Background / History

Rudeus’s Early Teacher

Roxy taught Rudeus magic in Buena Village eight years before his university enrollment. Her lessons also included Demon God Language, which he later used to read signs on the Demon Continent. He continued to regard her as his master long after their original lessons ended 4 36 39.

Search for Zenith

Roxy’s search party confirmed Zenith’s location in the Teleportation Labyrinth near Rapan on the Begaritt Continent using information from Kishirika’s Demon Eye. After investigating the labyrinth, Roxy arrived at Paul’s camp with Elinalise and Talhand and reunited with Rudeus 14 15 16.

She brought maps and intelligence about teleportation traps, poisonous fog, mana-enhanced monsters, and the S-rank Hydra on the sixth floor. With two earlier search parties already lost, she insisted on a complete rescue plan rather than further unprepared expeditions. Paul initially assigned her and Talhand to the seven-person party’s rear guard 16 17.

Teleportation Labyrinth Rescue

Inside the labyrinth, Roxy helped identify a teleportation-locked door and located its matching key. Against the second-floor guardian, she cut through a seam in the giant spider’s abdominal armor with Water Blade, creating an opening for Paul’s sword 21 23.

On the fifth floor, she treated Lilia’s swollen ankle, though her healing could not restore the injured leg’s full function. She then accompanied the group toward Zenith and the Hydra on the sixth floor 24 25.

During the Hydra battle, Roxy and Rudeus tested its magical defenses. After long-range spells failed, she suggested trying point-blank magic. Once Rudeus discovered that fire prevented regeneration, she burned severed neck stumps while Paul and Eris attacked the remaining heads 26.

Following the battle, Roxy treated Paul and Rudeus but could not restore their severely damaged limbs. She also examined Zenith, whose body was stable but whose consciousness remained unresponsive. Seeing Rudeus’s crude earthen replacement hand, she proposed developing an articulated prosthetic powered by mana circuits 27 28.

Life in Sharia

Roxy remained closely involved with the Greyrat household after the rescue, sharing meals and occupying a room in the family home during the wedding period. She continued discussing prosthetic designs with Rudeus and prepared research drawings for him 29 33 34 35.

At Ranoa University of Magic, she worked as an instructor with her own workshop. She resumed teaching Rudeus through Miniature Magic exercises intended to provide the precision his prosthetic required. She also explained his likely entrance-test opponent, Fitz, and the special-student system; a university notice later identified her as the lecturer for a Mixed Magic Seminar 35 36 39.

Roxy is composed, practical, and unwilling to waste lives through poor preparation. Her response to the failed search parties is to demand a workable plan, and she redirects Paul’s anxiety before the Hydra battle toward tactics and Zenith’s rescue 16 26.

As a teacher, she is patient and precise. She breaks difficult concepts into accessible analogies, identifies individual mistakes, and stresses that mana control develops gradually rather than through forced results. Rudeus recognizes the same teaching style she used during his childhood 36.

Her restrained manner can give way to dry criticism or embarrassment. She bluntly praises Eris at Paul’s expense, becomes flustered when companions carry her through danger, and refuses to explain a photograph in her workshop. Rudeus describes her as gentle in manner but exceptionally stubborn once she decides to keep something private 21 22 23 36.
