"Are you trying to teach me how to do things? I don't have time for you right now. Go find somewhere cool and don't bother us. You'd better disappear from our sight right now, immediately!"
Vic lowered his head, his eyes narrowed, and spoke coldly to Bekori, his words carrying a hint of murderous intent that sent a chill down Bekori's spine, causing him to shiver involuntarily.
"Yes, yes, yes! Lord Dark Dragon! Gentlemen! I'll take my men and leave right away!"
Bekori was terrified by Vic's gaze, realizing that this navy officer was different from those he had met before and clearly disliked him. Staying any longer might really mean his death.
He was originally a king who was put on the throne by the World Government and the Navy. It would be easy for the Navy to replace him with a single word. He's a coward who's afraid of death, so how could he dare to stay?
Bekori, accompanied by his guards, took off running towards the carriage. In his panic, he tripped over the hem of his own royal robe and fell flat on his face, losing two teeth and his mouth full of blood.
The surrounding commoners burst into laughter at the sight. Was this still the same domineering King Bekori? Now he looked like a stray dog.
Bekori was furious at being mocked, but dared not vent his anger there. After being helped up by the guards, he didn't dare stop, and after getting into the carriage, he quickly ordered the coachman to turn around.
In less than five minutes, Bekori came and went in a hurry, trying to curry favor with the horse, leaving behind only a dusty dirt road and two bloody front teeth.
"You two, come here. I have something to ask you."
Vic spotted two somewhat familiar figures in the crowd: cowboy hats and big beards, who looked a lot like the two henchmen of Bonney in the future.
While Vic wasn't entirely clear about the relationship between Bonney and Kuma before, he now knows that Kuma has been living with a girl named Ginny. Bonney is most likely Kuma's daughter, so there must be some connection between these two and Kuma, though the nature of that connection is still uncertain.
Gyogyo and Totsu pointed at themselves and looked at Vic with questioning expressions. They then glanced at the people around them. After Vic smiled and nodded, the two slowly walked over, turning back every few steps as if afraid someone would step on their tails.
Gyogyo and Totsu were quite nervous because they were the people who knew Kuma Ginny the best here. They had all grown up together, and if they had something to hide, they would be caught red-handed.
Do you know Bartholomew Kuma?
Vic pulled out the wanted poster for Kuma and held it up to their faces, asking them a question. He could see their nervousness; he didn't know if they were nervous about seeing the Navy or if they actually knew something and had something to hide.
"No... we don't recognize him. We all know him. He used to live in this church, but he left five years ago, and we haven't seen him since."
The middle-aged man with the dazed look on his face replied. He originally wanted to say that he didn't know him, but he knew that would only make people more suspicious. Everyone watching the show here knew Kuma, and he would definitely be exposed later. This guy looked dazed, but he was actually quite clever.
"Alright, we'll be staying here for a long time. If you have any news about him, you must report back immediately. Otherwise, you're harboring a criminal, which is also a crime, understand? Let's go!"
Vic had alerted them; he could tell that these two were definitely up to something serious, and their relationship with Kuma was certainly not ordinary.
If Kuma really does come back periodically, then all he has to do is say he's waiting here. Those two will definitely get anxious. If they have a way to contact Kuma, they'll definitely tell Kuma not to return to the Sorbet Kingdom. At that point, Vic will simply take them hostage. He doesn't believe Kuma won't come back.
"Huh? Oh!"
The two arrived and left inexplicably, but this time they dared not watch the spectacle and left the crowd. However, Vic's Observation Haki Vic locked on the two, and he knew everything they did and said.
Vic didn't ask anyone else about Kuma. Instead, he and Rebecca set up camp in the church. Since there was no one in the church, occupying the place would make the onlookers more convinced that he would wait there for a long time. Vic had spoken quite loudly earlier, and everyone onlookers could hear him, so it was like casting a wide net.
Once Vic and his group entered the church, the other onlookers dispersed, finding the spectacle over. However, their attitude towards Vic changed; they were no longer indiscriminately discussing him as they had when they first arrived.
Since Bekori wasn't well-liked by this Marine Vice Admiral, they figured the admiral was alright. Perhaps he was just following orders to find Kumachi and had no choice!
Vic didn't stay in the church the whole time. As darkness fell, he went to the beach alone and sat cross-legged, but his Observation Haki kept a close eye on the two people.
Vic was right. The two secretly found a secluded spot, took out a Den Den Mushi, and made a call. They were quite cautious; they kept the Den Den Mushi outside and didn't carry it with them.
Has something happened in the Sorbet Kingdom again?
" Kuma! The Sorbet Kingdom is still the same as always, except a group of naval personnel came looking for you today. The leader was Vice Admiral Dark Dragon from the Headquarters Vice Admiral. He even questioned the two of us with your bounty poster, but we managed to fool him. Now we're just telling you not to come back anytime soon. Dark Dragon said he'll wait here for a while."
"Did you only ask the two of you?"
"Yes, they only asked the two of us. Bekori came earlier too, but Dark Dragon chased him away."
"Damn it, Bear! Your two friends have probably already been captured. Let's go!"
"You've probably been spotted by Dark Dragon. If he comes to capture you, don't resist. Tell him we'll be there soon!"
After saying his last sentence, Kuma hung up the phone. Looking at the drooping Den Den Den Mushi, the cowboy duo exchanged bewildered glances. How had they been targeted? Were the Navy so powerful now? Could they read minds?
Despite their doubts, the two obediently put the Den Den Mushi back and stayed put. However, after waiting for a long time without the Navy coming to arrest them, they began to wonder if Dark Dragon was really targeting them.
Vic certainly had his eye on it, but after hearing Dragon's voice coming from the Den Den Mushi, Vic didn't go over.
Since Dragon is a smart guy on the other side, there's no need to kidnap him; we can just wait. As for whether Dragon is afraid of coming too?
Of course they weren't afraid. Vic wasn't there to kill Kuma, and with Garp's connection, the two had no reason to fight. The Revolutionary Army was targeting the Celestial Dragons, not the Marines.
