Personality

The Ice Empress is mischievous and playful despite her position among the Far North’s rulers. She joins Beiming Yuan in causing trouble among the region’s Soul Beasts, then becomes embarrassed when he points out her involvement. The Snow Empress serves as the disciplinarian for both of them 2.

Her proud manner softens around those she loves. She is particularly obedient to the Snow Empress and later accepts Beiming Yuan’s authority through both their familial bond and his position as the Ice God’s inheritor. Her impulsive offer to become his Second Martial Soul shows her willingness to help him, though both he and the Snow Empress firmly reject it 3 4.

Unlike the reserved Snow Empress, she enjoys exploring human cities and sampling their food. She eagerly welcomes Beiming Yuan’s plan to visit a Soul Master Academy and “stir things up” 33.

Background / History

Raising the Ice God’s Inheritor

Already possessing nearly 400,000 years of cultivation, the Ice Empress was traveling to visit the Snow Empress when she sensed the Ancient Ice God’s presence. She hurried to the palace and found that the presence came from a human baby who had fallen from the sky. Because of his connection to their deity, the two Empresses agreed to raise him as Beiming Yuan 1.

Six years later, she witnessed his Martial Soul awakening and recognized the Ice God Pearl as proof of his inheritance. She and the Snow Empress pledged to help him become the next Ice God without abandoning their familiar treatment of him 2 3 4 5.

Training and the Journey into Human Territory

The Ice Empress subdued the beast selected for Beiming Yuan’s first Soul Ring, then became his close-combat instructor. During the following five years, she and the Snow Empress watched his field training from concealment, intervening only if his life was threatened 5 6.

Beiming Yuan subsequently proposed finding the Ten-Thousand-Year Profound Ice Cave to help both Empresses survive their approaching Heavenly Tribulations. Their search led to Beiling City and the Shui Family’s underground cold spring, where they discovered Ice Extreme Divine Crystal and Profound Ice Marrow. The Ice Empress received fifteen pillars—more than the seven or eight she estimated she needed 7 10 11 12.

She accompanied Beiming Yuan to Heaven Dou City and helped protect him during his activities there. At the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, she and the Snow Empress stood guard while he tempered his body in the spring 13 14 29 30.

Heavenly Tribulation and Suotuo City

Back in the Far North, the Ice Empress underwent her tribulation first so that the stronger Snow Empress could stand guard. After refining Lovesick Heartbreak Red and absorbing the Profound Ice Marrow, she confronted the tribulation directly, survived its four bolts, and reached 470,000 years of cultivation 31 32.

Several months later, she accompanied Beiming Yuan to Suotuo City. When Dai Mubai disparaged him, her expression immediately turned cold, but Beiming Yuan asked both Empresses to let him handle the matter himself 33 34.
