Background / History

Spirit Hall and the Heaven Dou Infiltration

Qian Renxue was Spirit Hall’s holy maiden and a prodigy with an Angel Martial Soul. Using the Angel Soul Bone’s transformation ability, she impersonated Xue Qinghe and infiltrated the Heaven Dou imperial court for years. Her disguise deceived both Emperor Xue Ye and Ning Fengzhi 2 4.

She mysteriously disappeared from the Heaven Dou Imperial Palace and arrived near an unfamiliar mountain. Enormous sky screens appeared across Douluo Continent, broadcasting her experiences alongside those of Tang San, who had also vanished into the other world 1.

Admission to Sword-Seeking Peak

After a vendor refused to answer her questions without spirit stones, Qian Renxue followed the crowds to the Primordial Sect. She passed safely through its mountain-protecting formation, but a reception disciple immediately recognized her concealment technique. Required to remove it, she exposed her true identity to the entire Douluo Continent through the sky screen 2 4.

At the Ascension Assembly, she tested as having Metal-Fire Dual Spiritual Roots. Although her aptitude was excellent, the sect master considered her unknown background a security concern. He ordered Ye Lingtian to house her at the sparsely populated Sword-Seeking Peak as a maid while her origins were investigated 8.

Qian Renxue reluctantly accepted because she had no other support or shelter. Ye Lingtian subsequently explained that the assignment reflected the sect’s caution rather than poor talent, and promised cultivation resources if she behaved responsibly 9 10 11.

Beginning Immortal Cultivation

Ye Lingtian gave her his self-created Lingtian Qi-Guiding Art, since she could not yet learn the sect’s cultivation arts. Following his warning that Soul Power and the new art’s energy would conflict, she allowed him to remove her Soul Saint cultivation 11 12.

Her first obstacle was unfamiliar terminology: she could read the manual but did not understand acupoints or the dantian. Ye Lingtian supplied explanations and a diagram, which she memorized in three days. Through the sky screen, factions across Douluo Continent also copied the manual and diagram 12 13 15.

Learning that cultivation could lead to greatly extended lifespans and ultimately eternal life dispelled her regret over starting again. Nevertheless, she became frustrated when her first half-hour of practice produced no sensation of Qi. Ye Lingtian reminded her that this step required patience and comprehension rather than outside assistance 14 15 16.

When he departed to confront Soul-Devouring Zhenren, she remained behind under Sword-Seeking Peak’s protective formation. By the time a week had passed, she had successfully sensed Qi and begun cultivating, while continuing to clean the peak daily 16 30.

Recognition and Prospective Discipleship

Upon returning to Sword-Seeking Peak, Xie Ningshuang questioned Qian Renxue about her cultivation manual. Believing Ye Lingtian might be punished for teaching her, Qian Renxue falsely claimed she had stolen it. Xie Ningshuang reassured her that sharing personally created techniques was permitted, welcomed her, and gave her cultivation supplies 31.

Ye Lingtian later presented her with a flying sword to mark her entry into the Dao. When she sought to become his disciple, she initially mistook his delay for rejection. He clarified that he was preparing to attempt a Nascent Soul breakthrough, and she agreed to wait until he emerged from seclusion before performing the discipleship ceremony 33 36.

Appearance

  • Golden hair: Falls over her shoulders in her true form. Its conspicuous color causes people in the cultivation world to label her a “barbarian” 2 4 7.
  • True form: Described as a woman of peerless beauty, with softer features than her male disguise 4.
  • Xue Qinghe disguise: A blond man with heroic features, convincingly maintained through the Angel Soul Bone’s transformation ability 1 4.

Personality

Qian Renxue takes pride in her talent and former standing, making the transition from holy maiden and crown prince to maid deeply humiliating. Even so, she repeatedly suppresses her anger rather than jeopardize her chance of remaining in the Primordial Sect. Once Ye Lingtian explains the arrangement, she acknowledges his protection and expresses gratitude 2 9 10 11.

Accustomed to smooth progress as a Soul Master, she initially expects rapid results from immortal cultivation. Her difficulty sensing Qi exposes that impatience, while the prospect of eternal life gives her a stronger reason to persevere 14 15 16.

