Feiguang was raised by Chen Shuangbai from infancy and became his first contracted spirit beast. As a young eagle, he repeatedly stripped bark from the same spiritual pine outside Chen Shuangbai’s cave abode. A faint moon marking on his forehead prompted Chen Shuangbai to consult the Book Spirit, who identified it as a favorable sign of slight ancestral bloodline reversion 30 159 547.

Chen Shuangbai’s pills, food, and cultivation resources accelerated his growth. By the time he approached young adulthood, a process normally requiring at least fifteen years in the wild, his plumage resisted casual strikes from the Cold Spring Sword. Spirit-feeding pills also developed his intelligence, which eventually became comparable to that of a human cultivator 72 95 277.

Early Battles and Sect Life

Feiguang earned his first recorded combat distinction by diving from above and beheading a female Heart-Eroding Stronghold cultivator. After returning to Lesser Yang Peak, Chen Shuangbai celebrated their victory and rewarded him with spirit-nourishing pills 43 45.

He later protected Chen Shuangbai against an ambush with Cold Wind and intercepted the fleeing monk Huiming at Compassionate Light Temple. Chen Shuangbai also entrusted him with hunting the temple’s escaped monks 98 114.

Three years roaming around Wind Howling Ford strengthened Feiguang’s hunting instincts but made him unruly. After he bullied several young cranes within the sect, a White Jade Crane brought him back to Chen Shuangbai. His master apologized with superior-quality Spirit-Feeding Pills and confined Feiguang to Lesser Yang Peak for three days 159 165 166.

War, Sea Training, and Attendant Duties

During an operation against the Heart-Eroding Stronghold, Feiguang watched from high altitude while Chen Shuangbai’s party traveled below. His warning about suspicious butterflies exposed an ambush. Once Chen Shuangbai breached the enemy formation, Feiguang carried all four cultivators into the clouds 217.

At sea, Chen Shuangbai deliberately pitted him against dangerous beasts, healing his wounds with Life-Accepting Spirit Liquid and the Sweet Dew Incantation. Feiguang killed an Iron-Spined Venomous Dragonfish and later fought a Mystic Bone Ink Scale Python at Turbulent Current Reef, where combat triggered his Foundation Establishment transformation 277 278 287 288.

After learning human speech and transformation, Feiguang chose a boy attendant’s appearance because he wanted to share Chen Shuangbai’s burdens. He delivered invitations and received guests for the celebration at Cloud-Resting Terrace, then increasingly accompanied his master openly rather than remaining inside a beast token 385 396.

Guardian and Nascent Soul Combatant

Feiguang fought alongside Bai Yi in the Clear Scenery Alliance’s campaign and regularly drove lesser demons away from Jade Screen Peak. Chen Shuangbai specifically instructed him to expel intruders without killing indiscriminately 423 462.

He later accompanied Chen Shuangbai into a restricted palace, bypassed its formation, and destroyed three jade guardians containing Golden Core demon souls. During his master’s outer-sea seclusion, he and Changming guarded the island, maintained its formation, and checked for approaching sea creatures during storm season 629 642 643.

After attaining Nascent Soul, Feiguang pressured enemy True Lords through repeated high-speed ambushes. He subsequently pursued and captured True Lord Tingqiao’s fleeing nascent soul, taking his nine demonic banners and ghost ship as spoils 833 853.

Missions Abroad

Feiguang delivered Chen Shuangbai’s decree to Beigong Xuan in the Vermilion Dew Sea. When the flood dragon attacked him, the decree—not Feiguang’s own strike—released sword light that severed half of Beigong Xuan’s dark dragon claw 869.

While scouting Dingyang Pass in peregrine falcon form, Feiguang detected five Nascent Soul cultivators before a pale-blue mystic strike apparently killed him. He subsequently re-formed beside Chen Shuangbai without injury; the supplied account does not identify the mechanism behind his survival 900 901.

In White Emperor City, Feiguang rented an alchemy chamber for Chen Shuangbai and sold surplus pills to replenish their resources. He also served visiting cultivators while continuing his own cultivation 916.

Appearance

• Original eagle form: Snow-white feathers with a metallic sheen, hooked talons, sharp eyes, and a faint moon-shaped forehead mark. As he matured, his feathers developed fine silver borders 30 72 159.
• Foundation Establishment form: Jade-like feathers with golden tips, golden halos around his pupils, and a forehead marking resembling an eye 288.
• Golden Core form: A white eagle with gilded wings, an azure jade crown, and a gold-and-white moon mark between his brows 602.
• Nascent Soul form: Golden-white plumage edged in faint deep-blue light; white pupils containing diamond shapes with a five-colored, glazed-glass luster; and a deep-blue flame between his brows 821.
• Human form: Initially a handsome thirteen- or fourteen-year-old boy with two sweeping white forehead plumes and a gold-trimmed feather robe. After his Nascent Soul transformation, he appeared as a young man in golden-white feather robes and a blue-green crown 385 821.

Personality

Feiguang is affectionate toward Chen Shuangbai and openly enjoys his attention. He nuzzles his master, proudly seeks praise after victories, and sometimes pretends to be pitiful or rubs against him to beg for pills. Chen Shuangbai recognizes him as both clever and an accomplished actor 30 45 72.

His playful behavior can become bullying. He frightened the height-averse Gray Ball with aerial acrobatics, intimidated Changming, and used his cultivation advantage against younger cranes. He nevertheless submits quickly to Chen Shuangbai’s reprimands and moderates his conduct when ordered 159 165 462 616 625.

His strongest ambition is to remain useful to his master. Falling behind Chen Shuangbai’s cultivation troubled him, and he endured painful lightning tempering to regain the ability to help in battle. He can be possessive of his place as the first contracted spirit beast, showing instinctive jealousy toward other demon beasts receiving Chen Shuangbai’s attention 547 561 602.

Flight and Sky Rending

Sky Rending briefly increases Feiguang’s flight speed by activating patterns across his wings 94 289.
