Shiraishi rescued Kūkaku, killed Munemasa, and joined Ichigo’s companions in their journey to Silbern to rescue Kisuke Urahara. He then infiltrated Aizen’s Divine Realm and worked out how to open its barrier, while Orihime remained captive and Grimmjow prepared to attack the surviving Shinigami.
Shiraishi and Nemu helped free Kūkaku from prison, and Shiraishi escaped the Seireitei with her. After learning that Munemasa planned to seize the Shiba Clan’s spiritual tool and abduct Ganju, Shiraishi and Kūkaku returned to the clan headquarters and confronted him, where his stolen Zanpakuto powers turned the fight against them.
Shiraishi survived the conflict with Munemasa, reunited with Kūkaku, and later fought through Hueco Mundo while Azashiro pursued his plans. In Zuellni, Shiraishi reunited with Rukia and Ichigo, and the group set out to find Ishida and reach Silbern.
Shiraishi brought Ichigo and his companions to Silbern, where they began training and prepared to rescue Kisuke Urahara while Shiraishi approached Yhwach. The group split up to fight the Sternritter, leaving Rukia critically injured and Ichigo badly wounded as he continued battling Cang Du.
As Ichigo’s allies prepare to confront Aizen, Shiraishi infiltrates the Divine Realm and works to uncover its barrier while Orihime is held there. Yhwach names Uryū his successor, and Grimmjow’s coming assault threatens the Shinigami in the lower world.
