Ch. 483Assassins, Assassins Again

Sun Fei passed safely through the God and Demon Palace and gained the Heaven-Rending Scar archery technique at the Sixth Warrior's Martial Seat Divine Statue. • The Demonic Moon Assassin proposed following the King of Chambord and exploiting traps to kill him, but a golden-haired boy appeared and said he had come to kill the assassins.
  • Sun Fei crossed the eleventh- and twelfth-level difficulty zones by following the mysterious map and collected twelve Moon Class Dou Qi techniques.

Ch. 487The Decaying Church, Part Two

Sun Fei hurried toward the core of the God and Demon Palace, troubled by a growing sense of urgency, while the Divine Judgment Squad blamed Garcia for the deadly traps along their route. The squad decided to summon Garcia and question him, as Pellegrini wondered why the expert promised by the Pope had not arrived.

  • Garcia asked Pellegrini where Terry had been swallowed after the squad blamed him for the trap.
  • Garcia stood safely on the spot where Terry had vanished, but the accusing divine mage triggered the fissure when he stepped there.

  • Garcia revealed his Half Moon Class strength by manifesting the [Wings of Divine Grace], stunning the squad and frightening Pellegrini.

Ch. 489Black-Robed Holy Temple

After revealing his strength, Garcia told the Divine Judgment Squad that he belonged to the Black-Robed Holy Temple, a disgraced branch of the Church. The squad’s fear and reverence turned to mockery and relief as they recognized his background and recalled the temple’s decline.

  • Garcia healed the divine mage with severed legs enough to save his life, then told the kneeling Divine Judgment Squad that he came from the Black-Robed Holy Temple.
  • A squad member called the temple an abandoned branch, and the knights and Pellegrini stopped treating Garcia with reverence.
  • The chapter recounted how the Black-Robed Holy Temple fell from prominence after Pope Nicholas CXXX and its Son of God vanished, then suffered suppression and defections.
  • The Black-Robed Holy Temple lost its influence, was expelled from the Holy Mountain, and retreated to the Northern Region with only 113 believers.
  • The Divine Judgment Squad decided Garcia’s power could not overcome the stigma attached to his temple and the pope’s hostility toward it.

Ch. 491Getting Closer

The Snow Mountain Hermit and his surviving disciples continued toward the palace’s interior after Fairenton used the Sand of Earth's Wrath to kill two attackers, while a tremendous distant aura unsettled them. Sun Fei reached the thirty-third difficulty zone, then returned to Diablo’s world to level up and activated the portal to the Arcane Sanctuary.

  • Sun Fei reached the thirty-fourth difficulty zone, passed the thirty-third warrior's Martial Seat Divine Statue without touching its inheritance, and continued onward.
  • Sun Fei sensed powerful human auras and arrived at a plaza where experts had fought, leaving blood, severed limbs, and broken weapons scattered across the ground.
  • Sun Fei discovered that the thirty-fourth warrior's statue was missing and an octagonal altar stood in its place, but it was not the God and Demon Altar he sought.
  • Sun Fei counted thirty-one experts gathered in hostile groups, including the Snow Mountain Hermit, Prince Fairenton, Gilano, and the disguised undead magister and Arthur.

Ch. 493The Elemental Gates and Instant Kills

Sun Fei watched powerful experts compete for the eight Elemental Gates, which could bypass the deadly level thirty-five zone and lead to the God and Demon Palace’s core. When Crown Prince Gilano was challenged, he revealed a black staff and instantly killed several opponents, leaving the crowd in stunned silence.

  • Sun Fei observed a blue-haired man and two guards claim a place beneath one of the Elemental Gates after they had killed several experts.
  • Gilano announced that the Saint-Germain Empire would claim a gate, but the gathered experts mocked and threatened him.
  • Sun Fei recognized the altar’s purpose and resolved to secure a place so he could reach the core and purify the corrupted Worldstone.
  • Gilano summoned a black staff and unleashed black-purple flames that erased three or four experts and their equipment.

Ch. 494Powerhouses Emerge One After Another

  • Pellegrini and Garcia led three other Church members through an [Elemental Gate], with Garcia choosing Divine Knight Alan for the party.
  • Two unidentified figures appeared before the fifth Elemental Gate as the crowd grew tense over the remaining places.

Ch. 495Misplaced Arrogance

Sun Fei prepared to claim the final Elemental Gate as powerful newcomers arrived and the remaining experts descended into a deadly fight. Fairenton used the Ajax Empire’s Demigod Dou Weapon, the Sand of Earth’s Wrath, to silence the survivors and secure the last place, while Doni arrogantly challenged anyone to object.

