When the two finished dressing and came out onto the street, it was already in chaos, with people fleeing everywhere. The fire had spread nearby, and looking towards the end of the street, all that could be seen were two huge lines of fire leaping about.
Barnett's face changed instantly upon seeing this, his eyes widened as if they were about to burst, and his eyeballs became bloodshot.
"Damn pirates!" Barnett muttered through gritted teeth. At that moment Rebecca and Wendy, along with Ain, came out dressed and joined the two.
"What's going on? Where are the pirates?" Barnett grabbed a panicked young man from the fleeing crowd and asked.
"They're coming this way from behind, setting fires as they go! They'll shoot or stab anyone who gets in their way, and several people have already fallen." The young man's voice trembled slightly as he spoke, as if he were recalling something he had just witnessed.
"Why would they do that?" Barnett asked, suppressing his anger.
"It seems a hot spring resort offended them, and that's how this happened! Let me go, that's all I know."
Barnett released the young man, who quickly disappeared into the fleeing crowd. Barnett stared at the end of the street, his eyes seemingly burning with fire, whether it was a reflection of the distant flames or a fire burning in his own heart, it was hard to tell.
" Rebecca and I will go stop them. You guys figure out how to put out the fire. The water from the hot springs will do. Don't bring Ain with you. If you see any students from the Elite Camp, call them to help put out the fire!"
After saying that, Barnett ran towards the source of the fire. Rebecca didn't say much; she was the strongest here, and Frodeku could only defend himself. Plus, with a child involved, it was indeed not suitable for them to fight the pirates head-on.
"Boss, we've burned half of this street. What's next? Continue burning?"
"Fine, let it burn on its own. I've vented my anger enough. Now we need to make some money. This island seems quite wealthy. Gather the people who escaped earlier, and we'll ransack it. Send a few men to the dock to control the other boats, and don't let anyone escape!"
"Yes"
Several henchmen broke away from the main group and ran towards the dock, while the others, armed, followed behind a short man, driving the crowd forward.
At that moment, a man and a woman were walking against the flow of the running crowd towards the pirates.
Barnett's eyes were filled with endless rage, and Rebecca also couldn't stand the actions of these pirates. They set fire to half a street of houses over a trivial matter, and who knows if anyone who couldn't escape the houses perished in the flames!
Adding to this, the scattered corpses lying on the ground behind the pirates when she arrived, some still burning in flames, made Rebecca feel as if the flames were reflecting her emotions. She was on the verge of losing control; in her eyes, these pirates were courting death.
"Stop!"
As the two approached, one of the pirates raised his sword, preparing to strike a boy of eleven or twelve years old.
The little boy tripped while running, and his leg was injured, so he could no longer run and could only walk slowly in excruciating pain.
But the pirates can't wait for you. If you can't leave, you'll just have to lie here forever.
"Haha, two fearless guys have arrived! This chick's got some hot looks!"
"Yeah, this is a special perk for the boss!"
"Captain, this woman looks like a swordsman, be careful."
Behind the short pirate captain was a man wielding two swords. He could tell at a glance that Rebecca was no ordinary person; she was the swordsman of the Round Table Pirates, second only to the pirate captain in strength.
" Kanbo, if she's a swordsman, then she's yours. But go easy on her; don't hurt her face. Just make sure she's unable to resist. I'll need her for something else later!"
Desukurei was pulling at his long, curved mustache with his right thumb and forefinger, pulling it to the end and then pulling it back up, his small eyes narrowed as he sized up Rebecca.
"Understood, I will capture her myself," the swordsman Kanbo replied calmly, as if capturing Rebecca was a matter of course.
Rebecca felt uncomfortable under Desukurei's small eyes, his hair hanging on his head like a rag, his mustache that turned into a circle at the end, and his round, short stature—all of these things made Rebecca dislike him.
You see, only Vic's image was perfect in Rebecca's mind, but this Desukurei was almost the complete opposite of Vic. He was made to look exactly like that, making Rebecca uncomfortable, and he even stared at her lecherously.
"Shave"
Rebecca couldn't hold back and instantly appeared in front of Desukurei, kicking him in the face.
Rebecca is so strong now that she can easily kick and shatter a large rock.
Rebecca's attack came suddenly, catching the pirates completely off guard. Desukurei was sent flying far away, his bloody teeth still flying in the air as he landed.
"Go get her!" Desukurei sat on the ground, covering his face with a shoe print, blood still dripping from the corner of his mouth.
He no longer cared about getting close to her; this young beauty was too hot, and he couldn't handle it. Besides, she had injured his handsome face and angered him. He decided to destroy her.
"Oh"
The henchmen roared and charged toward Rebecca, but Kanbo stood still, as if he didn't want to take advantage of her vulnerability.
He didn't actually see the kick his boss took just now; it was too fast, and he couldn't have done it.
Barnett didn't move either. He knew how strong Rebecca was; none of these people could even be a match for Rebecca. He was staring intently at Desukurei, as if he were her father's killer.
Rebecca sidestepped the vertical slash of a henchman who charged at her first. She drew her longsword, a flash of blue light, and the burly man fell to the ground, motionless.
She kicked away a man who had attacked from behind, and her longsword pierced the neck of the pirate who had surrounded her on the right. Blood stained the blue blade. The pirate stared wide-eyed at Rebecca in disbelief, but his body had already collapsed to the ground, his eyes wide open as if he had died with his eyes still open.
Rebecca wasted no time. There were still many enemies. With a leap and a swing of her sword, two people were slit in the throat and fell to the ground unwillingly.
The sword deflected a rapidly flying lead bullet—someone had fired a shot from behind. Rebecca paid no heed, severing a pirate's knife-wielding arm with her longsword, ignoring his screams. Before the severed hand hit the ground, the blue blade had already pierced the hilt of her rapier. With a slight twist of her wrist, the rapier spun rapidly around the blue blade, then swung in a certain direction—to the pirate who had fired the shot earlier, now impaled in the chest by his comrade's rapier.
Rebecca kept moving, her Observation Haki allowing her to dodge attacks from all directions while calmly reaping the lives of the pirates. At this moment, she felt no compassion; killing these pirates was saving more lives.
