Background / History
Captivity and Adoption
As a child, Vivian was held by the Order of Glorification. After Lord Landon’s death, Tina blamed Vivian, imprisoned her in a basement, and led other children in repeatedly beating her. She was kept alive on moldy bread while suffering prolonged hunger and isolation 60.
Lu Yingheng rescued Vivian and took her into his home. When public opposition arose over his decision to protect a supposed “witch,” he held a press conference formally adopting her as his younger sister and rejecting the labels attached to her. Vivian regarded this as the beginning of her new life, making him the center of her world 6 59 60.
Lu Yingheng’s Apparent Death
Before staging his death, Lu Yingheng secured the mayor’s promise to protect Vivian from political threats. He also ordered that at least half of the Dragon Emperor Guard remain by her side, regardless of circumstances 1.
While shopping with Alice and Hoshimi Miyabi, Vivian experienced sudden unease as Lu Yingheng carried out his plan in Crete Hollow. His failure to answer her messages drove her into panic; she returned to their shared home and waited through the night 5 6 7.
The official announcement of his death devastated her. After attending his memorial procession, she blamed herself for failing to save him despite her foresight. She subsequently attempted suicide, but Long Er found her and provided emergency treatment 7 8.
Leadership and the Search for Yingheng
Long Er delivered a recording in which Lu Yingheng suggested that powerful financial interests had plotted his death. He also conveyed Yingheng’s order placing the entire Dragon Emperor Guard under Vivian’s sole command. Vivian accepted the responsibility and invited Alice and Hoshimi Miyabi to form a secret alliance against the TOPS Consortium 8 9.
Over the following year, Vivian stabilized the organization, contacted former allies, gathered evidence against conglomerates, and deployed personnel to restrain them. Her determination to avenge Yingheng sustained her, while she also searched obsessively for signs that he might have survived 16 19 61.

Reunion and Confrontation
When Hoshimi Kariichi introduced herself as Yingheng’s wife, Vivian rejected the claim even after Long Yi confirmed it. She drew Lust and attacked, leaving Long Yi to hold off Kariichi while she fought Miyabi. Miyabi defeated her and sent her crashing into the room where Alice had reached Yingheng 56 57.
Finding Alice kissing him shattered Vivian’s trust in her friend. Alice claimed to be his wife and identified Vivian as his younger sister; Vivian countered by claiming to be his child bride. She then attempted to stab Alice, prompting Yingheng to restrain her 57 58.
Still maintaining his amnesia act, Yingheng refused to accept the women’s contradictory accounts. His warning that he would despise Vivian and never see her again if she hurt anyone left her terrified. She begged him not to abandon her and agreed to stop harming others after he promised not to hate her; he then left to pursue his supposed lost memories, allowing weekly meetings 59 61.
Renewed Obsession and Shopping Outing
Vivian’s agreement did not end her possessiveness. In a concealed room covered with photographs of Yingheng, she stabbed pictures of Alice and Miyabi before panicking that her behavior would make him hate her. She then resolved to drug and imprison him so that he would love only her 69.
Claiming that she had gained some control over her emotions, Vivian persuaded Yingheng to spend a day shopping with her. During the outing, she demanded hand-holding and asked whether his time could belong exclusively to her; he refused exclusivity but promised to spend more time with her 71 72.
At a flower shop, Vivian overheard him clarify that she was his sister rather than his girlfriend. She crushed the milk tea cups she was carrying, told herself to wait until that night, and remarked that she had wasted “one packet.” She returned with replacement drinks and accepted his bouquet of purple irises; the chapter does not establish that her planned confinement succeeds 72.
Appearance
Vivian has a slender figure, long light-purple curls, rose-red eyes, and delicate pointed ears partly concealed by her hair 4.
- Hair accessory: A large, deep-purple bow 4.
- Initial outfit: A Lolita-style ensemble with a white ruffled blouse, an amethyst-set collar bow, a black corset, and a short white pleated skirt trimmed with black and purple lace 4.
- Later clothing: Wears black while working at the Dragon Emperor Bureau and a black dress for her shopping reunion with Yingheng 19 72.
Personality
Vivian is openly affectionate toward Yingheng, calling him “Brother Yingheng,” seeking physical closeness, and repeatedly asking him to spend more time with her. Before his disappearance, she frequently slept beside him rather than in her own room 4 6.
Her attachment is rooted in his rescue and acceptance of her after prolonged abuse. She fears his rejection more than death and views other women’s pursuit of him as a threat to the only person left in her world. The loss and subsequent rediscovery of Yingheng intensify this dependence into violent jealousy and plans to control his life 59 61 69.
Despite her emotional instability, Vivian carries substantial administrative responsibilities. She maintains the Dragon Emperor Bureau, manages its personnel, and coordinates opposition to TOPS, often suppressing her distress until she is alone 16 19.
Her promise not to hurt others remains in conflict with her possessiveness. She can recognize that violent behavior would disappoint Yingheng, but conceals her intentions while continuing to seek exclusive possession of him 61 69 72.