  • Hasselbaink used his power to take Arthur to an Elemental Gate, leaving two gates unclaimed.
  • A white-robed mage arrived at tremendous speed and claimed the southwestern Elemental Gate.
  • An expert tried to seize the last gate, but the crowd attacked and killed him, triggering a chaotic battle.
  • Sun Fei steadily approached the altar and gathered his strength as experts fought for the final place.
  • Fairenton unleashed the Sand of Earth’s Wrath, killing several experts and driving the rest back.
  • Doni boasted that his group would take the last place, while the Snow Mountain Hermit replenished Fairenton’s power.

Ch. 496What the Hell Are You?

Sun Fei challenged Doni for the last place at an Elemental Gate, revealing power that stunned the gathered experts. Fairenton attacked him with the Sand of Earth's Wrath, and Sun Fei met the Demigod Dou Weapon with his Immortal King armor and twin swords, but the impact sent him flying backward.

  • Sun Fei summoned Bul-Kathos' Soul Cage and the twin swords Bul-Kathos' Children to block the weapon, but its impact sent him flying backward.

Ch. 497Showing his might

Sun Fei overcame Fairenton’s Sand of Earth’s Wrath and defeated the prince and his allies with Whirlwind Slash, securing the final place at the Elemental Gate. He left Fairenton, the Snow Mountain Hermit, Murdoch, and Doni pinned beneath hovering swords, with the battle’s outcome decided.

  • Sun Fei regained control after the Sand of Earth’s Wrath struck him and forced the weapon away with his two swords.
  • The experts marveled at Sun Fei’s strength, while Fairenton spat blood from the force rebounding through the weapon.
  • The Snow Mountain Hermit poured his Dou Qi into Fairenton, helping him launch a stronger attack with the Sand of Earth’s Wrath.
  • Sun Fei unleashed Whirlwind Slash, and the paired swords’ runes formed chains around his silver sword-energy dragon.
  • Sun Fei’s attack shattered the weapon’s orange light curtain and left four silver swords poised over Fairenton, the Snow Mountain Hermit, Murdoch, and Doni.

Ch. 498An Unexpected Complication

Sun Fei defeated Fairenton and the Snow Mountain Hermit, but the Ajax sovereign intervened and secured the Hermit's life in exchange for Sun Fei's mercy. Sun Fei claimed the final Elemental Gate, and as the eight winners prepared to open the gates, an old man objected to Zenit occupying two places.

  • Sun Fei defeated Fairenton and the Snow Mountain Hermit, then prepared to kill the Hermit despite Fairenton and Murdoch pleading for mercy.
  • Doni betrayed the Snow Mountain Hermit by blaming him for the earlier incident, leaving the Hermit devastated.
  • The Ajax sovereign stopped Sun Fei's sword and reclaimed the Sand of Earth's Wrath, asking Sun Fei to spare the Hermit; Sun Fei agreed.
  • Sun Fei claimed the last place beneath an Elemental Gate, and the eight gate-holders prepared to power the altar.
  • One of the scrawny old men objected that Zenit occupied two of the eight Elemental Gates and said Sun Fei should not enter.

Ch. 499Provocation

Sun Fei secured places in the Elemental Gates for several aging masters, but a dark, gaunt old man challenged his right to enter and insulted the dead Martial Saint Krasic. Sun Fei prepared to kill the old man, suspecting that the powerful bald giant stood behind him.

  • Sun Fei invited four elderly masters to enter an Elemental Gate with him, and Hasselbaink agreed to admit three more beside himself and the undead dragon.
  • The emperor of Ajax offered places to Fairenton, Murdoch, and another elderly master, while the remaining groups refused to share their gates.
  • The dark, gaunt old man objected to Sun Fei entering and proposed giving his place to the Snow Mountain Hermit.
  • Sun Fei rejected the old man's demand and suspected the bald giant was backing him.
  • The old man insulted Krasic and began preparing to fight, while Sun Fei quietly gathered strength and resolved to kill him.

  • Sun Fei vowed to kill the bald giant, who laughed and identified himself as Kromkamp, Emperor of Eindhoven.
  • Sun Fei warned Kromkamp that Chambord would bring war to Eindhoven and that its cavalry would one day reach the imperial capital.

Ch. 501A Winding Path to a Hidden Paradise

Sun Fei and the other powerhouses activated the Elemental Gates and were transported to the level 36 core area, a lush small world unlike the God and Demon Palace. He found himself there with four companions, while the entrants from the other gates were nowhere nearby.

