blade Jack Form with golden steel wings 51 57 105.

Personality

Wang Xiaoming prefers comfort, food, and personal freedom to conventional ambition. Although Mirror Xiaoming accuses him of wasting extraordinary power by living lazily, he rejects the idea that he must conquer or unify the continent. He is willing to recruit factions through cooperation or benefits without automatically treating refusal as hostility 13 43 87 107.

He is playful, calculating, and deliberately difficult to read. He teases Ning Rongrong, exploits his noble status when convenient, and acts harmless to conceal his abilities. His claims of social anxiety around Xue Qinghe serve partly to avoid revealing too much to a perceptive political figure 5 7 14 28.

His easygoing manner does not prevent decisive violence. He kills the Evil Soul Masters responsible for a village massacre without hesitation and protects his companions when threatened. He also invests in their growth, from strengthening Ning Rongrong's body to guarding Dugu Yan through a painful transformation 35 41 113 131.

Abilities & Skills

Decadriver: Transformation and Martial Soul Cards

The Decadriver is his belt-shaped primary Martial Soul, allowing Rider transformations and the use of other people's Martial Souls 3.

  • Recognition-based cards: Obtained by spending time with someone and gaining their acknowledgment. Their available Soul Skills update as the original person's level increases 3.
  • Forced Ride: Lets him take control of a Martial Soul without its owner's consent; he demonstrates this on Ning Rongrong before returning her pagoda 3 5.
  • Control limits: Privately judges that control works best against targets no more than ten levels above him. His public claim that it only works on weaker targets once daily is part of his effort to conceal his capabilities 7.
  • Independent use: Can summon Ning Rongrong's Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda while she retains the ability to summon her own 5 6.
  • Healing: Uses Nine Heart Begonia to heal Zhu Zhuqing, Ning Rongrong, and Xiao Wu 86.
  • Transformation protection: Survives a Fallen Soul Saint's attack through what he calls the transformation's “invincibility frames” 120.

Diendriver: Summoned Copies

His second Martial Soul is a heavy, deep-blue gun that works alongside the Decadriver and can summon copies of people he has defeated 11.

  • Obedient puppets: Summons act on his commands; his Ning Rongrong copy can provide support or perform ordinary tasks 12 59.
  • Retained skill access: The Qian Renxue puppet has level-thirty-five strength but can use all seven of her Soul Skills 121.
  • Energy limits: He estimates that using the puppet's Martial Soul Avatar at that level would exhaust it in roughly a second 121.
  • Coordinated formations: Uses multiple puppets together, including Ning Rongrong supplying amplification while Dugu Yan applies her own Soul Skills 134.

Soul Skills

Skill Ring Applications and limits
Charge Slash First; yellow Charges magenta energy into an attack. Can enhance either a sword strike or a punch, though using it without a sword reduces its power 22 23 31.
Defense Vent First; yellow Creates overlapping, two-meter translucent magenta cards. Their rebound effect pulverizes Chen Xin's test projectile and later turns attacks back on Xue Beng's followers 23 47.
Transcendent Limit Release Second; purple Raises strength and speed by one hundred percent for ten seconds. Can be combined with Charge Slash 94.
Hidden Escape Third; black Splits his body into light and shadow to evade an attack, then conceals his presence in an invisible state. Doubles his attributes while hidden; the enhancement ends when he attacks 74.

Dimensional Wall

A spatial ability that becomes consciously available after his early arena matches and later proves capable of temporal or interworld travel 33 34 38.

  • Transportation: Moves himself and companions between distant locations 49 105 128.
  • Attack redirection: Sends incoming attacks through one wall and out through another 36 105.
  • Battlefield removal: Drops Boss Tu into the square before the Pope's Hall rather than trying to overpower his defenses directly 37.
  • Precision limits: Initially relies on intuition and reaches an unintended location while attempting to visit Spirit City 34 40.
  • Uncertain temporal mechanics: A night and morning away correspond to only four or five minutes at home; he cannot immediately determine whether this reflects different time flow or his chosen return point 38.

Spiritual Power and Acupoint Sealing

He trains Spiritual Power to improve the Dimensional Wall's positioning and his awareness of nearby spaces 40 42.

  • Focused perception: Narrowing his Spiritual Power into a thinner beam improves detail at the expense of coverage 40.
  • Acupoint Sealing: Uses Old Ye's technique to strike twenty-six acupoints and meridians in one second, interrupting Qian Renxue's Soul Power circulation 76.
  • Limitation: Acupoint Sealing disrupts energy flow but does not itself end Martial Soul Possession 76.

Blade Jack Form

Combines the vulture and goat cards gained through his second and third rings into a golden form card 105.

  • Enhanced armor: Further increases his attributes beyond Blade's base armor 105.
  • Orichalcum Wings: Grants combat-capable flight 105.
  • Evolved Blay Rouzer: Can reinforce the blade with the armored rhinoceros card 105.
  • Martial Soul interference: Uses an Attack Ride to remove Qian Renxue's wings and Angel Holy Sword during their duel 105.

Final Form Ride

Transforms a companion into a weapon and combines their power with his own, producing an effect compared to a Martial Soul Fusion Skill 123.

  • Death Spider Emperor Halberd: Transforms Wang Dong'er into a five-meter halberd 123.
  • Combat result: Pierces the Fallen Soul Saint's Martial Soul Avatar and inflicts catastrophic bodily damage 123.
  • Limit: The enemy survives despite the destruction of the right half of his body 123.

Stored Card Energy

Stores a separate reserve of Soul Power in each Soul Skill card, sufficient to activate that skill 104.

  • Activates a skill despite Snake Lance's Soul Power seal 104.
  • Reabsorbs energy from another card to break through the seal and restore access to his transformation 104.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Kunai Sword — Used with accelerated movement against Evil Soul Masters 35 37.

Trivia

  • Despite his card-based powers, his attempts to throw cards fail badly both before and after awakening 2 11.
  • He insists that the Blay Rouzer is a sword, despite its saber-like appearance 22.
  • His first yellow ring demonstrably grants two Soul Skills, contradicting Chen Xin's understanding that such a result requires a hundred-thousand-year ring 22 23.
