Ch. 3I Am the King?

Sun Fei woke in the body of Alexander, the King of Chambord City, after being struck by an arrow during a siege. As Angela and Jima discussed his recovery, he realized he could understand their strange language and began to suspect he had transmigrated.

  • Sun Fei woke on the battlefield as soldiers shouted that the king had been shot, then passed out after crashing to the ground.
  • Sun Fei regained consciousness in a bedroom and overheard Jima suggest that Angela would benefit if Alexander died; Angela rebuked her and called Alexander her fiancé.
  • Sun Fei saw Angela and Jima beside his bed and learned that he was Alexander, King of Chambord City, who had been hit by an enemy arrow while defending the city.
  • Angela explained that Alexander's helmet had limited his injury and praised him for encouraging the soldiers, while Jima mocked his fear and said he had been knocked off the wall by one arrow.
  • Sun Fei realized he could understand and speak the unfamiliar language, then wondered whether he had transmigrated into Alexander's body.

Ch. 4The Fool Turns Mad

Sun Fei, inhabiting the once-disabled King Alexander, struck back when Gejir bullied him and assaulted Angela and Jima. Gejir revealed himself as a mage and hurled a fireball at Sun Fei, leaving the king in immediate danger.

  • Gejir mocked Alexander, pinched his cheek, and ordered him to visit his guests, so Sun Fei slapped him and cursed him.
  • Gejir charged at Sun Fei, struck Jima aside, and grabbed Angela while boasting that Alexander was unfit to rule or marry her.
  • Sun Fei hit Gejir in the head with a helmet and defended his authority and Angela as the stunned girls watched.
  • Gejir cast a spell and formed a fireball, then dismissed Sun Fei's call for guards.
  • Gejir sent the fireball flying toward Sun Fei's face.

Ch. 5That's for Fucking Shooting at Me

Sun Fei survived Gejir’s fireballs, beat him after Lampard intervened, and learned that Chambord City was under attack. A mysterious game system then transported Sun Fei to Diablo’s Rogue Encampment.

  • Gejir attacked Sun Fei with fireballs, but Lampard appeared and stopped one from hitting Sun Fei and Angela.
  • Lampard spared Gejir after warning him, and Sun Fei slapped and kicked Gejir before he fled the hall.
  • Sun Fei pretended to faint, then reflected on taking over King Alexander’s body and learned that enemy forces were pushing Chambord’s soldiers to their limit.
  • A mysterious voice installed a game system and transported Sun Fei to Diablo’s Rogue Encampment.
  • Sun Fei inspected the rainy, lifelike encampment and realized he had arrived in a real world.

Ch. 6"Barbarian" Sun Fei

Sun Fei found himself in the Diablo world as a level-one barbarian and learned that its NPCs and monsters seemed frighteningly real. After Akara made him accept a quest before answering his questions, he entered the Blood Moor, fought monsters, and reached level five.

  • Sun Fei discovered his barbarian status screen and recognized Warriv in the Rogue Encampment.
  • Sun Fei visited Akara, accepted her quest to clear the evil cave in the Blood Moor, and learned she would not answer his questions until he completed it.
  • Sun Fei left the encampment and entered the Blood Moor, where a mysterious voice warned him about the trial and the consequences of failing the quest.
  • Sun Fei killed monsters for three hours, reached level five, and spent his attribute and skill points on Strength, Vitality, Axe Mastery, and Howl.
  • Sun Fei realized that combat inflicted real pain and that the monsters seemed like living creatures rather than game programs.

Ch. 7Mission Complete

Sun Fei completed the Den of Evil quest after upgrading his equipment and slaughtering its monsters, including the mini-boss Corpsefire. Before he could return to Akara and ask why he had entered this world, the game announced that his daily time limit had expired and began shutting him down.

  • Sun Fei used a Scroll of Town Portal to return to the Rogue Encampment, sold unwanted loot, and bought a great axe, leather armor, potions, and scrolls from Akara.
  • Sun Fei returned to the Blood Moor and entered the Den of Evil, where he fought tougher monsters, including Gargantuan Beasts.
  • Sun Fei killed every monster in the cave, including Corpsefire, and received confirmation that he had completed Akara's quest.
  • Sun Fei collected the loot, found two green items—a mage's staff and a katar—and stored them because his barbarian could not use them.
  • Sun Fei prepared to return to the Rogue Encampment to claim his reward and question Akara, but the game announced his time limit had ended and started shutting down.

