Key Locations
| Location | Description |

History
Starvation Ghost Incident
Dachang City was struck by the Starvation Ghost Incident, beginning with an unnatural darkness that covered the city even during daytime. Yang Jian recognized that the event had escalated beyond an ordinary supernatural case and could trap the entire population in the gloom 224.
The haze isolated Dachang City from the outside world for nearly a month. With the urban survivors nearing collapse, Headquarters prepared to declare the city a forbidden zone and evacuate it if the situation could not be reversed 246 264 275.
Yang Jian ultimately contained the source ghost. The haze began to recede, allowing Zhao Jianguo, Li Jun, ghost wielders, rescue personnel, supplies, and repair teams to enter the city 275.
Recovery and Depopulation
The incident left the city severely damaged. Important personnel departed after the crisis, the streets had only begun to regain activity, and a complete recovery appeared unlikely 292.
Many survivors moved away after witnessing the disaster, causing population loss, reduced business activity, and a depressed property market. Despite this, Dachang City became an unusually safe location because its major supernatural threat had been contained 279 296 387.
Yang Jian and Zhang Xiangui strengthened Guangjiang Residential Area with guards, safe-house preparations, supplies, and organized community security 385. Shangtong Building subsequently became the center of Yang Jian's company and a broader sphere of influence intended to stabilize the city through the worsening supernatural era 762 1013.
Later Crises
The city was invaded by ghost wielders during the conflict with the King Organization. Yang Jian defeated or sealed the invaders, while Li Yang and Huang Ziya survived the attack and helped manage the aftermath 875.
After Yang Jian's disappearance, Li Yang, Tong Qian, and Huang Ziya continued protecting Dachang City. Their efforts kept the city comparatively safe and attracted new residents, though prolonged high-intensity work forced them to reduce their response frequency as supernatural incidents increased in surrounding areas 1555 1562.
Yang Jian's Return
After six months away, Yang Jian returned and found Yu Chengzhi struggling to manage several sealed-off zones. Yang Jian resolved multiple supernatural events himself, then gave Yu medicine intended to delay ghost resurgence and encouraged him to continue safeguarding the city 1570 1571.
A later outbreak filled Dachang City with white mist and vengeful ghosts. Yang Jian manifested above the city within golden light, dispersed the mist, and banished detected supernatural threats into other supernatural realms. The event was witnessed throughout the city and rapidly became known worldwide 1602.