  • The white-robed mage ordered the powerhouses to activate the Elemental Gates, and Sun Fei and the others infused the pillars with energy.
  • The Elemental Altar activated and transported the powerhouses beneath its eight gates; a man who tried to rush onto the altar was ground to pieces.
  • After the transport, the Snow Mountain Hermit protected Doni and warned him never to make an enemy of Sun Fei, while Doni secretly continued to plot against him.
  • A blond little boy appeared beneath the altar, revealed himself as the undead bone dragon, and vanished after deciding to find a drink before dealing with the Snow Mountain Hermit and Alexander.
  • Sun Fei arrived in a warm, verdant small world with four elderly powerhouses and discovered that no entrants from the other seven gates were within nearly two li.

Ch. 502The Mysterious Core Region

Sun Fei and four elderly experts explored the thirty-sixth difficulty region, where they discovered rare herbs and unusually favorable conditions for cultivation. After warning the group about Kromkamp, Sun Fei left alone to search for the God and Demon Altar.

  • Sun Fei and the four experts found a vast patch of nine-hundred-year-old Dragon Knot Grass, which was still too poisonous to eat.
  • The four elderly experts each gathered a small amount of the immature herb, but Sun Fei left it to grow because he had centuries to wait for it to mature.
  • The group traveled through the region and collected many rare herbs; Lineker found Silvery White Charlie, which could add fifty years to his lifespan.
  • Sun Fei sensed that the region's gentle elemental energies and clear laws made it an ideal place to cultivate.
  • Sun Fei warned the four experts that Kromkamp might target them, advised them to stay cautious, and flew away alone to seek the God and Demon Altar.

Ch. 503Astonishing Sky City

Sun Fei searched the vast space for the God and Demon Altar and discovered a ruined landscape before crossing a hidden barrier to find a magnificent floating city. Touching its wall transported him into a vision of a cataclysmic ancient battle raging around Sky City.

  • Sun Fei was drawn into a vision of a brutal ancient battle at Sky City, where immensely powerful fighters from many races died in vast numbers.

Ch. 504Patrolling the City, a Discovery

Sun Fei explored Sky City in search of the God and Demon Altar and discovered a palace at its summit. After sitting on the stone seat inside its main hall and activating concealed magic arrays, he found himself unable to move his hands.

  • Sun Fei witnessed an ancient battle between powerful beings imprinted on Sky City's walls, then realized it had truly taken place there long ago.
  • Sun Fei flew over the apparently lifeless city, searching its outer districts and central mountain for the God and Demon Altar.
  • Sun Fei reached the summit palace but found no trace of the altar, then felt compelled to enter its main hall.
  • Sun Fei sat on the stone seat and discovered Diablo World magic arrays concealed in its armrests.
  • Sun Fei fed magic power into the arrays, and blue light spread as his hands became fixed to the seat.

Ch. 505The God and Demon Altar Finally Appears

Sun Fei discovered the God and Demon Altar hidden inside a hollow mountain and found the Demon King's Sword, a vast tome of martial and magical knowledge. He placed the corrupted Worldstone in a fitting depression on a broken pillar and moved the pillar to the altar's base, but had not yet figured out how to activate the altar.

  • Sun Fei activated the stone seat's teleportation array and arrived inside the mountain, where he found the God and Demon Altar.
  • Sun Fei examined the altar's nine tiers and eighteen towering statues, then flew to its highest platform.
  • Sun Fei found the Demon King's Sword on a broken pillar and recognized it as a book from the same series as the Demon King's Wisdom.
  • Sun Fei skimmed the Demon King's Sword and discovered it contained extensive cultivation, magic, weapon-forging, and other technical knowledge.
  • Sun Fei stored the book, placed the corrupted Worldstone in the pillar's matching depression, and moved the pillar to the altar's base while trying to determine how to activate it.

Ch. 506Two Broken Pillar Sections

Sun Fei discovered that a broken pillar section had pinned a giant to the ground beneath the God and Demon Altar, and he believed it could help him purify the Worldstone. After leveling up in the Diablo World, he pulled the pillar free and carried it, badly injured, to the altar’s summit.

  • Sun Fei found a giant skeleton pinned beneath the altar by a broken pillar section and recognized its end as matching the pillar atop the altar.
  • Sun Fei failed to pull the pillar free, even after using strength-boosting equipment, and decided to level up in the Diablo World.
  • Sun Fei cleared quests and monsters in the Arcane Sanctuary, fought in Tal Rasha’s Tomb, and reached level 42 by putting his attribute points into Strength.
  • Sun Fei returned to the altar and pulled the pillar section, which extended more than twenty meters underground, free after repeated efforts.
  • Sun Fei carried the enormous pillar up the altar, suffering severe injuries and nearly dropping it, but reached the summit.
