Japan’s leaders tried to draw the New Soviet Union’s anger toward the Great Asian Alliance as American forces advanced into Tokyo. At a meeting of the Ten Master Clans, Retsu Kudou and government officials tried to stop the families from cooperating with Yunyi, but Yunyi arrived and offered to help.

• Japanese officers concluded that Andreevich had attacked Tokyo to tie Japan down while the New Soviet Union deployed reinforcements, and they decided to publicize Liu Yunyi’s role in the Fukushima battle to redirect Soviet attention toward the Great Asian Alliance.
• The heads of the Ichijou, Yotsuba, Saegusa, and other families met to discuss their next steps, but Retsu Kudou arrived with government and military officials to oppose their cooperation with Yunyi.
• Miyuki Shiba, Tatsuya Shiba, and Koichi Saegusa rejected Retsu Kudou’s intervention, and Koichi said that Mayumi Saegusa now led the Saegusa Family.
• A military official threatened to arrest Koichi for treason and activated an interference device, but lightning from outside struck and killed him.

Yunyi killed Retsu Kudou after the military broke the ceasefire with the Great Asian Alliance in Aichi Prefecture. As the family heads considered the military’s plans for a final battle in Tokyo, Tatsuya and Miyuki argued that Yunyi’s power and proposed new order could reshape the war and the world of magicians.

• Yunyi’s spear pierced Retsu Kudou’s heart, killing the last member of the Kudou Family and the government official beside him.
• Mayumi Saegusa told the family heads that radical military officers had attacked Great Asian Alliance forces in Aichi Prefecture during the three-day ceasefire, suffering heavy losses after Liu Yunde used Thunderclap Tower.
• Tatsuya Shiba explained that the military had provoked the Great Asian Alliance to divert the consequences of the Tokyo Bay defeat and might be preparing to make Tokyo the site of a final battle.
• Tatsuya Shiba said Yunyi’s Domain Magic could control the psions within its area and potentially devastate Tokyo, while Miyuki Shiba said Yunyi could change the course of the war.
• Koichi Saegusa suggested Yunyi might become the check on magicians required by his proposed new order, and Mayumi Saegusa revealed that Yunyi’s mother was close to completing research that could extend lifespans.