Ch. 8A Sudden Surge of Power

After the game forcibly returned Sun Fei to reality, he discovered that he had gained the level-five barbarian’s strength and skills. He armored himself and hurried toward the city’s defenses as the battle outside intensified.

  • A daily game-time limit abruptly ended Sun Fei’s time in Diablo and returned him to the king’s hall.
  • Sun Fei noticed his body had grown stronger and admired his improved appearance in the mirror.
  • Sun Fei tested his strength by cutting through steel armor with a greatsword, then confirmed his barbarian abilities with a giant axe.
  • Sun Fei realized he possessed the level-five barbarian’s strength, axe skills, stamina, attack power, and defense.
  • Sun Fei put on heavy knight’s armor, found two wounded soldiers asleep at the palace gate, and hurried toward the city walls after hearing the battle cries.

Ch. 9Have a Taste of Grandpa's Axe

Chambord City’s defenders fought to keep the black-armored attackers from taking the walls as Pierce destroyed two siege ladders and lost many comrades. As a shadowy one-star warrior prepared to kill the unconscious Pierce, a heavily armored figure charged in to confront him.

  • Brook ordered Pierce to lead soldiers against the siege ladders, and Pierce broke through the enemy formation.
  • Pierce destroyed the first ladder and then knocked the second one down, killing many attackers as they climbed.
  • A shadowy one-star warrior killed Bande, Good, Ptolemy, and other defenders, but Pierce let himself be stabbed so he could topple the second ladder before collapsing.
  • The shadow took a sword and moved to kill Pierce, while Brook and Frank Lampard remained pinned down by enemy experts.
  • A fully armored figure threw an enemy soldier at the shadow, then charged him with a giant axe as the shadow prepared to strike.

Ch. 10Unstoppable

Sun Fei killed the One-Star Warrior Twenty with a single axe strike, shocking both armies and prompting the silver-masked commander to halt the siege and change his plans. Sun Fei continued cutting down the attackers and ordered soldiers to take the unconscious Pierce away for treatment.

  • Sun Fei shattered Twenty’s sword and split him in two with a fast, powerful axe strike.
  • The silver-masked commander ordered a night of slaughter if Chambord fell, but changed his plans after learning Twenty had been killed.
  • The commander told Langde to suspend the siege and surround the city, then ordered a surrender offer that still called for Angela and Sun Fei to be killed.
  • Sun Fei cut through the black-armored soldiers and called for Pierce to be carried from the wall for emergency treatment.

Ch. 11Invincible With Me Here

Sun Fei saved Pierce, destroyed the last siege ladder, and used the barbarian skill Howl to terrify the attackers and rally Chambord City's defenders. As the battle swung in the defenders’ favor, Sun Fei confronted a black-clad swordsman and knocked him back with one axe blow.

  • Sun Fei helped soldiers carry the wounded Pierce from the wall, then charged back into the enemy ranks.
  • Sun Fei killed the soldiers guarding the final siege ladder and smashed it into the Zuli River with a blow that broke the battlement.
  • Sun Fei roared and used Howl to make nearby black-armored soldiers flee, while his words inspired Chambord City's defenders to fight harder.
  • Sun Fei reached Brook, diverted the black-clad swordsman’s rapier, and told Brook to command the defenders against the remaining enemies.
  • The black-clad swordsman tried to use agility and evasive attacks against Sun Fei, but Sun Fei struck him with his axe and sent him reeling, spitting blood.

Ch. 12Who Is He?

Sun Fei helped Chambord City's defenders turn back the attackers, then faced the three-star warrior Langde in a dangerous duel. He drove Langde off with a well-timed [Howl] and a punch, leaving the soldiers wondering who the armored warrior was.

  • Sun Fei killed a black-clad attacker who tried to escape, and the enemy army sounded a retreat while the remaining black-armored soldiers surrendered.
  • Sun Fei approached Frank Lampard's fight with Langde, but realized both warriors were far stronger than he was.
  • Langde forced Lampard back and attacked Sun Fei with Explosive Flame Slash; Sun Fei met the strike with his axe and was wounded by the clash.
  • Langde charged Sun Fei again, and Sun Fei let the sword pierce his shoulder before using [Howl] to disrupt Langde and knock him off the wall with a punch.
  • Langde escaped with serious injuries, while the soldiers and Lampard looked at Sun Fei with admiration and wondered who he was.

