Yunyi led First High School to victory at the Nine Schools Competition, exposed a terrorist branch, and grew closer to Mayumi as she moved in with him. After introducing Mayumi to his mother, Shen Yi, Yunyi left the arc preparing to challenge the military-focused magic system while Mayumi’s sisters questioned their relationship.

• Yunyi swept through the Nine Schools Competition finals, defeating Third High School and helping Mayumi win Mirage Bat before First High School claimed the overall championship.
• Yunyi captured No Head Dragon’s branch leaders and asked Mayumi Saegusa and Katsuto Jumonji to deal with infiltrators on the organizing committee.
• Yunyi and Mayumi made their relationship public, and Mayumi’s father, Koichi Saegusa, agreed to stop opposing them as she asked to move in with Yunyi.
• Mayumi moved into Yunyi’s house with Kasumi Saegusa and Izumi Saegusa, while Yunyi refused Grand Master Kudou’s attempt to recruit him through the Ichijo Family.
• Yunyi helped Shizuku Kitayama overcome Miyuki Shiba in a magic practice match, then criticized First High School for preparing students to serve the military instead of teaching them to use magic for everyday life.
• Yunyi took Mayumi to meet Shen Yi aboard a ship in the Atlantic Ocean, where Mayumi said she would give up her Saegusa identity to be with him and Shen Yi considered how she could take control of the family.
• After Yunyi and Mayumi returned home, Kasumi and Izumi questioned whether Yunyi had tricked or threatened Mayumi into dating him.

Yunyi supported Mayumi through her departure from First High and the upheaval surrounding his nomination as Public Morals Committee chair, while deepening his ties with the Saegusa family. The arc ended with Yunyi and Mayumi vacationing with the twins, where an unexplained sense of danger left everyone on watch.

• Yunyi taught Miyuki, Honoka, and Shizuku his practical magic technique, then stopped teaching Miyuki when she resisted his instructions.
• Yunyi and Mayumi settled into a home life with Kasumi and Izumi, while the twins gradually grew comfortable with him.
• Azusa became student council president, Mayumi proposed abolishing the unequal school rules, and Mari named Yunyi her successor as Public Morals Committee chair.
• Yunyi confronted Tatsuya over Miyuki, fought him, and stopped when Yakumo appeared with Miyuki nearby.
• Koichi tested Yunyi and warned him and Mayumi to prepare for the truth about Yunyi to emerge, while promising not to oppose their relationship.

Yunyi froze a tsunami threatening the Ogasawara Islands, then became entangled in the Yotsuba Clan’s plans and an attack on Shen Yi’s research ship. After the group returned to Tokyo, Yunyi rejected Koichi Saegusa’s offer of Japanese citizenship and began discussing the forces behind the public backlash, while Mayumi considered how to support him and her family.

• Yunyi trained Izumi Saegusa in Spatial Magic and spent time with Mayumi Saegusa before an undersea explosion awakened a volcano and sent a tsunami toward Ogasawara.
• Yunyi froze the tsunami and surrounding sea with Mahapadma Hell, then recovered with Mayumi while the group faced the frozen sea’s effects and public scrutiny.
• Maya Yotsuba ordered Miyuki Shiba to establish a relationship with Yunyi, but Yunyi rejected involvement in the Yotsuba Family’s problems and warned Tatsuya Shiba and Miyuki to keep him out of them.
• Yunyi told Miyuki that the Yotsuba Family had altered her and Tatsuya, and explained how restoring Tatsuya’s emotions could change their relationship.
• Yunyi told Mayumi that he planned to dismantle the factions supporting a target in the Union, while Japanese media and the military attacked the magician who had frozen the sea.
• Yunyi defended Shen Yi’s research ship from three warships, then returned to Ogasawara and spoke with Miyuki about her relationship with Tatsuya.
• After the group returned to Tokyo, Yunyi rejected Koichi Saegusa’s naturalization offer and identified Blanche and No Head Dragon as likely collaborators in the campaign against magicians.
• Mrs. Saegusa urged Mayumi to remain with the Saegusa Family and take control of it, and Mayumi agreed to consider her advice.

Yunyi returned to the Great Asian Alliance, dismantled the Stick Faction, and expanded his influence while building ties in Japan. As he settled into First High School, Lina arrived under an American identity, and Yunyi prepared to test her in the arena.

• Yunyi broke with the Yun Family, confronted its allies, and forced the Alliance government to approve the Stick Faction’s removal and the reorganization of its forces.
• Yunyi brought Xiaoxue and the Celestial Master's Mansion into the military restructuring, redirected Chen Xiangshan’s team to gather intelligence in India, and tasked Thunder with suppressing a rebellion.
• Yunyi captured Sun Meiling, arranged for Yuuka Tsukuba to examine her, and sent her for interrogation after realizing she might know where Richard Sun was hiding.
• Yunyi agreed to clear the frozen area in Ogasawara if Katsuto Jumonji stopped the military from harassing him, then equipped his allies with new Engraving-Type CADs.
• Yunyi returned to First High School with Mayumi Saegusa and joined Class A, where Lina introduced herself as Angelina Shields.
• Lina defeated Shizuku Kitayama in the practical skills test, and Yunyi warned Miyuki Shiba not to underestimate her before challenging Lina himself.
