As it turned out, ten years ago, an obscure Lowgod on the Boya Continent-Aogemate-had suddenly broken through to become a God.
Moreover, Aogemate was extraordinarily ambitious. He actually wanted to dominate the entire continent, and had even ordered all the other Lowgods and Saint-level experts on the Boya Continent to submit to him.
Although there were quite a few deities residing on the Boya Continent, almost all of them were Lowgods. As a result, when Aogemate suddenly emerged, no one could deal with him for a time.
That was not to say the Boya Continent had never produced Gods. It was simply that beings of that level almost never stayed long in a Material Plane.
Once they grew tired of their invincible lives in a Material Plane, they would eventually head to the endlessly fascinating Divine Planes or Higher Planes.
At this point, Darren continued, "Aogemate is a deeply scheming man of ambition. He had already begun laying his plans in secret back when he was still a Lowgod."
"He secretly established an organization called the Tower of Black in the Fitelie Empire. Ostensibly, it tested and guided Saint-level experts, but in reality, it was meant to select talented Saint-level experts so he could bring them under his control."
"When he first emerged, he already had a follower under him who had broken through to become a Lowgod. As for the other Saint-level experts under his control, there were even more of those." In truth, Darren also felt a chill at Aogemate's forbearance and ambition.
When Darren mentioned the Tower of Black, Luo Ao instantly recalled the Mr. Gelike he had met years ago. He was probably one of the Saint-level experts Aogemate had brought under his control.
"Back when Aogemate was still a Lowgod, he kept a very low profile and barely interacted with other Deity Level experts. But the moment he broke through, his true nature was laid bare. He actually dreamed of ruling the entire Boya Continent alone, and even styled himself the 'God King.'"
From just those few words of Darren's, Luo Ao could already imagine how arrogant this fellow had become.
"A mere God actually has the nerve to call himself the 'God King'? Who gave him that confidence?" Luo Ao almost admired Aogemate's fearless ignorance.
Although the Boya Continent was only a Material Plane, in his view, there were definitely other powerful experts on it now.
Of those he knew alone, even setting aside the one on Starflame Mountain, that "Shadow" from last time was probably stronger than a newly advanced God like Aogemate, wasn't he?
To dare call himself the God King as a mere God-Aogemate's sheer thick skin had completely reshaped Luo Ao's understanding.
"Don't think he's just saying it for fun. Aogemate really does have quite a few formidable methods. If we didn't have you, Luo Ao, the rest of us truly wouldn't know what to do." Darren then continued describing Aogemate's tyranny and viciousness.
"The very first time Aogemate made a move, he killed a Lowgod outright, causing that great empire to fall apart in an instant. He even bestowed the Divine Spark on a Saint-level expert under him to refine. By now, he has a dozen or so Lowgod experts under his command alone." Luo Ao was somewhat stunned to hear this.
The fact that Aogemate cultivated the Edicts of Death was indeed a little troublesome. If he kept developing like a rolling snowball, and no sufficiently powerful expert stepped forward to stop him, the other Lowgods would be powerless against his methods even if they banded together.
"Fortunately, after taking control of more than ten empires in succession, Aogemate hasn't shown any intention of continuing to hunt down the other Lowgods for now. But he has also issued an ultimatum to all the Deity Level and Saint-level experts on the Boya Continent." Bourne picked up the thread. This was precisely what he had been worried about.
"An ultimatum?" Luo Ao already had a rough idea of what it entailed.
"Aogemate only gave the other experts at Saint-level and above on the continent ten years to make their choice. Within those ten years, they must either report to his divine court and declare their submission, or get themselves off to a Divine Plane or Higher Plane. They aren't allowed to remain on the Boya Continent."
Clearly, Aogemate intended to live as the sole supreme ruler of the Boya Continent.
"Once those ten years are up, Aogemate will come knocking on the doors of anyone who still hasn't made a choice, one by one." There were only a few days left before that ten-year deadline, which was why Bourne and Darren had been so anxious.
"Either submit to him, be forced to leave for a Divine Plane, or be killed by him." Those were the three choices Aogemate had left the other experts.
Clearly, not one of those three choices was acceptable to them.
They had all been living free and unfettered lives, yet now they suddenly had to submit to someone else and become his subordinates?
As for going to those exceedingly dangerous Divine Planes, Lowgods might still have a sliver of a chance at survival, but wouldn't Saint-level experts simply be going to their deaths?
"Alas, the main problem is that Aogemate is far too tyrannical. Serving under him is no different from being a slave. Some Saint-level experts are even directly controlled and turned into Soul Slaves, so many experts have already left the Boya Continent."
Although going to a Divine Plane was dangerous, it was still better than becoming Aogemate's slave. Powerless to resist, they could naturally only choose to flee.
"There are already very few experts left in the Boya Plane. You could say that Aogemate has become the Sovereign of the entire Boya Continent." Previously, there had been quite a few Deity Level experts on the Boya Continent.
But now? Even Saint-level experts were rarely seen.
"Luo Ao, thank goodness you broke through earlier. Otherwise, the two of us were getting ready to wake you up and discuss how to handle this." A trace of relief showed on Darren's face. Fortunately, they had Luo Ao on their side. Otherwise, they too would have faced that dilemma.
"To think a greedy, tyrannical fellow like him could actually break through to become a God. It really is..." Speaking of this, Bourne was utterly helpless as well.
He had originally been overjoyed after refining that Darkness Divine Spark and becoming a deity.
But before he could enjoy it for long, that damned Aogemate had suddenly jumped out to stir up wind and rain, filling the Boya Continent with foul smoke and leaving everyone everywhere on edge.
Had Luo Ao not been there, he and Darren truly would not have known what to do on their own.
After all, the gap between a Lowgod and a God was like the distance between heaven and earth, not to mention that Aogemate now had quite a few Deity Level subordinates serving as his claws and fangs.
"I understand. Don't worry. Leave this to me. Where is Aogemate now?" Luo Ao was fairly confident in his current strength. Killing Aogemate should not be difficult.
He simply had not expected to encounter something like this the moment he emerged from seclusion.
Seeing this, Bourne hurriedly asked again, "Luo Ao, don't push yourself. Are you sure you really can do this? Aogemate has quite a few Deity Level subordinates."
Hearing this, Luo Ao immediately replied with confidence, "Don't worry, Father. Just tell me where he is now."
Luo Ao was not blindly confident. He estimated that, with his current strength, he could hold his own for a while even against an ordinary Highgod.
And Aogemate was merely a God who had just broken through. How strong could he be?
Although they were both newly advanced Gods, Luo Ao had fused two profound mysteries. Moreover, he had undergone Soul Mutation, and his soul was naturally incomparably powerful. He had absolutely no need to fear the Soul Attacks Aogemate excelled at.
Going to kill Aogemate could hardly be considered a risk.
The only thing that puzzled him was why that fellow called "Shadow" had never made a move before.
He cultivated the Darkness Law and had already begun fusing profound mysteries. He should have been fully capable of assassinating this Aogemate.
"Never mind. I'll make the trip myself." Since that fellow would not act, he would simply go over and remove this malignant tumor himself.
