Jiang Nan hummed as he walked alongside Luo Hang. They had only just reached the first floor when a mass of zombies rushed down from the second. Without giving them any chance to react, they seized both men's arms and forcibly dragged them upstairs.
Jiang Nan tried to struggle, but he couldn't break free at all. Seven or eight arms were pulling hard on him.
Unable to resist, the youth stared at the cameraman in shock. "Is this how your production team operates? Just taking people by force?"
The cameraman knew how to play along for the show, too. He bobbed the camera up and down in his arms, as though saying: yep.
Jiang Nan: "..."
His bewildered expression was far too funny.
The bullet comments erupted with hahahahas.
Jiang Nan gave up. A mob of zombie NPCs grabbed him and shoved him up to the doorway of a classroom.
Luo Hang was dragged over beside him, too.
A quiet voice asked from inside the classroom, "Who is it?"
Jiang Nan could only raise his voice and shout, "It's me and Luo Hang."
Only after the zombies dispersed did someone inside unlock the door.
Once Jiang Nan and Luo Hang entered, they saw Qiu Wen and Li Xueying sitting on stools. Qiu Wen's ponytail had come undone, and Li Xueying's eyes were red. Meanwhile, Shen Anbai stood at the blackboard with a piece of chalk.
With all five of them reunited, Li Xueying seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. "Help, I've finally found my family!"
Jiang Nan asked, "How come you're all here?"
Li Xueying let out a long, deep sigh. "It's a long story."
Jiang Nan said, "Then make it short."
Li Xueying said, "Oh~"
The three of them had been about to go back and rescue Shen Xingli, only to run straight into the zombies. They had practically acted out a real-life apocalypse escape.
Li Xueying and Qiu Wen's screams had nearly pierced the entire classroom building.
Only after twenty minutes of running did the zombies stop.
The three seized the opportunity to enter a classroom and lock the front and back doors.
Li Xueying concluded, "If I'd had a phone on me, my step count today would've definitely topped the rankings."
"No one could beat me."
The more she spoke, the more worked up she became. By this point, she had one hand on her hip and the thumb of her other hand pointed at the tip of her own nose.
[Aaaaaah, our daughter is so cute!]
[Little sis is seriously so lively.]
[I can't take it. I'm a woman, and even I think she's adorable!!!!]
Jiang Nan applauded supportively. "You're a professional storyteller!"
Li Xueying cleared her throat and obligingly bowed. "Thanks for the compliment."
Once they finished speaking, Luo Hang looked toward Shen Anbai, tipped up his chin, and asked, "What's he doing?"
Li Xueying swayed her head. "Solving a problem."
"Huh?" Jiang Nan didn't quite process that.
Qiu Wen explained, "There's a locked classroom at the far end of the hallway. We found the key here in this classroom, but it's inside a combination case, so the answer to the problem on the blackboard should be the combination."
Jiang Nan glanced at the problem on the blackboard.
It was very difficult, at least at the level of a math competition problem.
Shen Anbai wiped his sweat. He had already worked through it four times, and all four answers had been wrong. This was his last chance.
The combination lock allowed only five attempts. Once they got it wrong, it would lock them out.
He glanced at the camera beside the blackboard and forced himself to calm down.
Once he solved this problem, his manager could buy promotional articles painting him as a top student, and he could gain another wave of fans.
Shen Anbai took a deep breath and checked his work again, finally arriving at an answer of 44102.
Li Xueying's eyes lit up. "You solved it?!"
All she wanted now was to hurry up and finish this recording. She was never coming again.
After running all day, she was practically numb.
"This should be it." Shen Anbai pressed his lips together and put down the chalk.
The lights in this classroom were on, so the guests' expressions were clearly visible.
The audience could see chalk dust covering Shen Anbai's knuckled fingers. He casually dusted off his hands, his school uniform jacket draped over his shoulders with a white T-shirt underneath.
[Help, he's giving handsome young teacher vibes.]
[I love him so much. Handsome and smart.]
[As a middle schooler, I can't even understand the first sentence of this problem, even though I know every single word.]
[Never mind middle schoolers, even college students can't solve it (Ultraman with hands in pockets).]
[Um... as a math competition student, this problem is hard. It once drove me to tears in an exam.]
[Holy shit, a competition problem?! Has the production team lost it? The entertainment industry is full of nine-year compulsory education escapees. Isn't making these people solve it just making a laughingstock of them?]
[What's there to laugh at? Our Baibai solved it. Do you think his top university is a joke?]
[LMAO, he solved it??? Right, right, right, getting it wrong four times counts as solving it. You fans seriously have some thick filters on.]
[As a genuine fan of this show, I'm worrying myself sick. Please, just solve it already.]
Li Xueying immediately ran over and brought out the combination case. "Then I'll enter it. This is our last chance."
Qiu Wen nodded. "Okay."
Just as Li Xueying was about to enter the code, a leisurely voice came from beside her.
"Wait."
She stopped instantly.
Everyone present looked toward the source of the voice.
The youth stood with his arms folded, his gaze fixed on the working on the blackboard. His pink hair was already a mess, looking fluffy and tousled.
A blue-and-white school uniform, pink hair, and a tall, lean figure.
He looked like a school heartthrob straight out of a manga.
"What is it?" Shen Anbai pressed his lips together and asked.
"Your calculation is wrong," Jiang Nan said bluntly.
Everyone else's expressions looked as though they had seen a ghost.
Especially Luo Hang.
He scrutinized Jiang Nan and asked in a strange tone, "Have you been possessed?"
He had previously appeared with Jiang Nan on their boy group's self-produced spin-off show.
Faced with 9999 multiplied by 4888, Jiang Nan had held his pen and worked for almost ten minutes without arriving at an answer.
In the end, he had stopped filming with a dark expression.
Back then, Luo Hang had been utterly awed by that outrageous move.
"You even figured that out?" Jiang Nan said lightly. "Actually, I'm an alien sent here to defeat all the little green teas."
With that, he picked up the chalk and stepped onto the teaching platform.
The control room fell silent.
The assistant director asked, "Can he really solve it?"
The chief director said nothing.
Another assistant director said, "Shen Anbai's answer is wrong anyway. Even if he gets it wrong, it won't make any difference."
The chief director said, "Let's watch first."
While the control room could still keep its composure, the bullet comments had already gone wild.
[I'm fucking dying hahahahaha. Eliminate all the little green teas? Who's he mocking?]
[Our adorable Baibai, of course.]
Shen Anbai counted as a popular young actor in the entertainment industry. He had plenty of devoted fans, but plenty of haters, too.
Many people felt he used the banner of traditional Chinese style to attract fans and was every bit a little green tea.
Jiang Nan's remark earned him plenty of goodwill.
Shen Anbai stood where he was, his expression shifting.
Jiang Nan hadn't named names or deliberately looked at him, after all. It seemed like nothing more than an offhand remark.
Naturally, he couldn't get angry. If he did, he would be taking it personally.
He reined in his anger and smiled. "Then go ahead and give it a try."
He wanted to see just how someone who couldn't even multiply or divide four-digit numbers could solve it.
