After the Land of Gold surrendered, Uchiha Takashi sent Yukimichi Uchiha to the Uzumaki front instead of granting him the medal he wanted. The Senju Clan’s elders admitted they could not withstand the Uchiha’s encirclement for long, leaving Oto Senju to confront their worsening position.

• The Sarutobi Clan surrendered, and Yukimichi Uchiha accepted its letter as the Land of Gold became part of the Land of Light.
• Uchiha Takashi transferred Yukimichi Uchiha to the southeastern border and reassigned Dai Uchiha to the campaign against the Senju Clan.
• Yukimichi Uchiha searched for his promised medal, read that merits would be assessed after the Senju were dealt with, and angrily cursed Uchiha Takashi.
• Uchiha Takashi considered the limits of the Uchiha’s manpower and the strategic encirclement of the Senju Clan.
• Oto Senju asked how long the Senju Clan could hold out, and the elders said they lacked the strength and knowledge of the Uchiha’s finances to resist.

Uchiha Takashi considered ways to break the stalemate with the Senju but concluded he needed to grow stronger. When he finally began teaching Uchiha Shin Senjutsu, Shin sensed Indra’s chakra awakening inside him, which started nourishing his Mangekyō Sharingan and set it on the path to becoming Eternal.

• Uchiha Takashi weighed plans to defeat Shura Senju but recognized that he was not yet strong enough to carry them out.
• Uchiha Shin reminded Uchiha Takashi of his promise to teach him Senjutsu, and Takashi agreed after realizing Shin had nearly completed his military academy studies.
• Uchiha Takashi told Uchiha Shin to sense natural energy, without mentioning that the Uchiha camp had too little of it for ordinary people to detect.
• Uchiha Shin returned that night claiming he had sensed a powerful force inside his body, and Uchiha Takashi examined him with his Mangekyō Sharingan.
• Uchiha Takashi discovered that Indra’s chakra was awakening in Uchiha Shin and nourishing his Mangekyō Sharingan, bringing him close to attaining the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.
