Looking at the endless desert before him and the desert-camouflage off-road vehicle beside him,
Su Zhou felt utterly unruffled. In fact, he almost wanted to laugh.
Three whole months had passed since the famous playboy had gone missing in the Middle East,
and Su Zhou had spent those three months in the Middle East as well, working with the other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents on the search and rescue.
On a whim, that playboy Tony had ditched his best buddy Rhodey,
drinking champagne and taking pictures with his fans, riding in a Humvee and singing,
only to suddenly get kidnapped by bandits... terrorists!
By the time Su Zhou arrived at the scene, all that remained were a few Humvees burned down to their frames,
along with a dozen or so large craters left by rockets. Even the blood had been cleaned away completely.
These Ten Rings terrorists were pretty damn professional!
As a Hydra mole inside S.H.I.E.L.D., Su Zhou actually found nothing awkward about his position.
More than half of S.H.I.E.L.D. belonged to Hydra, to put it bluntly. Calling it Serpent S.H.I.E.L.D. would hardly be wrong.
For Su Zhou, this identity was quite useful.
He could get intelligence from Hydra, then wipe out Hydra members to earn Justice Points.
Then he could count it as a combat achievement at S.H.I.E.L.D., while telling Hydra that it had all been a S.H.I.E.L.D. assignment,
all to gain Nick Fury's trust, sacrifices necessary for his undercover mission.
One mission, two rewards. How wonderful was that?
Take the current situation: S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Nick Fury had tasked him with finding and rescuing Tony, and Hydra had given him the same assignment.
Except Nick Fury was doing it because Tony was the son of a S.H.I.E.L.D. founder, making it a political assignment,
while Hydra wanted to abduct Tony and try to obtain Stark Industries' new weapons,
as well as the playboy's enormous fortune!
Su Zhou did the math for himself. Tony the playboy had to become Iron Man sooner or later.
After all, without superheroes, there would be no supervillains to oppose them.
If Tony never became Iron Man, his dear uncle Obadiah would never become the supervillain Iron Monger either.
Killing an ordinary murderer earned him 1 Justice Point.
Surely killing a supervillain wouldn't earn him just 1 Justice Point too?
For the sake of his Justice Points, Tony would just have to suffer a little longer. He could worry about the rest once Tony became Iron Man!
Besides, he was already in S.H.I.E.L.D., so he would have opportunities to meet all the superheroes who appeared later!
Right now, they were in the plot of Iron Man. After that, it should be the plot of The Incredible Hulk.
Thinking of that bulletproof green giant, Su Zhou felt his skill was way too trash.
There was no way he could shoot the supervillain Abomination to death. He needed to draw a stronger ability as soon as possible!
As for Tony's current location, S.H.I.E.L.D. couldn't find it, but that didn't mean Hydra couldn't.
Hydra had located Tony a week ago.
Through careful observation, Su Zhou had thoroughly investigated the Ten Rings base where Tony was being held.
There were around a hundred combatants, fully equipped with light and heavy weaponry.
They had everything from heavy machine guns to antitank rocket launchers. If the fighters were a little better trained,
this force of just a hundred men could easily overthrow the government of a small African nation.
But this was the Marvel world. Tony could cobble together a suit of armor by hand and escape alive.
For Su Zhou, though, aside from the skill [Deadshot],
he had nothing else. Facing an armed group of a hundred men would still require some preparation!
After all, it was almost time. Tony's homemade Iron Man Armor was nearly finished.
If his rescue came too late, every Ten Rings member Tony killed would be a huge loss to him!
Two M9 pistols, an M24 sniper rifle, an M4A1 automatic rifle,
plus four magazines, three grenades, and three smoke grenades,
state-of-the-art body armor and a ballistic helmet, plus a tactical mask and goggles.
Armed to the teeth, Su Zhou looked at the base two hundred meters away and moved into the sniping position he had picked out earlier.
There was no helping it. If he couldn't take bullets with his bare body, he had to play to his strengths!
Just as Su Zhou was observing the enemy through his scope, he noticed the terrorists in the base growing restless.
They rushed toward a cave as though something had happened!
Su Zhou: "(°o°:)
What a coincidence!
Only one thing could get these people worked up like this: they had discovered that Tony was building armor!
Bang-!
He pulled the trigger, and the M24 sniper rifle let out a crisp crack.
The terrorist closest to the cave dropped at the sound, a hole blown through his head!
[Ten Rings member killed. Justice Points +1]
Seeing his Justice Points increase for the first time in ages, Su Zhou couldn't help curling his lips into a smile!
Three months!
Forget criminals. Even finding a person in this desert was hard!
I've finally made it through!
Bang, bang, bang-!
[Ten Rings member killed. Justice Points +1] [Ten Rings squad leader killed. Justice Points +2]
With every crack of the sniper rifle, a Ten Rings member fell.
Notifications appeared in Su Zhou's mind at the same time, stopping only when he emptied the magazine.
While Su Zhou changed magazines, the remaining Ten Rings members hurried into cover,
suddenly making his sniping much harder!
What pleased Su Zhou, though, was that a squad leader was worth more than an ordinary member.
His theory was right: the higher a villain's position and the stronger they were, the more Justice Points he would earn for killing them!
With that last round of sniping, Su Zhou had already locked down the entrance to the cave where Tony might be.
He had also focused on the firing positions and the leaders giving orders. Now, at that cave entrance,
four bodies lay with their heads blown open, like a warning that anyone who dared approach the cave would meet the same end!
Su Zhou finished changing magazines and continued firing into the base.
These people were still lacking in tactical skill. They hadn't even mastered finding cover.
After killing a few more unlucky bastards whose skills weren't up to scratch, Su Zhou switched targets,
firing straight at the fuel tanks of the vehicles in the base!
Bang-bang-bang!
The fuel tanks of several modified pickups mounted with heavy machine guns were punctured, and flames instantly engulfed the trucks.
With several violent explosions, the trucks turned into huge fireballs!
Thanks to Su Zhou's unrestrained shooting, the Ten Rings members finally located him.
At the order of a leader hiding behind cover, several members unafraid of death drove straight toward his position.
One even crazier man thrust his upper body out from the passenger seat,
raised an antitank rocket launcher, and aimed at Su Zhou's position, ready to fire!
Bang!
Another sniper shot rang out, killing the Ten Rings member at the wheel.
The truck rolled onto its side in the sand, and the rocket about to be fired from the passenger seat went off target too,
trailing smoke as it struck another charging truck!
[Four Ten Rings members killed. Justice Points +4]
With [Deadshot], even targets moving in vehicles were easy to hit!
As for taking out two trucks with one shot, that was all luck and no skill!
Su Zhou dropped the sniper rifle in his hands and snatched up his M4A1 assault rifle.
Using the smoke from the exploding trucks, Su Zhou rapidly closed in on the Ten Rings base like a ghost!
Firearms could actually be very useful too!
"My adorable Justice Points! I'm coming to take you home!!!"
