After proving himself in a bandit attack, he traveled near the Land of Fire and set out to find Might Guy, ending with a shout in the woods near the Valley of the End.

• Ye Zitong awoke in Shira’s body in the Naruto world and chose to build his strength through Taijutsu, while Gaara joined him for morning training.
• Shira befriended Gaara despite Rasa’s surveillance, and his warnings helped persuade Rasa to postpone Gaara’s adaptation test.
• Shira trained with Chiyo’s advice and salvaged equipment, earned respect at the Academy, and helped his parents’ snack shop with new pies.
• After learning that the Uchiha Clan had been wiped out, Shira traveled with his parents’ caravan toward the Land of Rivers, hoping to find Might Guy.

• Shira asked Might Guy to spar, pushed his Taijutsu with the First Activation, and took Guy’s advice to integrate breathing into basic forms through repetition.
• Shira returned to Sunagakure, reflected on the refugees’ suffering, and resolved to grow strong enough to protect people, and Ebizo warned him that his abilities had drawn dangerous attention.
• Rasa questioned Shira about defeating the bandits and his unusual burst of strength, while Shira defended his friendship with Gaara and argued that Gaara needed care rather than fear.
• Shira trained his weapons skills and won his academy sparring matches against Mamushi and Goji.

• Shira passed Baki’s exceptional Genin exam, celebrated with his family and friends, and joined I Fūgetsu’s reconnaissance squad.
• The squad traveled to Kusagakure, where Shira spotted Fang and fought him and Nighthawk while I Fūgetsu’s team battled Grass Ninja.
• Shira urged the squad to rescue the captive Uzumaki Kei and her daughter Karin, and they escaped Kusagakure with both women.
• Shira collapsed from his injuries and delayed neurotoxin, but Chiyo treated him, and Sunagakure later welcomed Kei and Karin as villagers.

Shira challenged Saya, discovered his chakra attributes, and joined a caravan escort mission to Konoha, where he faced his first deaths and struggled with their aftermath. In Konoha, he searched for Rock Lee and finally found him, though Lee did not recognize Shira.

• Shira challenged Saya at the Sakugutsu Clan compound, defeated Mamushi in combat, and broke Saya’s mental control with his own mental power.
• Shira learned from Granny Chiyo that he had lightning and fire chakra attributes with a weak water trait, then chose to explore applying lightning and fire to his attacks.
• Shira joined Reppu’s escort team for a caravan bound for Konoha and helped fight Viper’s bandits at Rolling Stone Gorge, killing Giant Rock and helping defeat the attackers.
