Background / History
Childhood and School Years
Luo Hang came from an ordinary family and lost his parents shortly before entering high school. He subsequently lived with his aunt’s family. Withdrawn and poorly dressed, he had few friends and was frequently bullied. His grades were mediocre, and his college entrance examination score qualified him only for a second-tier university 210 213 220.
While attending No. 3 High School under the name Luo Yan, he developed a lasting crush on Jiang Qingye after Jiang intervened when he was being bullied. Luo Hang engineered opportunities to see him, attended his speeches, stole a photograph of him, and asked which university he intended to enter. Unable to attend the same university, he hoped to apply somewhere nearby 213 216 217 220.
Rise to Fame
Luo Hang signed with a modest agency that treated him well but lacked the resources to make him a major star. During a boy-group survival show, the agency secured him a place through the second elimination round. His appearance and performance skills carried him further: even amid manipulated voting, he ranked first by a substantial margin 210.
His on-screen image combined an all-round ace and gentle team leader with an innocent, lively manner. Privately, he disliked the original Jiang Nan’s attempts to attach himself to his popularity, but tolerated them for publicity and to preserve his image. He also lent Jiang Nan money, eventually assuming that he was poor 7 42 86.
After debuting, Luo Hang appeared on variety shows, released music, and performed onstage. Limited opportunities for idols pushed him toward acting, although his acting ability lagged behind his singing and dancing. His fanbase nevertheless brought him invitations for small but significant guest roles 209 210.
Career Setbacks and Endorsements
An idol drama featuring Luo Hang received severe criticism for its production quality and melodramatic plot. His limited screen time and striking appearance largely spared him from the backlash, but the experience left him frustrated 208.
During an out-of-town recording, a veteran performer attacked him after they shared a hotel room because Luo Hang’s air conditioner had broken. Luo Hang kicked the man away, left the room, and returned to the capital with his assistant. He concealed the incident and deleted the performer’s contact information. The veteran subsequently used his connections to take work away from him 210 211.
Jiang Qingye later arranged Luo Hang’s appointment as HOP’s global ambassador. Further major endorsements raised his market value, and big-budget film opportunities followed 211 212 213 215.
Appearance
- Face: Roguishly handsome, with monolids, thin lips, and pronounced brow bones that give him a stubborn, world-weary expression 7 210.
- Build: Tall and lean, with long limbs, straight shoulders, a narrow waist, and slender ankles 86 117 207.
- Skin and eyes: Fair, cool-toned skin and expressive eyes. Jiang Qingye associates his eyes with a blue-gray gemstone 37 207 215.
- Stage styling: Light makeup gives him a softer, devoted-looking appearance; heavy stage makeup emphasizes his sex appeal 37.
- Hair: Previously dyed icy blue, later returned to black after a reconciliation with Jiang Qingye 169 182.
- Tattoo: The letters “JQY” tattooed on his ankle 169.
Personality
Luo Hang is withdrawn, blunt, and sharp-tongued outside his carefully maintained public persona. He dislikes banquets and industry socializing, has few friends, and prefers spending his free time at home gaming with his cat. A director nevertheless describes him as hardworking and willing to cooperate without giving others attitude 207 208.
He rarely discusses painful experiences. After the veteran performer’s attack, he concealed what had happened even from his assistant. He also shows relatively little attachment to celebrity status: having bought a home and accumulated substantial savings, he considers a quiet life financially possible 211.
His pride contrasts sharply with his behavior around Jiang Qingye. Although he initially rejects a transactional relationship, his longstanding affection repeatedly overrides his anger at Jiang Qingye’s treatment. He fears abandonment, doubts that affection toward him is genuine, and assumes that being wanted depends on remaining attractive 210 212 214 218.
Luo Hang is also openly jealous and possessive. He questions Jiang Qingye’s closeness to Pei Jin and resents being compared with Jiang Nan, even after learning that the two are brothers. Jiang Nan eventually revises his opinion of him from arrogant to “stubbornly devoted” 88 182 215.

After the introductory dinner, Luo Hang pressures Jiang Nan into accepting a ride by threatening to post unflattering photographs. Jiang Qingye Relationship Arc
The extras revisit Luo Hang’s relationship with Jiang Qingye, beginning with encounters in which Jiang Qingye fails to remember him. Months later, Luo Hang willingly helps him through a drug-induced rut. Believing the encounter to be a one-night stand, Luo Hang leaves the next morning and later blocks his number 207 208 209.
Luo Hang initially refuses Jiang Qingye’s offer to keep him as a lover in exchange for a HOP endorsement. After Jiang Qingye arranges the endorsement anyway, they begin an arrangement in which Jiang Qingye visits regularly, cooks for him, and supports his career. Luo Hang continues to regard that kindness as temporary rather than proof of love 210 211 212.
Jiang Qingye eventually sends messages ending the arrangement and offers a film opportunity as a parting gift. Luo Hang goes to his office and refuses to accept the separation. Jiang Nan interrupts their reunion, and Luo Hang mistakes him for another lover before learning their family connection 86 213 214.
Their relationship remains unstable through breakups, reconciliations, and jealousy. By Chapter 194, Jiang Qingye has agreed to take Luo Hang home for dinner, prompting Luo Hang to ask Jiang Nan what their parents like 182 189 194.
In the extras, Jiang Qingye discovers Luo Hang’s former name and the history of his schoolboy crush. Luo Hang, frightened by his growing attachment, accepts a distant filming job; Jiang Qingye follows him to the mountain hotel. After their reunion, Luo Hang explicitly tells his manager that they are dating 217 218 219.
Following filming, Luo Hang brings Jiang Qingye home to meet his cat and later invites him to his parents’ graves for Qingming Festival. There, he recounts their first meeting, and Jiang Qingye calls him “Yanyan,” expressing regret that he had not remembered and treasured him properly 220.
