Origins and Evolution
- Chaotic evolution: Exotic beasts becoming demigods can evolve toward chaos and disorder, becoming Evil Gods, or toward order and restraint, becoming divine beasts, spirit beasts, or ancestral sources of Wisdom races 178.
- Risk of failure: Evolution unleashes a frenzy that must be restrained by a powerful will. Most evolving exotic beasts self-destruct; stronger bloodlines improve their chances of success 178.
- Surviving failures: Some failed evolutions produce unintelligent mutated beasts with Evil God-level power. Jiang Ziliu encounters a winged serpent that retains formidable instincts and distorted Water-Element Rule abilities despite losing its intelligence 199.
- Unstable growth: Later breakthroughs can also bring destruction or further mutation rather than successful advancement 198.
- Beast-taming correction: A beast-taming contract transforms exotic beasts bearing Evil God traces into genuine tamed beasts belonging to the Positive Universe. Contracted beasts can evolve only toward order 178 251.
Appearance
- Evil Gods have no uniform appearance. Documented forms include malformed animals, humanoids, plants, isolated heads, and a black hole 168 196 199 251.
- Their visible form may conceal another identity: the thousand-meter rag doll in the Blood Soul Land transforms into a female humanoid succubus after Jiang Ziliu leaves 168.
- Origin-Rank Evil Gods manifest secondary bodies rather than exposing their cores 251.
Documented Examples
| Evil God | Distinguishing Features | Encounter |
|---|---|---|
| Scallion Ridge Evil God | A sealed head whose released power drives back the Dwarf King and devastates a nearby human base | 67 94 |
| Blood Soul Land succubus | Appears as a thousand-meter rag doll, half submerged and pinned by blood-colored rocky tentacles; sings a mysterious song | 168 |
| Chaos-wielding Evil God | A special Evil God wielding Chaos Authority, responsible for the Ancient Tree of Wisdom’s fall | 172 |
| Rat-like Evil Gods | Hundred-meter bodies, an off-center single eye, fur ending in one-eyed rat heads, bone-bladed tails, and tattered wings formed from black demigod power | 196 |
| Illusory-flower Evil God | Takes the form of a sea of illusory flowers in the ancient battlefield | 199 |
| Monkey-shaped Evil God | Red-furred, with abnormal eyes, blue-green claws, and seals embedded in its body, pupils, and brow | 204 |
| Akeyi | A Stellar Rank Evil God secretly controlled to retrieve the Forging Throne’s golden eye fragment | 231 232 |
| Three Origin-Rank Evil Gods | A mouthless head with six pairs of eyes; enormous wings with a central flesh ball and eye-tipped tentacles; and a black hole | 251 |
Behavior and Culture
Evil Gods retain intelligence despite their chaotic evolution. They assess opponents, exploit weaknesses, and use deception to obtain flesh, blood, and souls. Their appetites do not prevent calculated retreats or long-term schemes 196 203.
- Preferred prey: Demigod- and God-Rank beings of the Positive Universe are prized meals. Stronger lifeforms are especially appetizing 181 196 231.
- “Flesh worms”: Evil Gods use this term for Negative Universe exotic beasts below Demigod Rank, treating them as unintelligent food and cannon fodder—even when they are their own descendants 231.
- “Lesser fare”: Positive Universe lifeforms below Demigod Rank are considered inferior delicacies 231.
- Cannibalism and rivalry: Mutual suspicion is normal. Evil Gods may fight and devour one another rather than cooperate 196.
- Conditional cooperation: The seven rat-like Evil Gods cooperate because their combined technique lets them hunt stronger prey and obtain greater benefits 196.
- Reproduction: More powerful Evil Gods can produce more offspring, which they raise as food. Their distorted rules make descendants prone to mutation 231.
- Stable descendants outside their universe: Exotic beasts entering the Positive Universe become far less likely to mutate and develop stable hereditary traits 231.
Akeyi’s household illustrates their treatment of offspring: his seven demigod wives and concubines produce 3,500 descendants in three years, expanding the family’s emergency food reserves 231.
Abilities & Skills
Distorted Rule Manipulation
Evil Gods pursue the distortion and chaotic transformation of rules rather than the Positive Universe’s stable order 196 251.
- The rat-like group combines a rule-level evolution of Rat-Eye Inch Light into a death-rule ring that blocks attacks and weakens Jiang Ziliu’s connection to the surrounding world 196.
- Evil Gods in the academy’s trial use rule-level dust mist to expose and block concealed intruders 215.
- The sealed monkey Evil God’s lingering domain assimilates intruders into new Evil Gods, though the clash of residual powers then destroys those transformed beings 203.
Soul Devouring and Corruption
Consuming souls strengthens Evil Gods’ divine souls beyond those of ordinary demigods at the same rank. Their soul power inherently contaminates minds and souls 196.
- The fleeing rat-like Evil Gods induce uncontrollable greed and twist their opponents’ wills, forcing Jiang Ziliu’s beasts to retreat 197.
- A dead Evil God’s severed eye can still cause madness, bodily disorder, and deviations in rule comprehension through visual contact 193.
- An Origin-Rank Evil God’s secondary body contaminates ordinary gods merely through its presence 251.
Regeneration and Survival
Evil Gods possess extraordinary regenerative abilities, though equal or greater power can suppress recovery 231.
- Akeyi regenerates a missing arm instantly once the hostile divine power obstructing it has been removed 231.
- The Negative Universe’s natural forces help wear away the Positive Universe divine power left in his wound 231.
