Rank is like a hierarchy limit. Although Norton, in his own opinion, possesses a soul on par with God's, it's clear he still lacks God's power. It's just that God can't control his soul, which gives him unlimited room for development.
But the independence of his soul still gave him a very useful ability: to cultivate his own creations by feeding his own flesh and blood.
Other species, from soul to body, are created by God. Whether from a genetic or Existence Level perspective, what they cultivate is still a product of God, unable to escape God's genetic constraints. Only Norton, because of his different soul, is essentially genetically different, able to cultivate species that God's genes cannot create. This is the reason he possesses the so-called ability to create.
Norton felt he should make good use of this advantage to make things easier for himself.
Norton left Father Abraham's house and returned to his own clock tower.
"Hahaha, Lino City is indeed Lino City, it's just to my Norton's advantage!"
Norton reached out and took the Coal Ball hanging from the roof, placing them in his hand.
Even though the Coal Ball's body wasn't as dry as before because it had been sucking blood, it still looked like a dried-up bat corpse.
This appearance reminded Norton of Vampire vassal he often encountered in a game in his past life: the Gargoyle.
Gargoyle are not actually appendages of Vampire; this concept only appears in the game the Elder Scrolls. In Central Europe, Gargoyle were seen as guardians of churches.
For example, the roof of Notre-Dame has various Gargoyle carvings.
Looking at the now-dried-up Coal Ball, it bore a resemblance to the Gargoyle from Warcraft in his memory.
Is it possible that Norton could mold Coal Ball into Gargoyle? With his own flesh and blood and his soul, which is on par with God's.
Norton felt wonderful whenever he thought about his own soul.
Since he possesses the ability to create, why doesn't Norton try it more?
Thinking of this, Norton reached out and tore off a small piece of his own flesh, then shoved it into Coal Ball's mouth.
"Turn into Gargoyle! Coal Ball, turn into Gargoyle! Can you understand human speech?"
Norton was conceiving his ideal Gargoyle in his mind, but just as he was about to begin, another problem suddenly occurred to him.
"Wait, why can't I conceive of it as God? That would be the perfect solution, invincible!"
Norton couldn't help but smile. Although he knew his idea was impossible to realize, that didn't stop him from giving it a try.
Norton was just about to try it when he suddenly stopped himself from doing so.
"Hiss, if I can imagine Coal Ball as God, why can't I imagine it as a little girl with twin tails...?"
Hajinuo's lust got the better of him again.
Lino City returned to calm, at least on the surface.
Even the coincidental deaths at the Church of Lino City have ceased to occur.
Norton's attempts to imagine the Coal Ball as God or a twin-tailed little girl were futile; he was not God, and his so-called creative abilities were entirely different from God's.
If God can casually create new life forms by taking a few of his own genes, then Norton at most adds a gene to the life form he creates, thereby causing a certain mutation based on the original life form.
To say he has the Existence Level of God is pure flattery; to put it bluntly, he's just a low-level mutant. At least for now.
His so-called creative power is nothing more than using his unique code to slightly alter one of the fundamental codes of God's creation, thereby stealing a portion of the ownership of that being.
For example, Father Abraham's underlying code is still God's, and God still has absolute control over him. Norton only possesses the code that caused Father Abraham's transformation. His so-called control ability is only to control this code that caused Father Abraham's transformation, thereby gaining absolute control over him at the life level.
Ultimately, whether it's the underlying code or the fundamental code, only when they are combined do they Father Abraham. If either one is separated, Father Abraham will die.
Lino City appeared calm on the surface, but beneath that tranquility, undercurrents were surging.
Since Norton's flesh and blood have the ability to nurture followers, he, Norton, will not waste it.
However, the cultivation of such a kin has certain limitations. At least before the mutation is complete, Norton does not have the ability to control it. Therefore, when he uses his own flesh and blood to mutate creatures, he will only choose members of his own bat family.
To ensure the continuation of the bat family, Norton decided to only train older bats; whichever bat was old and nearing death, he would train.
He allowed the younger ones to gestate naturally, thus increasing the number of his Norton family members.
Therefore, Norton's only options for training now are Coal Ball and Coal Ball's wife.
However, the abilities of Coal Ball and Coal Ball wife's retinue cannot be wasted. Although the New-Type Vampire they cultivate may not listen to Norton or even outwardly comply but inwardly defy him, Norton has complete control over them at the level of their life.
If he could turn all the people in Lino City into Vampire, that would be far better than the city originally being entirely human.
At least compared to humans, Norton has complete dominance over the New-Type Vampire.
As a result, there were suddenly more incidents of bats attacking people in Lino City.
"You Old Norton, still squatting here? Be careful you don't get carried away by a bat!" The familiar teasing voice rang out, and Old Glenn chuckled as he walked past Norton toward the tavern next door.
Norton's location, close to the Church, meant that the residents were at least middle-class or higher, and they could afford to occasionally dine at the tavern.
With the Werewolf incident over, Lino City returned to its former state. However, the drawbacks of the heavy rain were beginning to show. Norton's so-called middle-class area was not yet apparent. In the areas inhabited by serfs and the poor, signs of riots, including murder, robbery, and cannibalism, were beginning to emerge.
The Church remained entrenched and motionless. Archbishop Duoxia, for reasons unknown, had not made a move to this day, seemingly waiting for the Holy See to reveal a weakness.
This resulted in the Church knights remaining stationed within the Church and no longer venturing out, leaving the slums unsupervised and further destabilizing the area.
Perhaps it won't be long before order completely collapses.
Norton remained in his usual spot, his gaze sweeping across the Church.
He discovered that he wasn't the only one working hard during this time; at least his bats hadn't ingested any Church personnel.
However, during this period, he sensed a sense of control over the life level from two Church members.
This means that at least two more of the New-Type Vampire he created have joined the Church!
If it wasn't created by bats, then who else could it be? Without a doubt, it could only be Father Abraham, whom Norton created based on the template of modern Vampire.
After all, they are modern-style Vampire, so it's normal for them to possess the Embrace ability.
" Father Abraham really worked hard!" Norton's crimson eyes scanned the Church through the gaps in the tattered cloth, and he felt he really should award Father Abraham a medal.
It's only been two weeks since Father Abraham became Vampire, and he's already created two new companions! He's practically a workaholic!
Could it be that the entire Lino City will eventually fall?
Has it completely turned into Vampire city?
