The exams were over, Andrew gathered all the Recruit Camp and announced some exciting news: two days off, to be used as they saw fit.
You can go to the residential or administrative areas, but you're not allowed to go to important places; they're guarded by soldiers.
Those who violate the rules will be punished; they will be given two days off every month from now on. Then the group was dismissed.
On his way back to his office, Andrew ran into a subject teacher from the Recruit Camp. The two greeted each other and passed by.
" Andrew, I haven't seen that student named Vic come to class either. How come he did so well on the test this time? You didn't do anything behind the scenes, did you?"
The old teacher suddenly turned around and spoke.
The teacher for this subject is very old, with decades of teaching experience, and is a highly respected senior figure in the Recruit Camp.
He was an upright teacher who couldn't tolerate cheating, especially when teachers helped others cheat.
This boy named Vic never attended class, but his unexpectedly good test scores aroused his suspicion.
"How could that be? I was just worried this student might cheat, so I've been personally monitoring him for the past two days. Did he do very well on the test?"
Andrew was surprised, as Vic always handed in his paper early.
"Of course, I personally graded all the papers. Not to mention other subjects, he got first place in this one. Isn't it strange that someone who never attends class got it?" The old teacher was very puzzled.
"I don't know about that. He told me on the first day that he had a strong self-learning ability, and I thought he was just bragging and trying to get into the Elite Camp based on his own abilities. I didn't expect him to be so really good!"
Andrew remembered what Vic had said to him with a smile.
"Alright, I'll go check on his other subjects. See you later!" The old teacher shook his head and left.
At the Recruit Camp, the cadets were overjoyed to hear the news of the holiday. They had been there for so long, either training or studying, and hadn't had a chance to see the world yet!
Vic was also somewhat surprised; it was rare to see the Navy being so humane. Vic actually wanted to go out for a stroll as well.
"I wonder if Smoker and the others are resting today? Could we hitch a ride to Sabaody?"
"I haven't fulfilled my promise to Rebecca about the amusement Paradise trip yet, and I can't neglect collecting rare metals either," Vic thought to himself, stroking his chin.
Then Vic took Rebecca to the Elite Camp, but they didn't see anyone Elite Camp.
"They're probably on holiday!"
Not seeing anyone was one thing, but Vic led Rebecca through the living quarters to the administrative area ahead, where they saw recruits in their uniforms wandering around.
Vic shook his head at the sight.
Vic had never worn one of these before; he believed that with his abilities, he would become a high-ranking officer after graduating from the Elite Camp.
He's at least a major, so there won't be many restrictions on wearing a military uniform then; he can just wear a righteous cloak.
Wearing a cloak was a privilege reserved for officers of the rank of colonel.
He was still dressed the same way, mostly in black, even his two knives were black.
If you become a lieutenant general in the future, your name might be something like black, or black, or ink, and there is also a character called xuan that also means black.
As for the animals, he doesn't have many choices among the twelve zodiac animals. As for other animal names, forget about them. With his strength, he should at least be a candidate for a Admiral!
In the navy, anyone with the potential to become Admiral is named after an animal from the Chinese zodiac and its color.
Characters like Kizaru, Akainu, Aokiji, Fujitora, Ryokugyu, Chaton, and Momousagi were all chosen from the twelve zodiac animals, either as Admiral or candidates for Admiral.
"There aren't many animals I can choose from. Snakes? Of course not, too cunning! Sheep? No, too docile! Rats? Still no, there's always the Vice Admiral Momonga!"
"A horse? That won't work either. Zephyr would be more suitable for this, because a horse always stands, until it dies!"
"So we'll have to reluctantly use 'dragon' as the title. Let's call him Dark Dragon then. It's decided then."
Looking at the cadets in their recruit uniforms, Vic even imagined what clothes he would wear and what title he would have if he became Admiral.
Vic was a little smug. Looking at all these titles, only his own had the right artistic conception, the right Haki Haki, and the right mystery!
"You really have to be cultured to choose a name!" Vic remarked.
Vic arrived at the square where they had met before, hoping to hitch a ride to Sabaody.
Upon arriving here, I discovered that most of the Elite Camp participants were here. The voices in the square weren't loud, but there were so many people talking that it was buzzing!
Vic spotted Smoker and Hina among the group.
He led Rebecca toward the two of them, wanting to ask what was wrong.
Weaving through the scattered crowd, Vic reached Smoker's side. He patted Smoker on the shoulder, Smoker turned around, saw it was Vic, then turned his head back to look at the sea.
"You guys are here too? This is your once-a-month vacation, you should really relax." Smoker said without turning around.
"Oh, so what are you all doing here? I think almost the entire Elite Camp has come here, right?" Vic asked, puzzled.
"We're just waiting for the procurement ship to Sabaody; we want to go Sabaody for a visit, and some of us are here to see our Vice Admiral generals."
Smoker explained.
"Who is it? Will Vice Admiral be returning today?"
Vic was a little curious, as he had only met Vice Admiral Garp and Tsuru so far, and had not met the others.
He was a little curious about who it was; could it be one of the Three Admirals?
As for the two Admiral Chaton and Momousagi, they probably haven't reached the rank of Vice Admiral yet.
"I don't know either. Teacher Zephyr told us yesterday that one of our Vice Admiral senior brothers was going back to headquarters today to report for duty, and that anyone who wanted to see him could come and take a look. Then a lot of people came, that's all."
