His father also taught him that the sword is “an instrument for protecting the Dao.” A memory of kneeling before his father’s memorial and cleaning his sword becomes an anchor against the Consciousness Prison’s attempts to rewrite his past 47.

Journey to Jia Nan Academy

Lin Xiuya meets Xiao Yan and Ya Fei at a waystation after Wang Teng tries to take his reserved room. Their intervention begins an alliance strengthened by shared alchemy interests. During the journey, Xiao Yan protects him from Black Wind Bandits, while Lin Xiuya supplies medicine and shares his family’s alchemy book 19.

At Jia Nan Academy, he joins Xiao Yan and Ya Fei in the Fire Energy Hunting Competition. His knockout drugs earn two of their fourteen combined tokens. Although Xiao Yan receives direct Inner Academy admission, Lin Xiuya remains outside and receives a substantial Fire Energy reward 20.

Flame-Locking Fragments & Burning Heaven Valley

Mo Feng’s attempt to seize Lin Xiuya’s Flame-Locking Array fragment brings him into the struggle over the Fallen Heart Flame’s seal. He helps Xiao Yan and Zi Yan confront Burning Heaven Valley at Soul-Breaking Cliff, then joins the expedition to the Ten Thousand Beasts Forest and Gu Clan ruins 23 24 26.

In the Central Plains, he fights Burning Heaven Valley forces, helps prepare the Myriad Flames Returning to the Origin Array, and identifies the concealed controller of a spatial trap. During the Gu Clan altar defense, he guards the left flank, kills an Evil Clan Warlord with Xiao Yan’s flame support, and helps restrain the final general. He subsequently assists in obtaining Star Sand for the seal’s repair 27 28 29 30 31.

Trials Across the Planes

Lin Xiuya passes the Myriad Races’ Furnace trials and strengthens his sword intent through Bone Fire tempering. In the Elemental Prison, he demonstrates wind-and-lightning sword enhancement and guides the group through the Eye of the Storm to obtain the lightning fragment 37 38.

His later contributions emphasize scouting and precise attacks: finding Mechanical City’s ventilation route, destroying the Crystal Core Guardian’s chest crystal, and striking a crack in the Energy-Devouring Core. He also helps overcome the Cloud Sea Heavenly Palace’s trials and enters the Realm of Nothingness with the team 39 41 43 45 46.

Guardian Heritage & the Core of Chaos

Within the Consciousness Prison, Lin Xiuya breaks an illusion that falsifies his father’s teachings. At the Tower of Time, he reveals his guardian ancestry and opens the gate with his blood. He then blocks the Time Eroder’s attack while Xiao Yan purifies the Core of Chaos 47 48.

After becoming a Plane Guardian, he accompanies the team to the Forgotten Plane, where his father’s diary places a guardian inheritance. He helps clear memory-devouring vines and fight temple guards, then battles Soul Devourers in the Void Rift, exposing insect energy sacs and severing three of a Mother Beast’s egg-laying tubes 48 49 50.
