Arc 4The Age of Centralization
Shu Shiraishi transformed Konoha into an industrial and military power, using captured tailed beasts to fuel its factories, aircraft, communications network, and nuclear weapon. After testing the weapon and declaring a new age of centralization, he faced surrender envoys from the Land of Lightning and the Land of Earth and demanded their sovereignty.
- Konoha sank Kirigakure’s fleet, and Shu Shiraishi learned that the Third Raikage had died supplying chakra for the aircraft carrier.
- Shu ordered Aburame Shikuroo to capture Roshi and Han, then Orochimaru drained the Four-Tails’ and Five-Tails’ chakra to power Konoha’s generators and carrier.
- Konoha’s booming factories polluted the village, so Shu ordered waste piped into the Land of Wind, poisoning Sunagakure and prompting the Third Kazekage and Chiyo to attack.
- Uchiha Shinya led fighter jets that defeated Sunagakure’s counterattack, while Hiruko developed synthetic beasts and Orochimaru and Dan Katō built a portable phone and chakra-monitoring network.
- Shu intercepted Ōnoki and Dodai’s attack plan and sent mechs to stop it, while Shimura Danzō awakened Shisui’s Mangekyō Sharingan but failed to control a mech and was killed by Shu.
- Orochimaru and Tsunade developed a chakra-sealed bomb and regenerative enzyme, and Might Duy survived the treatment and became strong enough to open all Eight Gates.
- Shu and Orochimaru launched the nuclear bomb by railgun at an uninhabited island, where it caused a devastating blast and tsunami witnessed by leaders across the Shinobi World.
- Shu declared the age of great centralization, prompting Ōnoki to cancel his operation and envoys from the Land of Lightning and the Land of Earth to offer surrender letters, which Shu accepted only in exchange for their sovereignty.