Smoker briefly explained the reason.
"Hey Smoker, you're really not being fair! I've treated you to so many meals, and you never invite me when you go out. It hurts me so much. Next time you want to eat out, go catch some fish in the sea. I'm not lifting a finger."
Vic raised his head with an arrogant look. Smoker went out to have fun without him. His aunt could tolerate it, but his uncle couldn't!
"No, Vic, I have my reasons. We're just going to Sabaody for a nice meal. Don't you know how much you eat!"
"I only have this much allowance, how can it be enough for you to eat? I'm suffering! If you want to eat, you can just go and catch some from the sea, but I'm too scared to go in. I'll sink to the bottom! I'm really craving it too!"
Smoker lost interest in looking at the sea and quickly feigned pitifulness, pleading his case in a humble and subservient manner.
He's been going to Vic's place to eat every day, and he's getting a little too embarrassed to do it, so today he's planning to go to the Sabaody Archipelago for a big feast!
Rebecca and Hina both laughed, and Vic almost couldn't hold back either.
Vic was just joking with him; what you get outside might not taste as good as what he makes, and he always goes straight for the Sea Kings.
It's not so luxurious outside. He wouldn't even look at the little bit of Primal Spirit in those foods. He just didn't like Smoker's perpetually waiting-for-him-husband look and wanted to tease him.
"Fine, I'll let you off this time. But next time you come to my place for a meal, you'll have to help prepare firewood and tend the fire, otherwise you won't get anything to eat!"
Vic took the opportunity to put Smoker under pressure again.
"Okay, okay, I promise you, as long as you don't let me go into the sea..." Smoker readily agreed.
Vic ignored Smoker and waited, wanting to see how capable the Vice Admiral of this era were.
Rebecca and Hina were talking quietly nearby. Although there were many people around, they didn't speak very loudly, as everyone was very careful because the administrative district was right behind the square.
Not long after, a black dot appeared on the sea; a ship was approaching.
The ship was quite fast; the officers had all gathered at the Marine Base in Sabaody before coming together.
They are stationed in different sea areas and cannot meet at the same time, so they wait in Sabaody. Their presence can also strengthen law enforcement at the Sabaody Marine Base.
As the warship approached, the noise in the square grew louder, with everyone engaged in heated discussions.
Looking at this group of young people, Vic was impressed by their boundless energy and strong sense of idol worship. They admired and even idolized famous and talented individuals.
The warship had already docked at the port, and the port staff were already building the stairs. The trainees had already gathered around, but only Vic and his group of four remained stationary!
The main reason is that Vic doesn't want to move; he'll just watch from afar. He'll be able to do it himself in the future, so there's no need to rush!
Smoker had intended to go check on things, but seeing that Vic hadn't moved, he didn't go over.
The people on the ship had disembarked one by one, with Rear Admiral Strawberry, Vice Admiral Spider, and Vice Admiral Yamakaji leading the way, followed by some unfamiliar generals.
The three people in front were all much taller than average, around 2.78 meters.
Onigumo, dressed in a silver suit, tie, and Justice Cloak, with a beige helmet on his head, red feathers on top of the helmet fluttering in the sea breeze, long black hair peeking out from under the helmet, ten Western swords tucked into his waistband, a cigarette dangling from his mouth, and a sorrowful expression on his face.
Strawberry had a very long skull, probably more than half a meter tall, covered in hair like a black stick. He was fair-skinned and beardless, wearing a light blue suit and a Justice Cloak. He had two long swords at his waist, his hands in his pockets, and an expressionless face.
Yamakaji, a smiling face, eyes that are barely visible, wearing an ordinary soldier's cap, a cigar in his mouth, a full beard, a black suit, and a righteous cloak.
The three men stood out in the crowd, towering over the others. They looked excited as so many new recruits surrounded them, but their reactions varied.
Onigumo shouted, "What are you all doing here? What about naval discipline?!"
"You bunch of useless trash, you don't deserve to be soldiers in the Elite Camp. I heard you got taken down by a new recruit?"
"What a disgrace! If I were you, I wouldn't even have the face to stay in the Elite Camp. People like you will only become cannon fodder in the future!"
After saying that, Onigumo exhaled a puff of smoke.
The students surrounding them were dumbfounded. This was the powerful person they admired—how could he be so vicious? They had truly learned something new today.
The trainees were all dejected and badly hurt; some of the female trainees even cried.
"Is this what Vice Admiral is like? He speaks without any restraint, I never expected that..."
"That sounds nice, but why don't you go and try it yourself? Can you even beat that monster, Vic?"
"So what if he's Vice Admiral? I'm going to be an Admiral someday! And when I find a God Level Devil Fruit, I'm going to beat him up! Humph!"
" The Vice Admiral General is too scary, waaaaah, I want to go home..."
The scene erupted in chaos, with some refuting, some protesting, some crying, some remaining silent, and so on.
Onigumo, however, remained indifferent.
Yamakaji: " Onigumo, that's too much! It's so hurtful! How can someone so young take that?"
Onigumo merely snorted coldly, remaining silent, and looked at the student with disdain.
Strawberry remained silent, as he always did on such occasions!
These three individuals represent three factions within the Navy: Onigumo is a hawk, Yamakaji is a dove, and Strawberry is a centrist; they all have different understandings of justice.
