Upon hearing Hagrid say "bald," Hugo immediately pressed, "Guarding what?"
Hagrid shook his head like a startled dog. "I can't say, it's a secret."
Neville's expression tightened slightly, but he controlled it well, not showing too much urgency, only his tone became a little more serious. "We saw Quirrell trying to break in there, but your Fluffy stopped him."
Ron chimed in quietly, "That's right, we saw it."
Hagrid's smile faded slightly, but he still shook his head. "Impossible. Fluffy wouldn't bite Quirrell. I told Fluffy not to bite the professor, and Quirrell and Fluffy are very close; they're friends."
Draco looked up from her notebook and asked, "So what does it like to eat?"
Hagrid seemed to have been pulled back into his most comfortable conversational area and began to talk enthusiastically again. "Legs of lamb, beef, roast chicken, anything with bones is fine. He especially loves honey, but you can't feed him too much, or his teeth will hurt. Last time I took him to see Professor Kettleburn. Professor Kettleburn is really amazing; he can even pull Fluffy's teeth!"
Neville tried to steer the conversation back on track. " Hagrid, but we did see it, Quirrell definitely has a problem."
Hagrid waved his hand. "The professors Dumbledore arranged won't be a problem, so don't speculate."
Then he turned to Draco and began to talk about Fluffy's daily life. Draco kept her head down, taking notes in her notebook, occasionally looking up to ask a few more questions about the details.
Neville sat to the side, opening his mouth several times but failing to get a word in edgewise. Hugo also gave up on her original intention to ask further questions. Only Ron muttered quietly, "He clearly came to ask about serious matters..."
Upon hearing this, Draco paused in her quill, turned her head to look at Ron, and said, "You think we're here to play around?"
Ron blushed again, and was about to say something when Neville spoke first, "Alright, we're all Hagrid's friends, let's stop arguing."
Herman sat silently to the side, watching Hagrid's excited face and then Neville's hesitant expression. He knew very well that Hagrid truly did not suspect Quirrell of having any problems, nor did he suspect Snape, because these were all things Dumbledore had decided, and a few words were not enough to sway him.
Neville clearly realized this and tried several more times to change the subject, but every time he brought up Quirrell or the third-floor corridor, Hagrid would either wave his hand or shake his head, or quickly turn back to talk to Draco about Fluffy's daily life.
As he was leaving, Neville stood at the door and glanced back at Hagrid, trying one last time. " Hagrid, Quirrell really is suspicious, we all saw it."
Hagrid patted him on the shoulder, so hard that he sank down a bit. "Don't worry, Dumbledore's here, everything'll be fine."
Neville didn't say anything more, and walked towards the castle with his head down. Hugo followed beside him, and Ron followed behind.
Draco walked beside Herman, clutching the notebook filled with Fluffy's eating habits, a satisfied look on her face indicating a fruitful day.
Herman walked for a while and then looked back; Hagrid's Hut had become a small outline in the distance.
He turned around and continued walking, the dull pain in his shoulder still throbbing. Today, he had confirmed at least one thing: seeking treatment from Hagrid was probably out of the question.
Hagrid himself was a walking steel fortress, and couldn't possibly understand what a "wound left by residual magic" meant.
Neville walked at the front, his pace much slower than when he arrived. After walking for a while, he finally spoke, "At least we've learned one thing."
Hugo asked, "What?"
Neville didn't turn around. " Fluffy is that Cerberus, and he has a high resistance to ordinary magic."
Hugo paused for a moment, then nodded.
Ron whispered from behind, "But we still don't know what Quirrell wants, how to deal with that Fluffy, and even Hagrid doesn't trust us..."
Neville shook his head. "That's the next step, and Hagrid mentioned a name."
Hugo quickly said, " Nicolas Flamel, we can start our investigation here."
Herman, who was at the back of the group, overheard the three people's conversation.
However, Herman wasn't very interested in these things. After all, he had tried them himself, and Cerberus was something a junior wizard couldn't handle. He could only resort to tricks, such as the method in the original book, playing music for Fluffy.
However, Herman's current goal is not some elusive Philosopher's Stone, but rather to find a way to heal his shoulder injury and avoid actual amputation.
When Herman returned to the common room, Harry was sitting in an armchair by the fireplace, flipping through a book. She glanced up at him as he entered, her gaze lingering on his face for a moment. "Looks like you didn't get the medicine."
Herman sat down beside him. " Hagrid is Half-giant himself, he doesn't need any medicine to heal his wounds."
Harry nodded, then said with a wicked grin, "Looks like you'll have to beg me."
Herman stared at Harry for a while, and seeing that she showed no sign of speaking, he finally couldn't hold back. "What do you want from me?"
Harry didn't speak, but simply closed the book in her hand and placed it on her lap. Then she pulled out a roll of parchment from the inside of her robe. It was rolled rather haphazardly, with some curled edges, as if she had just stuffed it in there.
She threw the roll of parchment toward Herman, Herman instinctively reached out and caught it.
He glanced down at the parchment scroll, and before he could even read its contents, a thought popped into his head: Could it be a healing scroll? But there aren't any like that in Harry Potter.
But the magical world has everything; it's just that I'm unfamiliar with it and haven't been thinking scientifically enough!
Herman was also in a bit of a desperate situation, looking up at Harry and asking, "This can be used by just tearing it up, right?"
Harry frowned slightly, her gaze lingering on his face for a couple of seconds. "That roll of paper is for writing formulas, not for tearing. Why didn't you let it bandage you up? That would have made more sense. Are you already terminally ill, affecting your brain?"
Herman, realizing what she meant, awkwardly looked away from the parchment. "It's nothing, I just used to read some random online novels that often wrote things like that..."
Harry didn't press for details about what "online novels" meant, probably categorizing it as something that didn't require further investigation, like " Herman occasionally uses strange words."
She pointed to the scroll of parchment. " Potions recipe that can solve your problem."
Herman quickly bent down and unfolded the parchment. The writing on it was in deep black ink, with long, thin, and smooth strokes. There were no scribbles or gibberish; it was just normal writing.
The content is indeed a Potions -making process, with a clear list of materials and numbered steps.
"Where did you get this?" Harry leaned back in her armchair, her tone as casual as if she were asking what she had for lunch, "From Snape's office."
