Fang Yi originally lived on Blue Star. After leaving work and rewatching the Martial Universe anime, he was sent into its world in an electric-scooter incident described through his own exaggerated account. He became aware of his new life as a baby and was taken in by Ying Xuanzi, who raised him and guided his cultivation 2 15 28.

His biological origins remain unresolved. Ying Xuanzi found a jade token bearing a yin-yang diagram with him, but years of investigation revealed nothing about its source. Fang Yi himself does not know whether he entered a fetus, reincarnated, or occupied an existing body. He distinguishes his transmigration from the local reincarnation system and denies being a reincarnator 9 28.

Raised alongside Ying Huanhuan and Ying Xiaoxiao, he became the Dao Sect’s Young Sect Master while still in the Earth Yuan Realm.
