Life in the Far North

The Snow Empress lived deep within the Far North’s Soul Beast gathering grounds and devoted herself to cultivation. Her strength exceeded that of both the Ice Empress and the 250,000-year Titan Snow Demon King. The latter had once pursued her romantically, but she beat him so severely that he abandoned any open courtship 31.

Her next heavenly tribulation was approaching, with uncertain prospects of survival. Ferocious Beasts faced a tribulation every hundred thousand years, and each successive ordeal became more difficult 36.

Investigating Zhang Yang

The Titan Snow Demon King reported sensing an ancient Auspicious Beast’s presence mixed with a human scent. The Snow Empress accompanied him and the Ice Empress to investigate, discovering that the source was Zhang Yang. She rejected the theory that he had acquired auspicious Qi by killing the Three-Eyed Golden Lion: such power could not normally transfer to a human 31.

Ordering her companions to wait, she secretly followed Zhang Yang and Zhang Lexuan. She collected the belongings he deliberately discarded and examined their scent, confirming that his Auspicious Aura shared an origin with the Three-Eyed Golden Lion’s. Her concealed presence also deterred Soul Beasts from approaching the pair 31 32.

At an Evil Soul Master’s cave, she discovered wounded Far North Soul Beasts being drained of blood. Her anger briefly disrupted her concealment, allowing Zhang Yang’s system to detect her without locating her precisely. She initially suspected Zhang Yang intended to kill the victims, but watched him destroy the formation and treat them with medicinal pills instead. She secretly protected him when the enemy attempted to take him hostage, while Zhang Lexuan defeated the Soul Emperor 32 33.

Leaving the Far North

The Snow Empress continued observing the pair, approving of their refusal to kill unsuitable Soul Beasts. When the Ice Empress proposed capturing them for questioning, she intervened because of Zhang Yang’s Auspicious Aura 34 35.

Believing that aura might hold the key to her breakthrough, she asked the Ice Empress to find candidates for Zhang Yang’s third Soul Ring. After the Ice Empress returned with several Mental Attribute Soul Beasts, the Snow Empress secretly placed them at the sleeping couple’s cave entrance. Zhang Yang selected an ice-attribute fox and released the others 35 36.

She then decided to follow him beyond the Far North, judging the danger preferable to losing a possible means of surviving her tribulation. The Ice Empress joined her on the condition that she follow the Snow Empress’s lead. After leaving instructions with the Titan Snow Demon King, they caught up with Zhang Yang and continued shadowing him toward Shrek. During the journey, the Snow Empress sensed fluctuations associated with his Law of Devouring and began wondering whether that power could help her survive 36 37.

Personality

The Snow Empress is cool, detached, and generally composed, with a cold yet gentle voice. She reins in the Ice Empress’s aggression and prefers investigation to immediate confrontation when faced with Zhang Yang’s unexplained aura 31 35.

Her protection of Soul Beasts does not amount to opposition to all hunting. She accepts ordinary predation and Soul Ring hunting as part of nature, but becomes genuinely angry at torture and indiscriminate slaughter. Zhang Yang and Zhang Lexuan earn her approval by rescuing wounded beasts and sparing those they do not need 32 33 34.

Although perceptive about elemental power and cultivation, she does not recognize Zhang Yang’s deliberate attempts to increase her favorability. She notices her growing attraction but attributes it to his auspicious nature rather than Max-Level Charm. Her willingness to leave her home reflects a pragmatic determination to survive her approaching tribulation 33 36.
