Veterinary medicine

Herman sat there, picking up the now-cold cup of tea in his hand and putting it down again.

His gaze fell on the flickering flames in the fireplace, and he went over the clue he had just seen in his mind again.

The big black dog is probably not like the one from back then, but it is exactly the same one from back then, to be precise, it is Sirius Black.

He glanced at Harry beside him, whose expression remained calm. She showed no curiosity or interest in asking questions about the big black dog Hagrid had mentioned, as if the message was completely unsurprising to her.

Once I figured this out, many things started to go smoothly.

Harry already knew her godfather was nearby, or rather, Sirius came to Hogsmeade specifically to see her.

That makes sense. Sirius never followed school rules and regulations during his student days, so how could he suddenly change his ways after graduation? It's perfectly reasonable for him to secretly visit his goddaughter.

Thinking about it this way, it probably wasn't intentional for Harry to stand her and Draco yesterday. Sirius, a wanted criminal, came to Hogsmeade to see her; she couldn't very well say, "Wait a minute, I'll wait until I'm free."

As for Harry's questioning about Vampire today, it's probably because she's realized that Hogsmeade is now a melting pot of all sorts of people, and the large number of unknown individuals gathering there makes it easier for Sirius to hide. That's why she hopes this chaos can continue for a while.

As for safety, Harry didn't care about such a minor issue at all.

Harry and Draco each gained something: Draco received Hagrid's promise, and Harry confirmed that Hogsmeade would remain in chaos for a while longer.

Only Herman knew the tragic news that Vampire might be living in the castle, and today was another day of sorrow for Herman alone.

The three sat in the room, each with their own thoughts Draco was happily chatting with Hagrid about when they could go to Hogsmeade when suddenly a scream rang out from the corner of the room, as if someone had been bitten hard by something.

Everyone looked in the direction of the sound and saw that Fang was biting Crabbe's hand tightly, its four sharp teeth deeply embedded in his arm, refusing to let go no matter what.

Goyle was pulling Fang's hind legs back with all his might, trying to drag Fang down.

But it was clear that the hounds Hagrid had taken into the Forbidden Forest for hunting were not so easy to shake off. Goyle tried to pull them away for a long time but couldn't budge them at all. Instead, he was dragged forward a few steps by Fang.

Herman saw the sharp fangs of the Fang piercing Crabbe's arm, blood dripping from between the teeth, spreading a small dark patch on the ground, and he felt pain for Crabbe.

Draco let out a sharp, long scream, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.

Harry reacted the fastest, her hand already on her wand, a tiny spark igniting at the tip, as if she was about to strike.

Although Crabbe wasn't exactly a close friend of hers, he was, after all, Draco, which was practically her underling too. She couldn't just watch him get bitten and retaliated against.

Before the young wizards could even make a move, Hagrid rushed over, taking two or three large strides to reach them. He supported Fang's belly with one hand and firmly pressed down on Fang's head with the other, his voice not loud but carrying an unyielding weight. " Fang, let go."

Hagrid was indeed skilled at taming beasts. Upon hearing the command, Fang almost instinctively released its grip. The moment Fang was pulled from Crabbe's arm, blood gushed out like a faucet with its plug turned on, spraying directly onto Goyle's face, who was closest to it.

Before Goyle could even scream, the stench made him shake his head, and then he fell backward to the ground with a thud.

Draco's scream rose another notch.

Herman didn't shout; instead, he grabbed the tablecloth draped over the small coffee table and rushed over to stop Crabbe's bleeding.

As he approached and prepared to wrap the tablecloth around it, he suddenly noticed the Scabbers on the cloth, the edges of which were covered with dark, old stains, and it emitted a faint musty smell.

This is far from sterile; it's practically like a petri dish. Wrapping it around would be the mildest form of tetanus. He hesitated for a moment, wondering whether he should press the cloth onto it.

By this time, Crabbe's face had begun to turn pale, whether from fright or from excessive blood loss, it was hard to tell. A thin layer of white appeared around the edges of his lips, and he swayed unsteadily as if he might collapse at any moment.

Herman gritted his teeth, just about to fold the tablecloth and use it, when Harry walked over and nudged him aside. "Don't make things worse."

As she spoke, she pressed her wand directly onto Crabbe's still bleeding wound. A burst of tiny sparks flew from the tip of the wand, followed by the smell of burning protein filling the room, a smell mixed with the stench of blood that filled the nostrils.

Herman heard a sizzling sound, like the sound of meat being grilled on a hot plate.

Harry released her grip, glanced at the scorch mark she had left behind with satisfaction, and said in a calm tone, "The bleeding has stopped. He won't die for now. We just need to take him to the Hospital Wing."

Herman watched her perform the procedure with such practiced ease, as if she'd done it countless times, and silently thought to himself, "Wow, this is really emergency treatment. What have you been learning from Sirius, Harry?"

Hagrid, however, remained remarkably calm, waving his hand dismissively. "It's alright, no need to take him to the Hospital Wing. I have some Potions here specifically for treating excessive blood loss."

As he spoke, he turned and went into the inner room. There came a sound of rummaging through drawers and cabinets, as if something had been knocked over and then righted. After a while, he came out with a small bottle. The liquid in the bottle was dark red and shiny, and it gleamed with an oily sheen in the firelight.

He crouched down, brought the bottle opening to Crabbe's lips, and poured a little in.

As the liquid flowed in, Crabbe's face visibly regained its color, as if something was being re-infused into his body from within. The edges of the scorch mark on his arm also began to slowly recede, revealing new skin underneath.

He smacked his lips a few times, slowly opened his eyes, and said in a daze, as if he had just woken from a good dream, "I think I had a dream... I drank something delicious, a little sweet..."

Seeing the effect, Herman couldn't help but ask, "What kind of Potions is this? It's so effective!"

Hagrid proudly shook the small bottle. "This was specially prepared by Professor Kettleburn; it's very effective against ordinary injuries."

Herman had a bad feeling when he heard Professor Kettleburn's name, and asked again, "Only good for ordinary injuries?"

Hagrid nodded matter-of-factly. "Yes, wounds without magic, like sword wounds or bites. I'm not very good with magic, so I always keep some on hand to heal those fighting Hippogriff."

Herman paused for a moment, processing the question, "So this is veterinary medicine?"
