" Vampire Race Stages"
Norton turned the page of the book with a heavy heart.
He had to admit that he felt it would have been better not to read the book at all. At least before reading it, Norton had no psychological burden whatsoever; he spent his days pretending to be a beggar and killing Church, living a blissful life.
But after watching it, he felt a little unhappy.
The Church members might not be able to connect all the clues because the body of the deity was not made public, but Norton, as a modern person, was able to see deeper issues through some subtle descriptions thanks to his extensive knowledge from his previous life.
For example, the corpse of a god was hung on a cross, so the cross possessed the power to harm Vampire.
This statement seems fine at first glance, but the more you think about it, the bigger the problem becomes.
If a cross suspending a god's corpse possessed the power to fight Vampire, that would be one thing; after all, daily contact with God and the imbuing of God holiness wouldn't be surprising.
But because the god's corpse was hung on a cross, all the crosses could now affect Vampire, which is a huge problem!
This isn't about being tainted by God's holiness; it's about adding a rule to the Vampire race!
Just because the corpse of a god was hung on a cross, a completely new rule was created in this world. What kind of power is this?
Norton truly felt an overwhelming power emanating from those few words!
The so-called gods Existence Level in this world are far more terrifying than any description of gods and Existence Level in the novels he had read in his previous life!
The casual actions of those in Existence Level can become rules that alter the underlying logic of those in Existence Level; the extent to which this Existence Level acts is simply outrageous!
In the novels Norton read in his previous life, the descriptions of divinity were nothing more than symbols of power. The mutual stripping of divinity was simply the mutual stripping of power, merely a euphemism for another kind of power. But the divinity of this world is the real, omnipotent will of God.
"Then what kind of growth is this?!"
Norton felt utterly powerless in this world.
When he was a priest, he was utterly powerless against the colossal Holy Lord City. Now that he's Vampire, he's still utterly powerless before God.
He could even punch Father Mia in front of the Church, but he had absolutely no chance of resisting God.
To use brute force to overcome all laws? That's utter nonsense. Your so-called power might be rendered useless by God's change of heart. This kind of crushing power, stemming from fundamental rules, leaves no possibility of resistance for any species!
Norton also thought of Coal Ball and Father Abraham.
Before the Coal Ball devoured Norton's flesh and blood, he couldn't sense the difference in life level between them. But after the Coal Ball devoured his flesh and blood, he could sense that the Coal Ball's life level was lower than his own.
This is easy to understand, because before the Coal Ball mutated, it was a creation of God, just like Norton, so their life levels were equal and they couldn't perceive this difference.
After it devoured Norton's flesh and blood and mutated, it began to transform into Norton's creation, so its life level would be one level lower than Norton's.
This undoubtedly proves that even if Norton had a stroke of luck and devoured God's flesh or blood, he could never surpass God; he could only be lower than God!
After all, how could something created by taking a few fragments of God's genes possibly grow to be more well-rounded than God?
The tiny fragment of genes extracted during your creation already determines your growth ceiling!
This kind of growth has an upper limit; the feeling of never being able to escape God's control is utterly powerless.
If the Church oppresses people in this world through force and ideology, rendering them powerless to resist, then God renders you powerless to resist through the rules and the very foundation that constitutes you as a person.
The Church truly lives up to its reputation as a believer in God; even its oppression of life is remarkably similar.
"The origin! This is the true origin!" Norton breathed a long sigh of relief; he had suddenly found a word to describe God.
The origin of everything.
Whether it be power, life, or anything else, everything is included in God. He is the origin of everything, and therefore He can determine everything!
"Wouldn't that make the world too monotonous? The world's capacity and variability are determined when it is created, so the world created in this way has absolutely no possibility of change."
Wait a minute... how is this different from the idea proposed by scientists in my past life that the total mass of the universe is conserved?
Holy crap, does this mean there are gods on Earth too?
Norton is indeed Norton; his thoughts tend to wander as he thinks. This mental ailment, which has plagued him for twenty years, has yet to be fully cured.
But then again, if he can't even overcome a mental illness, what God can he possibly overcome?
Norton pulled his thoughts back and continued flipping through the book in his hands.
After discarding the Church's methods for dealing with Vampire, the most useful thing left is a study on the stages of Vampire transformation.
When Vampire were numerous, the Church specifically captured Vampire for research, a project proposed by the Pope himself despite strong opposition. Moreover, judging from the records, it seems that every pope was very enthusiastic about studying Vampire. Only in modern times, when Vampire were nearly extinct, did the popes devote less effort to this research.
Despite years of research, the Church has made little progress in its study of Vampire.
According to the Church's research, Vampire are divided into three stages.