- Powerful Evil Gods are exceptionally difficult for opponents of the same rank to kill, making sealing the usual solution 203.
- Apparent destruction is not always final: the monkey-shaped Evil God hides a surviving thread inside its seven-colored Soul Crystal 205.
Origin-Rank Cores and Secondary Bodies
Origin-Rank Evil Gods possess super cores lodged within the origin of the Negative Universe. Their visible bodies are projections connected to those cores 251.
- Sealing the connection between a secondary body and its core prevents the Evil God from projecting power through that body 251.
- Replacing a lost secondary body takes as long as a completely fallen Positive Universe Origin-Rank being of the same level needs to revive 251.
- Secondary bodies have formidable regeneration and are themselves sources of distorted-rule contamination 251.
Environmental Advantages
- Ancient Battlefield Sha Qi does not frighten Evil Gods; they may even absorb and use it, while Positive Universe demigods must expend divine power resisting its corrosion 198.
- Battlefield conditions allow Evil Gods to conceal themselves and launch elusive attacks. Jiang Ziliu relies on his unusually strong soul to detect them 228.
- Ancient Battlefields suppress the perception of both Gods and Evil Gods, limiting their ability to monitor and control territory 228.
Weaknesses and Countermeasures
- Complete destruction at Demigod Rank: Jiang Ziliu kills rat-like Evil Gods by wearing away their divine bodies, souls, and divine power together 197.
- Soul-targeting lightning: Demigod souls have limited resistance to lightning. Jiang Ziliu uses it to numb an Evil God’s soul and prevent the release of its corrupting power 197.
- Higher-rank suppression: The Ancient Tortoise of Time’s power destroys the severely weakened King-Rank monkey Evil God, then eliminates its hidden survival thread 203 205.
- Soul protection: The Ancient Tree of Wisdom dispels contamination from the Evil God True Eye; the Forging Throne protects Jiang Ziliu from the evil power within his black Soul Crystal 94 193.
- Covert control: A modified Hollowification Jellyfish attached to an Evil God’s Divine Spark enables soul control. Jiang Ziliu and the Ancient Tree of Wisdom refine the technique so the victim interprets imposed decisions as its own thoughts 230.
History and Major Conflicts
First War Against the Negative Universe
The Kings of Origin entered the first war because of their close connection to the universe’s rules. Though relatively few, the Evil Gods possessed exceptional combat strength and skill in schemes, causing many Kings of Origin to fall and even provoking infighting among them. The Kings eventually repelled the assault at enormous cost 171.
Evil Gods later cooperated with Galaxy Ninth Realm powerhouses to trap and dismember the Ancient Tree of Wisdom. The plundering of Origin essence and the resulting rise of increasingly frenzied Origin-Rank beings contributed to further chaos and defeats against Evil God invasions 242.
Ancient Battlefield Resource Wars
The rare resources created where positive and negative energies combine are the principal stakes of the conflict. Invading the Positive Universe yields less than capturing a valuable Ancient Battlefield resource ground; invasions therefore serve to divert defenders from those battlefields 226.
Many invading exotic beasts are also fleeing the Evil Gods’ hunting grounds. Even capture as a tamed beast offers them a better existence than remaining food in the Negative Universe 231.
Jiang Ziliu’s Encounters
| Chapters | Event |
|---|---|
| 65 67 | A dwarf elder’s notes alert Jiang Ziliu to Evil Gods. He leaves Greater Verdant Ridge before the Dwarf King’s clash with the sealed Scallion Ridge Evil God. |
| 94 | Ailande identifies Jiang Ziliu’s mysterious black crystal as an Evil God Soul Crystal and explains their evolutionary origin. |
| 193 | The Ancient Tree of Wisdom protects him from a dead, Jupiter-sized Evil God eye. The wind-rule wound that destroyed it provides an opportunity for comprehension. |
| 196 197 | Seven rat-like Evil Gods encircle him. He breaks their joint attack, kills two, and forces five to flee. |
| 202 203 204 205 | The Suo Weilan Ya Lineage sacrifices captive Evil Gods, unknowingly weakening a seal. Jiang Ziliu uses the Ancient Tortoise of Time’s power to destroy the released monkey Evil God. |
| 230 231 232 | Jiang Ziliu acquires and improves an Evil God control technique, then uses Akeyi to recover the Forging Throne’s golden eye fragment. |
| 251 | Assigned to block three Origin-Rank Evil Gods, Jiang Ziliu enters a peaceful standoff. Both sides choose rule comprehension over combat. |
Soul Crystals and Karmic Luck
- Evil God Soul Crystals contain residual soul power and can retain dangerous evil influence. Jiang Ziliu’s black crystal causes him to see terrifying blood-red eyes when touched 94.
- Soul Dew can accelerate a Supreme Rank beast’s soul transformation. It requires a Demigod Rank Evil God’s soul; the crystals Jiang Ziliu obtains from the rat-like Evil Gods can be purified into it 182 197.
- Residual survival remains a danger: the monkey Evil God’s seven-colored crystal conceals a surviving thread until the Ancient Tortoise of Time destroys it 205.
- Karmic Luck rewards are bestowed by the Positive Universe for destroying, sealing, or weakening Evil Gods. Evil Gods themselves are unaffected by karmic luck 181.
- Reward distribution depends on participation: the Ancient Tortoise of Time receives most of the reward for destroying the monkey Evil God, while Jiang Ziliu receives one ten-thousandth 205.
