The first time? Lou Yun remembered when she had first discovered that Pei Qing was beyond her control. Her first thought seemed to have been-

"No, I'm afraid I'll frighten you."

Those few words struck him like a deafening peal. How could the person he loved be so cautious?

"I'm not afraid," Pei Qing countered.

Lou Yun tilted her face slightly. Right, this man probably would not be afraid.

"Back then, I thought you were an uncontrollable factor. I wanted to kill you."

Pei Qing was speechless, clearly not expecting that answer. He asked woodenly, "Then why didn't you do it?"

"Your cat blocked my way. I saw how happy it was and gave up."

That answer clearly surprised Pei Qing too. Quietly passing over the subject, he asked, "What about afterward? What were you thinking the last time you had your hand around my throat?"

"I just thought you didn't know what was good for you. I'd kindly spared your life, yet you came chasing after me, courting death."

Uh... could he say he had not thought that much about it? The Imperial Preceptor quietly defended himself inwardly.

Seeing that Lou Yun showed no emotional fluctuations whatsoever, he thought, No, this won't draw out all her desires.

Pei Qing helplessly cast his gaze around the room, his eyes suddenly settling on the incense burner.

Why did he seem to smell □□ substances? Inspiration flashed. Right, lust was a desire too.

But no! Pei Qing suddenly slapped himself. Even to help Lou Yun, he could not do something so vile. It would be far too damaging to her reputation.

Already struggling to suppress herself, Lou Yun suddenly heard a crisp smack beside her. She looked up blankly, caught off guard by the red mark on the young man's face.

"Pei Qing! Have you gone mad?" Her fury was uncontrollable. Why would he hit himself for no reason? He was not the one going berserk.

The young man was tongue-tied, not daring to tell Lou Yun what he had just been thinking.

Lou Yun was like a firecracker now, easily ignited and enraged. She broke free of the chains, hauled him up, and pinned him to the bed, demanding, "Why did you hit yourself?"

Weren't these chains supposed to work?

Pei Qing felt the world spin before Lou Yun pinned him to the bed with strength he could not escape.

"Liar."

Chapter 47

Lou Yun sneered inwardly. These iron chains had only ever been there to reassure him. If they worked, they would not need replacing after every episode.

"Why would you hit yourself for no reason?" Lou Yun demanded, gripping his chin.

Pei Qing's gaze darted away. He stammered, unable to speak, while Lou Yun stared unblinkingly at him.

He quietly reached up around her shoulders and whispered a few words in her ear. Once he finished, he was terribly embarrassed, but afraid Lou Yun would misunderstand, he watched her fearfully.

"Will you think I'm very... out of line? But I already..."

"So you hit yourself?" Lou Yun stroked the redness and swelling on his face.

"Yes," he answered cautiously.

Lou Yun suddenly remembered that she had never told Pei Qing how she differed from the people of this world in that particular matter.

"Pei Qing, come here," Lou Yun coaxed softly.

"Hmm?" The Imperial Preceptor leaned closer, dazed and foolish, utterly unaware that he had already fallen into a beast's trap.

This time, Lou Yun whispered in his ear. Pei Qing first widened his eyes in disbelief, then looked at her again.

"Even so, are you willing?"

Lou Yun abruptly leaned closer until their noses touched. The confined space left Pei Qing with nowhere to look but her eyes. Her scent filled his nose, and it was as though he was... no, he really was surrounded by Lou Yun.

Pei Qing felt that he was a cat now, and Lou Yun was covered from head to toe in catnip. Otherwise, why would his head feel so dizzy that he could do nothing but agree to whatever the person before him said?

"I am," he murmured.

Lou Yun chuckled and chided him, "Agreeing when you don't know anything. Fool."

Hearing her speak in that coaxing tone made Pei Qing somewhat agitated. It was not as though he knew nothing. He was a physician-what had he not seen? It only meant he would be the one beneath her. The preparations should be little different from those for men who cut their sleeves!

He simply had not known before, so he could not satisfy Lou Yun right away. If he were given half an hour, or an hour, there was no reason he could not agree now.

He pulled the woman atop him down. Although he was so nervous that his hands shook, he still wanted to tell the person he loved how he felt.

"I understand. Wait here a moment. I'll come back once I've prepared!"

The Imperial Preceptor anxiously expressed his feelings. Watching him softened Lou Yun's heart, yet the emotions surging within her carried an inexplicable urge to possess and plunder.

She bit down hard on his exposed collarbone. Watching his brows draw together in pain, she felt a secret pleasure rise within her.

"Wait, Lou Yun..." Pei Qing felt as though a ferocious beast had set its sights on him. With the panic of prey marked by a hunter, he helplessly pushed at the woman atop him. He had only tried knowing it would be useless, never expecting her to actually stop.

"Lou Yun?" Although he had been the one to refuse, when she really stopped moving, hesitation arose in his heart.