She is conscientious about her obligations and protective of those who help her. She maintains Sword-Seeking Peak during Ye Lingtian’s absence to avoid bringing him trouble, and volunteers to accept punishment for supposedly stealing his manual. She also reacts with anger to the massacre of innocent city residents, though her lost cultivation prevents her from joining the mission against the perpetrators 16 30 31.

Abilities & Skills

Angel Martial Soul and Soul Power

Her original power system made her one of Douluo Continent’s foremost prodigies 2 7.

  • Awakened with level-twenty innate Soul Power 16.
  • Reached Soul Saint before entering the cultivation world 2.
  • Deliberately relinquished that cultivation to practice the Lingtian Qi-Guiding Art safely 12.

Transformation and Infiltration

The Angel Soul Bone allowed her to assume Xue Qinghe’s male appearance 4.

  • Sustained a long-term infiltration of the Heaven Dou imperial court.
  • Fooled experienced figures including Xue Ye and Ning Fengzhi.
  • Could not conceal her disguise from the Primordial Sect’s reception disciple and formation-assisted screening 4.

Metal-Fire Dual Spiritual Roots

Her aptitude test produces clear gold and scarlet light, identifying her metal and fire attributes 8.

  • Ye Lingtian considers her aptitude excellent enough to qualify for true discipleship elsewhere 10.
  • He initially regards Pill Peak or Artifact Peak as suitable placements for her 8.
  • Her strong roots do not eliminate the need to independently comprehend and sense Qi 16.

Lingtian Qi-Guiding Art

Ye Lingtian’s personally created basic cultivation art provides her entry into immortal cultivation 11 30.

  • Requires knowledge of acupoints and the dantian, concepts absent from her previous training 12 13.
  • Enables her to sense Qi after continued practice 30.
  • Is distinct from the Primordial Sect’s restricted cultivation arts; teaching it to her does not violate sect rules 31.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Angel Soul Bone — Source of the transformation ability used for her Xue Qinghe disguise 4.
  • Lingtian Qi-Guiding Art manual — Given by Ye Lingtian as her starting cultivation method 11.
  • Acupoint diagram — Study aid supplied by Ye Lingtian and memorized in three days 13 15.
  • Qi Condensation Pills — Gifts from Xie Ningshuang 31.
  • Gentle Water Sword Manual — Given alongside the pills by Xie Ningshuang 31.
  • Unnamed flying sword — A low-grade weapon formerly used by Ye Lingtian. He once used it at Early Foundation Establishment to kill a Middle Foundation Establishment demonic cultivator, then gifted it to Qian Renxue after she entered the Dao 33.

Relationships

  • Ye Lingtian — Protector, cultivation instructor, employer, and prospective master. Qian Renxue is attracted to him from their first meeting and becomes increasingly attached through his assistance. Her arrival also helps resolve his longstanding obsession with finding another transmigrator, loosening his cultivation bottleneck; a completed discipleship ceremony or mutual romance is not shown 6 9 11 36.
  • Xie Ningshuang — Sword-Seeking Peak master and Ye Lingtian’s teacher. Accepts Qian Renxue as one of their own, provides resources, and reassures her about Ye Lingtian’s safety 31.
  • Qian Daoliu — Grandfather. Initially furious at her maid assignment and loss of cultivation, he becomes supportive after seeing her protection, resources, and prospects for longevity 1 9 11 14 31.
  • Bibi Dong — Mother. Frequently mocks Qian Renxue’s humiliations and attraction to Ye Lingtian, but later envies the opportunities opened by her prospective discipleship 9 11 36.
  • Daoist Qingxu — Primordial Sect master. Orders her temporary placement under observation at Sword-Seeking Peak because the formation can establish her lack of malice but not verify her origins 8 11.
  • Emperor Xue Ye — Ruler deceived by her impersonation of his crown prince. After her identity is exposed, he condemns her and celebrates her apparent setbacks 4 11.

Trivia

  • Ye Lingtian’s sword gift carries unintended romantic significance for her: on Douluo Continent, swords can signify imperial esteem, and some clans use them as love tokens. She knows he is unaware of these customs but is moved nonetheless 33.