Ch. 13Long Live the King

Sun Fei revealed himself as King Alexander after helping defend Chambord City, and the soldiers celebrated him. When Angela arrived worried about his safety, Sun Fei refused to leave and vowed to stay with his soldiers until they drove the enemy back.

  • Sun Fei removed his helmet and shocked the soldiers by revealing that he was King Alexander.
  • The soldiers erupted into cheers for Alexander and Chambord City, and Sun Fei led them in taunting the enemy camp.
  • Angela rushed to the wall after searching for Alexander and found him wounded; he reassured her and shielded her from the battlefield’s grisly sights.
  • Jima scolded Alexander for worrying Angela and coming to the dangerous battlefield, while Sun Fei teased her.
  • Angela tried to take Alexander back to the palace, but he reminded her that she had asked him to be a brave king and vowed to remain with his soldiers.

Ch. 14The Wounded Soldiers' Infirmary

After Chambord’s soldiers hailed Alexander as a hero, he went to the city infirmary and saw how poorly the wounded were being treated. He thanked them for defending Chambord and reached the badly injured Pierce, where he realized the physicians could do little to save him.

  • Frank Lampard allowed Alexander to remain on the ramparts, praised his actions, and left while concealing that he was injured.
  • Brook asked Alexander to help Pierce, and Alexander went to the infirmary after reassuring Angela and Jima.
  • Brook recounted the battle to Angela and Jima, who were astonished by Alexander’s deeds.
  • Alexander found hundreds of wounded soldiers in the filthy infirmary and bowed to thank them for protecting Chambord City.
  • Alexander examined Pierce’s severe shoulder wound and saw that the physicians’ basic treatment was failing.

Ch. 15Saving the Wounded Soldiers?

Sun Fei stopped the physicians from ending Pierce’s suffering and promised to try to save him, then arranged to move the wounded soldiers to the palace courtyard. He left Brook to organize the transfer and prepared to take responsibility for their treatment.

  • The physician told Sun Fei that Pierce’s injuries were nearly impossible to heal, and Sun Fei stopped the execution just before the hammer fell.
  • Pierce woke briefly, asked Sun Fei to provide bread for his daughter Louise, and struggled in anger when Sun Fei provoked him about being afraid of pain.
  • Sun Fei told Pierce to hang on for his daughter and left the treatment center to seek a way to save him.
  • Brook, Angela, and Jima told Sun Fei that the chapel was sealed and Herald Bazel’s residence was inconvenient as places to treat the wounded.
  • Jima suggested using the palace’s front courtyard, and Sun Fei ordered Brook to move the wounded there and instructed physicians to do everything they could to keep them alive.

Ch. 16A Heaven-Defying Discovery

After defeating the attackers, Sun Fei tried to enter the Diablo World to find healing items for the wounded soldiers. He discovered he could create and play other character classes, then entered the game as a Sorceress, leaving open whether he could bring her abilities into reality.

  • Sun Fei distributed food, clothing, blankets, and valuables to the wounded soldiers, while Brook handled Chambord City's defenses.
  • Sun Fei examined his injuries and concluded that his Barbarian's defense had protected him from Langde's attack.
  • Sun Fei entered the Diablo World hoping to find Healing Potions for Pierce and the other wounded soldiers.
  • Sun Fei found the character-selection screen and realized he could create characters from other classes.
  • Sun Fei selected the Sorceress, entered the Rogue Encampment, and confirmed that his character retained Alexander's male appearance.
  • Sun Fei accepted Akara's Den of Evil quest and left Warriv's attempted conversation unanswered.

Ch. 17Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle

Sun Fei returned to the Rogue Encampment, improved his Axe Mastery, and traded rare equipment to Akara for answers. Akara told him he had come by the will of the gods and that she did not know whether adventurers could still be resurrected.

  • Sun Fei left the mage character, entered the game as his level-five barbarian, and used the portal to travel from the Den of Evil to the Rogue Encampment.
  • Sun Fei received a skill point from Sister Akara and assigned it to Axe Mastery.
  • Akara demanded payment for her answers, so Sun Fei offered his Mage's Staff of Deep Blue and Concealed Katar in exchange for five questions.
  • Sun Fei asked why he had come to this world, and Akara said the gods had willed it because the world needed him.
  • Sun Fei asked whether he could be resurrected after dying, and Akara said she did not know because no adventurers had appeared for fifty or sixty years.

