Didaze and the great villages drove the conflict into a brutal war, where Minato, the Sannin, and the Uchiha faced powerful enemies and Jiraiya died stopping Karura. The fighting continued on both fronts as Nanako neared awakening Wood Release, Fugaku and Sakumo fought Sunagakure, and Konoha launched a surprise attack on Iwagakure.

• Didaze forced Watanabe Kawa, Reigyō, and Nanako Uzumaki through a punishing training session, then ordered them to accompany him to the battlefield as war began.
• Rasa sent Chiyo and Ebizo against Konoha, while Iwagakure declared war and Minato Namikaze, Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru took the field against its forces.
• Uchiha Fugaku fought Chiyo and Ebizo with Susanoo as Didaze and Roshi engaged the Sannin, and Minato clashed with Tōshirō’s group and Nanako Uzumaki.
• Jiraiya entered Sage Mode and fought Didaze and Roshi, but Didaze unleashed C4: Karura, and Jiraiya used Reverse Summoning to save his allies before dying in the blast.
• Minato Namikaze helped Konoha retreat from Roshi, while Didaze discovered Nanako’s regenerating chakra and suspected that she was close to awakening Wood Release.
• Ōnoki and Hiruzen Sarutobi prepared to resume the war as Fugaku fought Rasa, Pakura, Chiyo, and Ebizo, until Hatake Sakumo drove Sunagakure back and agreed to protect the Uchiha Clan.
• Bunpuku freed Shukaku, who fled into the desert without taking over his body, while Sakumo and Fugaku faced Sunagakure again and Hiruzen launched a surprise attack on Iwagakure.
• Minato Namikaze fought Gari as Hiruzen Sarutobi, Tsunade, and Orochimaru battled Ōnoki and Didaze, who injected nanoscale bombs into Katsuyu and took a portion of her body mass.

Didaze helped Iwagakure defeat Konoha, secured a harsh surrender, and returned to the Land of Whirlpools to obtain the Shinigami Mask and investigate the Jashin Statue. As the other nations continued fighting, he trained in Iwagakure, accepted Nanako’s confession on the condition that she wait until adulthood, and left to seek the Dragon Vein, arriving as Naruto Uzumaki fought Mukade at Rōran.

• Minato Namikaze struck Gari with a Rasengan, but Didaze rescued him as Iwagakure’s forces overwhelmed Hiruzen Sarutobi, Tsunade, and Orochimaru.
• Didaze attacked Konoha’s encampment, weakened Nanako’s Wood Release, and led Iwagakure’s decisive assault, capturing Minato Namikaze and Dan Katō while Nanako’s clones helped defeat Konoha’s forces.
• Hiruzen Sarutobi agreed to Didaze’s demands, and after Didaze rejected Konoha’s proposed agreement, Hiruzen signed a surrender and nonaggression treaty before Iwagakure withdrew.
• Didaze traveled to the Land of Whirlpools with Nadeshiko Harukawa, found Uzumaki Hiko, and recovered the Shinigami Mask from the Uzumaki Clan’s ancestral grounds.
• Didaze used the Shinigami Mask and Jashin Statue in a ritual with Yin Six-Tails, learned the statue’s powers, and returned to Iwagakure with Uzumaki Hiko and Nadeshiko Harukawa.
• Uzumaki Hiko helped Nanako understand her feelings for Didaze, and she confessed her love, and Didaze gave her a doll and said he would formally accept her if she still felt the same as an adult.
• Hiruzen Sarutobi sent Shimura Danzō to face Kirigakure and deployed Konoha’s other forces to its remaining fronts, while Iwagakure stayed out of the war and developed.
• After two years of training, Didaze set out for the Dragon Vein, then reached Rōran and knocked Naruto Uzumaki unconscious before sending a Shadow Clone to tell Sara to shut off the Dragon Vein.

Didaze used the Dragon Vein to enter another world, where he disrupted the Akatsuki’s plans, helped Deidara return to Iwagakure, and attended the Five Kage Summit before returning to his own time. He married Nanako and then set out on a bounty hunt, where Koyuki asked him to help restore her kingdom.

• Didaze returned to the future with Sakura, Naruto Uzumaki, and Sai, then traveled to Iwagakure and revealed his origins to Ōnoki.
• Didaze confronted Obito Uchiha and recruited Deidara as a spy, then defeated Kakuzu and intervened when Pain attacked Utakata.
• Didaze helped Saiken absorb the injured Six-Tails, while Deidara returned to Iwagakure and proved himself to Ōnoki.
• Didaze and Deidara attended the Five Kage Summit, where the Kage learned of the Akatsuki’s captures and Obito declared the Fourth Shinobi World War.
• Didaze returned to his original world, reunited with Nanako, and proposed to her after learning of the war’s progress.
• Didaze and Nanako married with Ōnoki and Uzumaki Hiko as their elders, then celebrated with friends and allies.
• Didaze disguised himself as Radiance and hunted missing-nin, then offered to help Koyuki reclaim her kingdom and rescued her and Sandayu.

Didaze seized control of the Third Mizukage, killed Nawaki through Danzō, and trained in Ryūchi Cave before turning Iwagakure against Konoha. The arc ended with Hashirama fighting Didaze as Tsunade led Konoha’s army into battle against Iwagakure.

• Didaze helped Kazahana Koyuki seize the throne, then recruited Shimura Danzō to lure Nawaki to the Kirigakure front and let him take Nawaki’s Wood Release.
• Didaze took control of the Third Mizukage, who drove Konoha’s forces back before Kirigakure withdrew and Orochimaru confirmed Nawaki’s death.
• Tsunade, Dan Katō, and Orochimaru killed Danzō, while Didaze trained in Sage Mode at Ryūchi Cave and signed Tagorihime’s summoning contract.
• Didaze persuaded Iwagakure’s leaders to declare war on Konoha, and Madara Uchiha ordered Black Zetsu to prepare Obito Uchiha to inherit his will.
• Tsunade became Hokage and married Dan Katō as Didaze led Iwagakure’s army toward Konoha, where Hashirama confronted him after the village was evacuated.
• Hashirama and Didaze fought to a stalemate, while Ōnoki sent Iwagakure’s army onward and Tsunade led Konoha’s forty thousand shinobi into battle.
• Ōnoki ordered Iwagakure to attack, Minato engaged him, and Tsunade fought Han and Kōdo as Roshi targeted her with Lava Release.
