Both Vampire were filled with suspicion, but the crucifix on the table seemed to have no effect on their arrival.

This made both Norton and Father Abraham suspicious.

"Does a cross only harm Vampire if it's driven into their heart?"

The two Vampire, one lying on the roof and the other at the door, had the same thought in their minds.

Father Abraham's doubts were the most serious.

Because it was his first time being Vampire, and he was still in the period of uncertainty and fear after becoming Vampire.

Generally speaking, during this period, these newborn Vampire have a newborn-like curiosity about everything, wanting to see if anything can really hurt them.

Moreover, Father Abraham would definitely try, because even though he had become Vampire, he still didn't want to leave the Church or give up his current high status and power! He would rather continue to hide in the city as a priest than flee to the wild and become a stray dog.

Norton is much better now; he no longer tries things out of thin air just to verify something. However, he can watch Father Abraham try.

Sure enough, it seemed that he hadn't been harmed by the cross after entering the room, which emboldened Father Abraham a little.

After hesitating for a moment, he finally took another step and went back into the room.

The cross placed on the table still showed no unusual reaction.

Father Abraham grew a little bolder and slowly stepped forward again.

There are still no problems.

"Could it be that the only way to effectively kill Vampire is to insert the cross into its heart?" Father Abraham recalled the lessons he had learned in Church about how to deal with Vampire.

There was indeed no content in that course about the cross being able to kill Vampire remotely; the only two things that could kill Vampire remotely were the sun and images of God.

Norton himself found this odd.

Both are imbued with the holiness of God, so why is it that only images of God and the sun can remotely harm Vampire, while the cross cannot?

Father Abraham felt a little more at ease, and he cautiously approached the table, getting close to the silver cross.

Even though his body was already close to the cross, he still did not react at all.

Norton held his breath and took a deep breath.

Father Abraham also let out a long sigh, then, with trembling arms, he stretched out his hand and gently touched the cross with one finger.

"Sizzle!"

The sound of raw meat being pressed onto a grill rang out, and a plume of white smoke rose from where Father Abraham's fingers touched the silver cross.

Then came Father Abraham's heart-wrenching cry of pain.

"Awoooooo!!!"

A piercing scream came from Father Abraham, who instantly pulled his arm back. Even so, his index finger, which had reached out to touch the cross, was still burned up to the knuckle.

With just a moment of contact, the power of the cross burned off half of his index finger, leaving behind ashes-like fragments at the wound.

As if a remnant of holiness remained, Father Abraham's severed finger was not restored after being removed from the cross.

The power of the cross filled Father Abraham with terror; he stepped back and dared not touch the silver cross on the table again.

"What am I going to do! What am I going to do! How can I go back to the Church? How can I face God's holiness? How can I be a priest?... Waaah... I'm doomed!"

Father Abraham broke down. Becoming Vampire didn't break him, nor did drinking human blood, but being unable to continue as a priest truly caused his mental breakdown.

He wailed in agony, grabbed the Vampire books he had brought, and stormed out the door.

Judging from the direction he went, he probably went back to the cellar to suck blood again.

Norton was left alone and quietly jumped off the roof.

"The cross has such power?" Norton frowned, looking at the silver cross on the table.

The Church- style silver cross has an exquisite appearance. It is not just a simple vertical and horizontal line, but is engraved with delicate patterns. Combined with the color of pure silver, it looks exquisite and simple, grand and holy.

The Church's aesthetic sense is simply off the charts.

Norton stopped in his tracks, gazing at the exquisite cross on the table.

"The pure silver cross... So, did the cross itself hurt Father Abraham, or did the silver hurt Father Abraham?"

If it was the cross that injured Father Abraham, then there's no doubt that it proves the cross is indeed terrifyingly lethal to Vampire. But if it was pure silver that injured Father Abraham, then that only proves one thing.

This Father Abraham, this newborn Vampire, was indeed created according to Norton's ideas!

After all, Vampire in this world aren't afraid of silver items!

If Father Abraham was truly afraid of silver, then Norton's earlier assumption would be entirely correct!

Moreover, as Father Abraham just mentioned, Vampire fear the cross because the cross, once driven into their bodies, will cause Vampire to die; this is the result of Church research.

The book I just read didn't mention that sticking a crucifix on Vampire would have a strong burning effect. Besides, Norton had tried making a crucifix himself in a cave, and it was completely useless.

But perhaps this is why the crosses they made themselves were not tainted by God's holiness.

So Norton wanted to give it a try, at least to see how resistant he was to the cross, so that he wouldn't be at a loss for what to do if he encountered Church personnel wielding it in the future.

Besides that, it's about validating your own ideas.

Norton's gaze fell upon the crucifix on the table. Recalling Father Abraham's appearance earlier, after hesitating for a moment, he finally slowly extended a withered finger, then gently reached forward and touched the crucifix.

"Hiss..."

A cool sensation emanated from the cross.

"I don't feel anything!" The expected burning sensation did not arise, and the silver cross showed no unusual reaction after touching Norton.

Norton himself felt nothing at all.

Norton even picked up the silver crucifix, lay down, and placed it on his chest or forehead, but he only felt a sense of pressure. It was as if something was pressing on his chest or forehead, exactly the same result he got from the crucifix he made in the cave for his experiments!

" Abraham, indeed, was created by my subconscious from a typical Vampire from my past life! And I, Norton, indeed possess the power of creation! Hahaha..."

Norton beamed with delight.

His mind was cleared up; his mood was completely cleared up.

Norton possesses the power to create things like God! The rank of his soul is equal to that of God!