"Sorry."

She kept panting heavily, a thin sheen of sweat coating her forehead from holding herself back. Releasing the bite she had refused to let go, she struggled to get off him.

But Pei Qing pulled her off balance, and she fell onto him again.

"Didn't we agree you wouldn't suppress yourself anymore?"

Lou Yun did not answer. She felt she was dangerous now and should not remain beside Pei Qing.

I'll hurt him.

With that thought, Lou Yun braced her hands beside him and raised her scarlet eyes to meet his, filled with an indescribable ferocity. Then, as though realizing what a sorry state she was in, she rose, wanting to flee from this person who made her lose control.

"Lou Yun!"

Caught off guard, she was hugged from behind. His voice thick with tears, the young man said in her ear, "You promised to let me lead you out."

Lou Yun sighed. She had said that, but she had never expected him to use this method to bring her out.

"It's too soon," Lou Yun explained helplessly, loosening the hands clinging to her waist.

"Liar," he accused for the second time.

When he pulled her down again, he used a little deft force. Lou Yun resisted, and the two began exchanging moves beside the bed.

Hearing the commotion outside the door, Ying Yi and the others thought, Master's first time is this intense? As expected of Master! So powerful!!!

Who knew that exchanging blows with Pei Qing had left Lou Yun seething, her anger growing all the fiercer?

She put more strength into her hands and picked up the iron chains, intending to chain him to the bed so he would behave.

The instant Pei Qing saw the chains, his eyes reddened with anger. She's breaking her word! We clearly agreed to work on this together, yet now she's using these things to tie me up!

Hardening his heart, he struggled recklessly as Lou Yun bound him tightly, until his wrists bled. He still held his face up, staring stubbornly at her.

Lou Yun choked with anger. He insists on provoking me, doesn't he? She undid the chains and flung them beneath the bed, pinning him down viciously as she threatened, "So you insist on misbehaving?"

Pei Qing stiffened his neck, refusing to yield an inch. "So what if I do? Do you dare punish me, Your Highness?"

"Heh." An airy sound escaped Lou Yun's throat. Without any restraint, she plundered those outrageously bold lips before her. Her forceful, merciless plundering left Pei Qing breathless, yet he kept responding as though provoking her.

Even when Lou Yun intended to let him go and pull back, he recklessly leaned up to meet her.

Lou Yun pressed her hand against the back of Pei Qing's head and said, her tone neither clearly praise nor reproach, "You really have no idea what death is."

His eyes were watery from her kisses. Hearing those words, he shot her a reproachful glare. Who was I doing all this for?

The more he thought about it, the angrier he grew. At last, he used his teeth, biting the tip of her tongue resentfully. Lou Yun frowned in pain, yet her face held no displeasure at the offense. Instead, there was a trace of satisfaction.

She deliberately provoked him. "If this is all you have, Imperial Preceptor, it isn't enough to stir my desire."

Pei Qing looked at her blankly. If this was not enough, what else could he do? He licked his already numb, swollen red lips, his wandering gaze revealing the truth: he had run out of ideas.

Watching him like this, Lou Yun buried her face against his neck and shoulder and laughed softly. He was simply too adorable.

Pinned to the bed, the Imperial Preceptor stared at the canopy for a long while without figuring out how he had made her laugh.

But the laughter beside his ear was truly too irritating. For the first time, he spoke to Lou Yun in an annoyed tone. "Have you had your fill of laughing, Your Highness?"

"Annoyed?" Lou Yun raised an eyebrow. "If you're annoyed, I'll have someone take you back. As for the curse..."

Pei Qing did not even let her finish. He angrily reversed their positions, tugging at her clothes to strip them off as he complained, "All you can do is win with your tongue, Your Highness. If you really have the ability, make me unable to speak right now!"

She held her arms open. Hearing his words, her eyes darkened, and she suddenly arched up, capturing the lips before her that kept chattering complaints.

Fine. Since he doesn't care anyway, why should I keep considering his sake?

Perhaps because she was so angry, there was not a trace of gentleness in Lou Yun's next movements.

It was Pei Qing's first time doing this too, and he was already utterly flustered, yet he still fanned the flames in Lou Yun's ear. "Your Highness, plunder me."

At that moment, Pei Qing seemed to have become a spirit that could seize a person's soul, possessing a charm that stole hearts and souls. Like rosemary in bloom, he gave off a fragrance that scrambled the mind.

Lou Yun was like a pitiful mortal bewitched, woodenly doing only as Pei Qing instructed.

Yet the culprit behind all this bit his lower lip in restraint as he was plundered, not daring to make a sound. He gazed at Lou Yun with unfocused eyes, terrified that even a single sound escaping him would make the woman atop him stop.

But he did not know that when those eyes of his, like an offering of sacrifice, met Lou Yun's, they made her heart tremble beyond measure.
