Chapters 976–979 Vol. 10 Read

Ch. 976Imu's Second Attempt at Temptation

Imu offered Roy and his allies eternal life and power in exchange for their submission, but Roy rejected him and Luffy joined him in the fight. After Imu’s black-flame attack, Roy ordered the other fighters to retreat, leaving only him and Luffy to face Imu.

  • Imu tempted Roy and his allies with eternal life and rule over the world if Roy surrendered the Array-Array Fruit and killed Nika.
  • Roy used the Dark-Dark Fruit to break Imu’s mental influence, and Luffy rejected Imu’s offer as well.
  • Imu attacked Roy and Luffy with a massive torrent of black flames, and both fought back but were battered by the blast.
  • Roy ordered the allied officers and other fighters to retreat, explaining that Imu’s power made the battle too dangerous for them.
  • Kaido, Loki, Hawk Eyes, Shanks, and the others withdrew, leaving Roy and Luffy alone to face Imu.

Ch. 977Roy and Luffy: The Rise of Two Gods

Roy unleashed the Davy Jones Origin as the King of Darkness, while Luffy awakened the Nika Origin as the Sun God, and together they fought Imu above the Red Line. After half an hour of battle, Imu’s attacks had failed to overcome either of them, though Roy and Luffy had both suffered injuries.

  • Roy formed black divine armor by unleashing the Davy Jones Origin and called himself the King of Darkness.
  • Luffy unleashed the Nika Origin, became a towering white giant, and called himself the Sun God.
  • Roy and Luffy charged Imu, beginning the final battle as their clash shook the Red Line and forced the officers and troops to retreat.
  • Roy used his Darkness Domain, Telekinesis, and Soul-Soul Fruit powers to counter Imu’s attacks while Luffy absorbed and rebounded from them with his rubber body.
  • Imu unleashed all eighteen abilities at once, but Roy’s defenses blocked the barrage and Luffy quickly sprang back into shape.
  • Luffy taunted Imu, who grew anxious after half an hour of fighting without seriously harming Roy or Luffy.

Ch. 978Sun God Fist

Roy and Luffy joined forces to overwhelm Imu, who tried to sacrifice everyone on the Red Line to regain his strength. Roy trapped Imu in the Black Cage, and Luffy launched his Sun God Fist, leaving the final blow unresolved.

  • Imu burned his own origin and attacked Roy and Luffy with the combined power of eighteen abilities.
  • Roy and Luffy charged Imu together, and their collision shook the Red Line with a blinding explosion.
  • The blast left Imu weakened and afraid while Roy and Luffy remained standing.
  • Imu began spreading black flames across the Red Line to sacrifice its inhabitants and restore his power.
  • Roy bound Imu in the Black Cage, preventing him from completing the ritual and draining his strength.
  • Luffy gathered his Conqueror's Haki and Nika Origin into a giant fist, then began his Sun God Fist attack.

Ch. 979Imu's Fall, a New Era (The Grand Finale)

Roy defeated Imu, ending the World Government’s eight-hundred-year rule, and the Red Line collapsed to join the Four Blues. As the Revolutionary Army began rebuilding the world, Roy and the Straw Hat crew sailed into a new era.

  • Roy’s Darkness Domain devoured Imu’s remains after the nineteen ancient kings fell, and sunlight cleared the sky above the Red Line.
  • Roy ordered the allied forces to evacuate as the Red Line cracked apart and its collapse connected the Four Blues into one ocean.
  • Garp and the remaining Marines surrendered, while Dragon and the Revolutionary Army took charge of restoring order and abolishing the old class system.
  • Luffy proclaimed that he would become Pirate King as the Straw Hat Grand Fleet cheered across the newly connected sea.
  • Roy told Tesoro that they would return to Hachinosu to rest before seeing what the new era would bring.