Ch. 18More Equipment Dropped

Sun Fei questioned Akara about leaving the Diablo World, learned that his stay depended on spiritual power, then accepted Kashya’s quest to kill Blood Raven. After repairing his gear and supplies with Charsi, he defeated Blood Raven just before his time ran out and found her corpse surrounded by yellow loot.

  • Sun Fei learned from Akara that he could take items back by paying a price and that his spiritual power limited him to four hours in the Diablo World.
  • Sun Fei accepted Kashya’s quest to eliminate Blood Raven and traveled through the Blood Moor and Cold Plains, reaching level seven along the way.
  • Sun Fei returned to the Rogue Encampment, paid Charsi to repair his equipment, and sold her unwanted gear before returning to the graveyard.
  • Sun Fei defeated Blood Raven after a difficult fight, and lightning enveloped the graveyard as her former Rogue spirit appeared.
  • Sun Fei searched Blood Raven’s corpse and saw yellow equipment glittering on the ground.

Ch. 19[Minor Healing Potion]

Sun Fei exchanged for a Minor Healing Potion in the Diablo World and returned to Chambord, where he found Angela watching over him. He hurried to help the wounded with the potion, arriving in the courtyard as he heard someone crying.

  • Sun Fei exchanged his remaining gold and equipment for one Minor Healing Potion before the game forcibly logged him out.
  • Sun Fei woke in the king's hall, reassured Angela that his shoulder wound had healed, and resolved to make her happy.
  • Jima interrupted Sun Fei and Angela to warn that Pierce was close to death, so Sun Fei retrieved the healing potion.
  • Sun Fei asked Angela to prepare two basins of clean water and followed Jima to the courtyard, where wounded soldiers greeted him as a hero.
  • Sun Fei heard faint crying after making his way through the crowd of wounded soldiers.

Ch. 20The Charlatan's Performance

Sun Fei used Minor Healing Potion to save Pierce and then staged a prayer, claiming his bloodied water could heal the wounded. The crowd watched in shock as the potion quickly healed the cut on his palm.

  • Sun Fei met Brook, Pierce, and Pierce’s daughter Louis, who begged him to save her father and offered to be his lover.
  • Sun Fei gave Pierce two drops of Minor Healing Potion, healing his wounds and waking him.
  • Louis threw herself into Pierce’s arms, and Sun Fei left them to share their reunion.
  • Sun Fei prepared basins of water, secretly mixed in more Minor Healing Potion, and told the gathered people the God of War had empowered it to heal them.
  • Sun Fei cut his palm and dipped it into the water; the potion healed the wound, and the crowd erupted in amazement.

Ch. 21Nonsense (Favorites, Votes)

After healing Chambord City's wounded, Sun Fei surveyed the city's defenses with Brook and explained his transformation as a blessing from the God of War. The chapter left Brook convinced that Alexander's mind had been restored and that his new strength came from divine protection.

  • The people of Chambord City celebrated Sun Fei's supposed connection to the God of War as the wounded recovered after receiving Minor Healing Potion.
  • Sun Fei left the healing work to soldiers and walked with Brook to inspect Chambord City's walls, mountains, river, and stone bridge.
  • Sun Fei asked Brook whether Alexander had truly been a fool, then claimed a blow to the head had cleared his mind.
  • Sun Fei described gaining strength and martial knowledge after waking, and Brook concluded that the God of War had lifted Alexander's curse.

Ch. 22The king and the mountain bandit chief

Sun Fei questioned Brook about Chambord City and the wider Azeroth Continent, learning that his kingdom was a tiny sixth-tier vassal state of the weak Zenit Empire in a world dominated by constant war. He then asked about Chambord’s powerful figures and learned that Bazel had ruled in his place while Petr Čech had been imprisoned for alleged treason.

  • Sun Fei used Brook’s trust to ask about Chambord City and learned that it had fewer than 10,000 people and was a sixth-tier vassal of the Zenit Empire.
  • Brook explained that the Zenit Empire was a weak level-one empire and that constant wars plagued the vast Azeroth Continent.
  • Brook told Sun Fei that the enemy camp had sealed the roads out of Chambord City, preventing the kingdom from requesting help from the Zenit Empire.
  • Sun Fei learned that Bazel had exercised the king’s powers for two or three years, while Frank Lampard controlled the army.
  • Brook named Conca, Oleg, and Petr Čech among Chambord’s powerful figures and revealed that Bazel had imprisoned Čech for alleged treason.

