Yang Jian kicked the door open and walked into the room with no number on it.
It was a suite, spacious, and quite a few people were hiding inside. With a quick glance, he spotted three people standing in different places, watching him warily and with hostility. Their clothing was peculiar, each bearing the characteristics of a different era.
The middle-aged man who had opened the door looked old, like a farmer. He wore cloth shoes, his trouser legs rolled up, with dark skin and a rather thin build.
The one opposite him was a young man in a suit, though the style was old-fashioned, like something from the eighties or nineties.
The last was a woman. She wore a dress, a headband, and had short hair combed meticulously in place. She did not look like someone from the present day either.
"Don't be nervous. His name is Yang Jian, and the other two are his teammates. They came in here from outside. For now, they aren't our enemies."
A Nan hurried in at that moment and quickly explained, lest the two sides suddenly start fighting.
Hearing that, the expressions on the three faces relaxed slightly, though they still studied Yang Jian suspiciously.
"Are you sure he broke in from outside and isn't a vicious ghost? He kicked that door open just now. A living person couldn't do that." The young man in the suit spoke, his face still full of vigilance and distrust toward Yang Jian.
Living here, they could not even trust themselves, let alone others.
The reason they had banded together was because it improved their chances of survival and allowed them to keep passing along information about this place.
It was a new way of surviving.
Far better than dying here over and over, then reviving
