Background / History

Creation and the Playing Card Organization

Xing Yao created Clone No. 1 before the opening chapter. His resemblance to the original caused trouble when researchers searched for Xing Yao, leaving the clone afraid they would return. He initially questioned why Xing Yao would conceal his cloning ability behind a supposed “omnipotent talent,” but became involved in gathering the Resentment Points needed to support that cover story 1.

When Xing Yao founded the Playing Card Organization, Clone No. 1 immediately claimed the Big Joker identity. Concerned about surveillance and his future reputation, he proposed wearing a lower-ranking mask for embarrassing errands rather than exposing the organization’s Big Joker 2 3.

First Resentment-Gathering Operation

Clone No. 1 helped devise public nuisances, including changing square-dance music and removing toilet paper from crowded public facilities. During the first operation, he lowered bicycle seats and went to loosen park exercise equipment while Xing Yao handled other targets 2 3.

He later mopped a nearby shopping mall’s floor as part of Xing Yao’s pigeon-and-laxative scheme. Visitors fleeing the birds slipped inside the mall, generating a large harvest of resentment. The pair withdrew together, and the proceeds funded his spatial awakening and the creation of three more clones 4 5.

Card Production and the Resurrection Discovery

Clone No. 1 joined the group’s experiments with resentment-based ability cards. He helped Clone No. 2 design an invisibility card’s humiliating aftereffect, then developed his own teleportation cards. His first reported batch contained eighty-three cards 8 9.

Xing Yao assigned him to sell openly in the market during holidays using the original’s face. Shortly afterward, his Tier One breakthrough revealed that upgraded clones could bind themselves to the mental world and resurrect there. He also identified the law-comprehension barrier preventing advancement beyond peak Tier One 14 15.

Monster Invasion

Wearing the Great King mask, Clone No. 1 arrived when Xing Yao was in immediate danger during the monster attack. His spatial combat power left a strong impression on Xing Yao. Qin Lie later confirmed that the unidentified rescuer was a Tier Two awakener capable of slaying the Red Lotus Demon General with ease; Xing Yao kept the rescuer’s identity secret 30 33 35.

Afterward, Clone No. 1 stood guard in the mental world’s core area. When the badly injured Clones No. 5 and No. 6 returned, he joined the discussion and listened closely to their account of defending civilians from the monster tide 36.

Law Fusion and the Computer Campaign

After advancing, Clone No. 1 explained that he had become one with the mental world’s Law of Space. Xing Yao successfully copied this complete ability, but exhausted his accumulated Resentment Points doing so 40 41 42.

Bored with the mental world’s lack of entertainment, Clone No. 1 pushed for computers and persuaded the other clones to join the demand. Xing Yao eventually agreed, then admitted that buying a villa had left them without money. The group consequently turned to card production to fund the purchase, with Clone No. 1 helping pressure Clone No. 3 into manufacturing earth-element cards 45 46 47 48.

Appearance

  • Resembles Xing Yao: Their similarity is sufficient to complicate dealings with researchers and allows him to sell cards using Xing Yao’s face 1 14.
  • Masked combat appearance: During the rescue, he wears white clothes and the Great King mask, standing tall and straight with a cold, piercing gaze 30.
  • Expressive mannerisms: Away from combat, he frequently rolls his eyes, grins, bounces with excitement, and makes exaggerated gestures 1 2 5.

Personality

Clone No. 1 is mischievous, outspoken, and quick to ridicule Xing Yao. He eagerly anticipates resentment-gathering schemes and takes visible delight in their results. His enthusiasm extends to his fellow clones’ talents: he celebrates their awakenings and immediately imagines how their abilities could complement one another 1 2 4 5.

He is protective of his image without being careless about security. His decision to disguise himself as the Three of Hearts serves both purposes: it conceals his identity and prevents petty mischief from diminishing the prestige of the Big Joker. He also explains the practical value of spare masks for escape and ordinary work 3 7.

His imposing battlefield demeanor contrasts sharply with his private interests. After reaching Tier Two, he becomes absorbed in making figures from mental mud and grows intensely embarrassed when Xing Yao catches him. He argues that games and other diversions are necessary to balance cultivation with rest rather than signs of a lack of ambition 30 40 45.

Abilities & Skills

Spatial Talent

His original talent awakens through Xing Yao’s expenditure of Resentment Points 5.

  • Teleportation: One of his two initial spatial skills 5.
  • Space Slash: His initial spatial attack skill 5.
  • Combat effectiveness: At Tier Two, he demonstrates enough spatial combat power to rescue Xing Yao and slay the Red Lotus Demon General 30 33 35.

Law of Space

At Tier Two, his spatial origin completely merges with the mental world’s Law of Space, making his connection to it far closer than his initial Tier One bond 40.

  • Available skills: Freely uses Teleportation, Spatial Blade, and Spatial Wormhole 41.
  • Comprehension-based growth: Both his strength and available abilities increase as his understanding of spatial law deepens 41.
  • Removed skill restriction: No longer limited to awakening two abilities per tier 41.
  • Advancement limit: Xing Yao can no longer raise his level with Resentment Points 41.
  • Unlearned techniques: Spatial Distortion, Spatial Displacement, and Spatial Traversal remain beyond his current comprehension 41.
  • Copyable power: Xing Yao can still copy his complete Law of Space ability, although doing so consumes his entire accumulated stockpile of Resentment Points 42.

Mental-World Bond and Resurrection

His Tier One advancement creates a profound connection between his ability and Xing Yao’s mental world 14.

  • World reinforcement: His integration strengthens and stabilizes the mental world’s spatial laws 14.
  • Resurrection: Can return in the mental world after death, subject to a twenty-four-hour cooldown 14.
  • Physical entry: Can enter the mental world bodily, unlike Xing Yao’s initial consciousness-only entry 5.

Ability-Card Crafting

Clone No. 1 condenses ability-powered cards and helps design the side effects used to generate further resentment 8 9.

Card / Contribution Effect Side Effect / Production Notes
Teleportation card Tearing it grants three teleports to locations within a hundred-meter radius of the user 9. After the third teleport, three large holes appear at random in the user’s clothing. His first batch contains eighty-three cards 9.
Invisibility-card modification Helps Clone No. 2 modify a card that grants one hour of invisibility 8. When the user becomes visible again, their shoes, equipment, backpack, and hair remain invisible 8.
Other combat cards Produces extreme-speed-boost, short-range-assault, and spatial-evasion cards 47. These high-value combat cards are profitable to duplicate with Resentment Points rather than manufacture individually 47.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Levy-exemption effect — Receives the effect of Xing Yao’s handgun-shaped reward item, exempting him from Rune Secret Realm levies 10.

Relationships

  • Xing Yao — Creator and original. They plan operations together and constantly trade insults. Clone No. 1 supplies powers Xing Yao can copy and later saves his life during the monster invasion 1 3 5 30 42.
  • Clone No. 2 — Fellow clone and card-development partner. They jointly devise the invisibility card’s lingering aftereffect 8.
  • Clone No. 3 — Fellow clone and ally in requesting computers. Clone No. 1 later joins the others in flattering him into accepting labor-intensive earth-card production 45 47 48.
  • Clone No. 4 — Fellow clone whose firepower he enthusiastically praises as part of their ideal team composition. They later cooperate in pressuring Clone No. 3 to make cards 5 47.
  • Clones No. 5 and No. 6 — Younger fellow clones. He listens to their account of the city’s disaster and later recognizes the extraordinary potential of their corresponding physical-body and strength laws 36 41.