Ch. 23He Is a Beast

Sun Fei learned more about Chambord’s factions, ordered Gejir conscripted, and took the night watch, but he could not enter Diablo because his mental energy was depleted. Across the river, the silver-masked commander questioned Langde about the battle and focused on the armored bull who had appeared.

  • Brook told Sun Fei that Best had left Chambord with palace treasure before the attack, while Conca and Oleg avoided the fighting and Lampard was the city’s strongest warrior.
  • Sun Fei ordered Brook to rest and conscripted Bazel’s mage son Gejir to defend the city; Brook swore loyalty to the king.
  • Sun Fei inspected the defenses, tried and failed to enter Diablo for lack of mental energy, and fell asleep at his post.
  • In the enemy camp, Langde recounted how Sun Fei had injured him and reported Lampard’s apparent hidden injury to the silver-masked man.
  • The silver-masked man showed little interest in Langde’s assessment of Lampard and asked instead about the armored bull who had appeared in battle.

Ch. 24Two Completely Opposing Orders

The silver-masked man ordered his forces to trick Chambord City into surrendering before killing its people, while planning to capture Sun Fei and Angela. Sun Fei woke during his watch to find Angela and Jima asleep on the city wall as dawn approached.

  • Langde described Sun Fei as a ferocious, naturally strong fighter, and the silver-masked man decided he wanted to capture him for the imperial arena.
  • The silver-masked man ordered [One], [Sixteen], [Seventeen], and [Eighteen] to offer Chambord City false terms of surrender, while telling [Two], [Three], [Four], [Five], and [Six] to kill everyone except Angela and Sun Fei if the gates opened.
  • The silver-masked man ordered Langde to kill Chambord City's Three-Star Swordsman and had his forces prepare to move at sunrise.
  • The cloaked mage warned that Chambord City had a hidden Three-Star Mage, and the silver-masked man asked his teacher to eliminate the threat.
  • Sun Fei woke from his night watch and found Angela asleep beside him after she had covered him with a blanket; he tucked it around her and left her undisturbed.
  • Sun Fei noticed Jima dozing beside the collapsed entrance to the tower as the morning breeze stirred her hair and clothes.

Ch. 25The Soldiers with Whip Marks Across Their Faces

Sun Fei comforted Jima and promised himself to protect Angela, then strengthened his bond with Pierce and Brook as dawn approached. When Brook reported that Bazel had whipped two soldiers sent to summon Gejir, Sun Fei was enraged.

  • Sun Fei wrapped his cloak around Jima, and she urged him to treat and protect Angela as Angela had protected Alexander.
  • Sun Fei welcomed Pierce’s apology and accepted his pledge of loyalty after his wounds healed.
  • Brook and Pierce told Sun Fei that the enemy camp’s unusual silence broke with the dawn horn and preparations for battle.
  • Sun Fei put Brook in command of the city’s defense and asked where Gejir was.
  • Brook returned with two soldiers whose faces bore whip marks and reported that Bazel had sent them back, claiming Gejir was injured.
  • Sun Fei grew furious at the sight of the soldiers’ wounds.

Ch. 26The King Has the Final Say

Sun Fei moved to enforce his authority over Chambord City’s nobles as the enemy army assembled across the river. After publicly beating Gejir and rejecting Bazel’s demands, he left Gejir awake and ordered him to fight on the wall.

  • Sun Fei ordered Pierce to bring Gejir to the wall and sent for military magistrate Conca and jailer Oleg, threatening to kill anyone who resisted.
  • Sun Fei asked Angela and Jima to fetch Lampard, then arranged for Angela and Jima to stay with the wounded instead of facing the battle on the wall.
  • Black infantry formations began assembling across the river as Pierce brought the bound Gejir to Sun Fei, accompanied by Bazel.
  • Bazel demanded that Sun Fei explain why Gejir had been seized, but Sun Fei slapped Gejir unconscious and declared that a king owed him no explanation.
  • Bazel apologized and asked to take Gejir home to recover, but Sun Fei ordered a soldier to douse him with cold water and insisted he fight on the wall.
