The Shinigami the Unforgiven, Chapter 24: Soi Fon Will Never Call Me Dad. Underground training is in full swing.
The ground was scorching hot.
"Waaah."
Soi Fon lost her initial arrogance, tears welling up in her large, light gray eyes. She could only cover them tightly with her small hands to avoid making that embarrassing sound.
So many years have passed, and she thought she could persevere, completely forgetting that if she didn't use cucumbers for daily training, nothing would change even after another hundred years.
In just a few moments, she was brought to tears.
"Keep showing off, go ahead and keep showing off."
Shiraishi felt no sympathy for her tears now, only pride and self-satisfaction, and wanted to make her cry even harder.
Soi Fon -filled eyes held a hint of shame and anger. She wrapped her arms around his neck, tilted her head back, and bit his shoulder.
Those steel-like muscles almost knocked out her teeth.
Years of Hakuda with Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto and the constant honing of his physical skills finally yielded results at this moment.
Unlike twenty years ago, he is now covered in high-density muscles. The reason he doesn't look much different is that he intentionally suppressed his muscles and didn't make them look so intimidating.
The advantage of such a strong body is that it allows for high-speed movement without the need for Reiatsu.
From noon to 5 p. m.
The sky outside was still very bright. In early summer, dusk didn't fall so quickly, and the chirping of cicadas in the pine trees was drowned out by the sound of flying Soi Fon.
"Stop~ Stop~"
Her little feet kicked repeatedly at Shiraishi's sweaty abs, making him feel like he was about to dehydrate. "You brute!"
Soi Fon rolled her eyes at him, her delicate, palm-sized face flushed red, like a ripe, freshly washed apple.
Shiraishi couldn't resist taking a bite, and whispered in his ear, "One more time, please."
"You want to kill me? Get out of here!"
Soi Fon was pleased that he so desperately wanted her, but now she just wanted to shut herself away from visitors; her small body couldn't withstand his constant torment.
Shiraishi, still savoring the memory, recalled Kūkaku's kindness, knowing she would never run out of water.
Retsu Unohana and Soi Fon lack the water storage function, and over time, they will always face a water shortage crisis.
He stood up and said, "I'll go fetch some water for you to wash up."
Is anyone outside?
Soi Fon asked a question, noting that her intuition was far less sharp than Shiraishi's.
Shiraishi shook his head and said, "I didn't sense any Reiatsu."
"I'll go myself. You can clean up here and open the windows to let in some fresh air."
Soi Fon struggled to her feet, her legs a little weak. She picked up her clothes and Shunpo to run towards the bathroom.
Shiraishi opened the window, jumped directly into the pond, then jumped out, shook off the water, and began cleaning the room, wiping it dry with a cloth, before frantically spinning around to remove his and Soi Fon's scent.
We absolutely cannot let Retsu Unohana smell anything amiss.
Some things are one thing to know in your heart, but quite another to put them on the table.
He didn't want to break the unspoken understanding, fearing unimaginable consequences.
After cleaning the house, Shiraishi put on his clothes and checked it one last time to make sure there wasn't a single trace left before he was satisfied and continued to leave the room open.
The air outside will surely dissipate soon.
He wiped the sweat from his brow, breathed a sigh of relief, and remembered the ice bucket he had seen. He quickly scooped out the watermelon from inside, cut it open with a knife, and sliced it into pieces.
Bright red flesh mixed with black watermelon seeds, served on a white plate, he sat on the corridor, the shadows already spreading to the ground in front of him.
He took a bite of watermelon, the sweet flesh mixed with the coolness, and listened to the cicadas chirping in the trees, the summer heat dissipated.
"That feels so good," Shiraishi, taking another bite and spitting the watermelon seeds onto the ground.
Soon after, Soi Fon returned, her hair still damp with water droplets. She sat down next to him, picked up a slice of watermelon, and casually leaned against his shoulder, saying, "How have you been doing in Hueco Mundo all these years?"
"This is terrible, I'm going crazy missing you."
The watermelon was sweet, Shiraishi's words were even sweeter. Soi Fon's earlobes turned red, and she used a fierce tone to hide her inner shyness as she said, "Hmph, you're just all talk. Missing me? Who knows who you're thinking about."
Shiraishi avoided the topic and asked, "How are you doing out there?"
Soi Fon lowered her eyes and said, "Compared to those captains who were sealed away, I am already lucky enough."
Shiraishi finally managed to ask the question that had been lingering in his mind all along, "Who else has been sealed away?"
"There are too many. I'll just talk about who hasn't been sealed away."
Soi Fon didn't want to mention the list of seals, and instead said, "I, Captain Unohana, Kisuke Urahara, Captain Kuchiki, Captain Hitsugaya, Kūkaku Shiba weren't sealed."
Shiraishi asked in surprise, " Hitsugaya wasn't sealed away?"
Soi Fon nodded and said, "Yeah, it's probably because Gin Ichimaru was too confident. He actually thought he could kill Captain Hitsugaya with one blow, and that Captain Unohana would save him."
" Gin Ichimaru... "Shiraishi's eyes flashed with a thoughtful look as he asked, "Where's Matsumoto?"
"He died at the hands of Gin Ichimaru a long time ago."
Soi Fon replied, then comforted him, "You don't need to blame yourself; it has nothing to do with you."
"Um."
Shiraishi wasn't sad. Anyone could have killed Rangiku Matsumoto, but Gin Ichimaru was absolutely impossible. "What about Hitsugaya and Byakuya?"
Soi Fon replied, "In preparation for the upcoming all-out war, with Captain Kurotsuchi's help, they infiltrated the Divine Realm created by Aizen, waiting for their opportunity to strike."
Shiraishi frowned and asked, "Didn't Aizen notice?"
"No, Aizen is currently busy with a new research project. All matters, big and small, in the Divine Realm are being decided by Round Table consisting of Gin Ichimaru, Captain Kurotsuchi, Izuru Kira, Shūhei Hisagi, and the Espada."
Soi Fon said with a sharp look in her eyes, "This is an opportunity. Kisuke Urahara should use the controller that can wake Yhwach up sooner to catch Aizen."
The prerequisite is that we can rescue Kisuke Urahara and persuade the Wandenreich to join forces.
Shiraishi asked, "Where is Kisuke Urahara being held?"
Soi Fon spat out watermelon seeds in frustration, "Didn't find it. There are three Kisuke Urahara might be imprisoned."
No one is allowed to approach that place, and even Ōmaeda can't verify the truth of the matter. I plan to go there myself."
Shiraishi frowned, put down the watermelon rind, and said, "Don't push yourself. Kisuke Urahara can't be locked up forever, can he?"
Soi Fon nodded and said, "Yes, June 15th is the deadline. If we fail to rescue him, the Quincy will execute Kisuke Urahara."
"There's still plenty of time. We'll try to rescue him on the day of his execution."
Shiraishi grinned mischievously.
You're so mean.
Soi Fon nudged him lightly and laughed, "But I like it."
Kisuke Urahara for Soi Fon never changed.
She had changed her mind about Yoruichi Shihōin from the moment Aizen was sealed away by Aizen to save her.
She no longer cares about that abandoned past.
"Alright, I'm going to handle this myself, so don't worry, just stay here and behave yourself."
Next time we meet, don't let me smell any other woman on you.
Soi Fon gave his neck a hard suck and said fiercely, "Otherwise, I'll bite you to death."
I'm not that kind of person.
Shiraishi answered with a serious expression.
"That's good," Soi Fon straightened his collar and then Shunpo left.
