Ch. 21Being a Saint since the age of myth

Manigoldo fought the blasphemer, using Soul Burial Wave to turn Elysium against him and gravely wound him. Before the battle could end, an unknown figure dragged the blasphemer through a dimensional passage, and Manigoldo led Wuxin and the others away, warning them that the Holy War would bring more enemies.

  • Manigoldo and the blasphemer clashed in close combat, leaving Manigoldo injured and his Gold Cloth damaged.
  • The blasphemer used Elysium to enchant Manigoldo and the others, but Wuxin restrained Ursa Major Mike while Manigoldo resisted the attack.
  • Manigoldo unleashed Soul Burial Wave, detonating Elysium and severely wounding the blasphemer.
  • As Manigoldo attacked again, a black-armored hand reached through a dimensional passage and dragged the blasphemer away; Manigoldo's Sekishiki failed to stop him.
  • Wuxin, Walter of Canes Venatici, and Ursa Major Mike were relieved the battle had ended, while Manigoldo warned them that more Underworld fighters would appear and urged them to leave.

Ch. 22Becoming a Saint since the Age of Myth

After escaping the Blasphemer, Wuxin and his companions recover in a canyon and speculate that their enemy serves a legitimate god rather than the Underworld. They reach the Sanctuary, where Manigoldo teases Wuxin about Jamir.

  • The Blasphemer complained to his older brother that he could have killed the Saints, but his brother explained that Athena's attention was turning toward him and ordered him to avoid her priestesses.
  • Wuxin, Manigoldo, Walter, and Mike rested in a secluded canyon and discussed the Blasphemer's identity.
  • Wuxin reasoned that the Blasphemer's armor was not a Surplice and suspected he served a legitimate god; Manigoldo agreed they should report their findings to Lady Sasha.
  • After recovering enough to travel, the four crossed the barrier and arrived at the Sanctuary near Athens.
  • Manigoldo teased Wuxin about the Sanctuary being better than Jamir, and Wuxin defended both places.

Ch. 23Being a Saint Since the Age of Myth

After returning to Sanctuary, Wuxin had his reopened wounds healed and learned about the place and its unclaimed Cloths. He met Tenma, the young Pegasus Saint, who objected to being compared with the Pegasus of myth, and Wuxin explained why the legend gave people hope against Hades.

  • Manigoldo took Wuxin to Ophiuchus Odysseus, who healed both of their injuries with Flesh Regeneration and gave them medicine.
  • Wuxin told Manigoldo he planned to cultivate in Sanctuary and enter the Cloth contest; Manigoldo offered to help if he ran into trouble.
  • Wuxin explored Sanctuary and learned about its training grounds, its Saints, and the unclaimed Cloths, deciding to aim for a Silver Cloth.
  • Tenma approached Wuxin, who recognized him as the Pegasus Saint; Tenma insisted he was not the Pegasus of myth.
  • Wuxin told Tenma that the Pegasus legend gave people hope and courage to fight Hades.

Ch. 24Being a Saint since the age of myth

Wuxin encouraged Tenma to live up to the Tenma Constellation myth, then accepted his challenge in the arena. Wuxin gained the upper hand, and Tenma was trapped in a corner by Wuxin’s Sekishiki Meikai Ha.

  • Wuxin told Tenma to turn the myth into reality, and Tenma vowed not to let everyone down.
  • Tenma challenged Wuxin to spar, and the Saints gathered to watch after learning Wuxin had Silver Level strength.
  • Tenma wore his Cloth for the duel, and Wuxin promised to match his speed before countering Tenma’s opening attack.
  • Tenma unleashed Pegasus Ryusei Ken, but Wuxin endured the barrage, escaped underground, and struck Tenma twice.
  • Wuxin used Sekishiki Meikai Ha to drive Tenma into a corner, while the spectators learned Wuxin was Hakurei’s disciple and Manigoldo’s junior fellow disciple.

Ch. 25Becoming a Saint from the Age of Myth

Wuxin defeated Tenma in an arena bout after Tenma broke free of his Sekishiki once but was too exhausted to resist it again. Tenma told Wuxin that Specters had begun infiltrating Sanctuary, while Sanctuary’s leaders remained unable to identify the blasphemer Manigoldo had reported.

  • Tenma broke free of Wuxin’s Sekishiki and resumed the fight with Pegasus Ryusei Ken, but Wuxin dodged and closed in.
  • Wuxin gained the advantage in close combat, struck Tenma after 123 exchanges, and trapped his soul with Sekishiki Meikai Ha to win the bout.
  • Wuxin told Tenma that Altar Hakurei was his teacher and Manigoldo was his senior brother.
  • Tenma warned Wuxin that Specters had infiltrated Sanctuary and killed Apprentice Saints and Bronze Saints.
  • Wuxin and Tenma parted after talking, and Wuxin slept in a stone hut.
  • Manigoldo reported the blasphemer to Sanctuary’s superiors, but they could not identify the hidden presence and set the matter aside.

Ch. 26Becoming a Saint from the Age of Myth

Wuxin worried about the flaws in the Saints’ cultivation system and the frightening speed of his own growth, then discussed Cloth contests and a Specter’s attacks with Taurus Hasgard. The chapter ended with Earth Dark Star Niobe and an accomplice arriving to assassinate Wuxin.

  • Wuxin concluded that Saints relied heavily on mental strength and Cloths to compensate for their cultivation system’s neglect of the body.
  • Wuxin became alarmed by his rapidly accelerating Cosmo growth and the mysterious familiarity he felt with it.
  • Hasgard encouraged Wuxin about the Cloth contest and recognized that Wuxin’s Cosmo had reached the Silver level.
  • Wuxin asked Hasgard about an Apprentice Saint’s assassination, and Hasgard warned him that a hidden Specter might strike again.
  • Wuxin set alarms in his hut, but Earth Dark Star Niobe and an accomplice arrived at night and identified him as their target.

Ch. 27Being a Saint since the age of myth

Wuxin’s alarm foiled a Specter’s attempt to assassinate him, allowing El Cid to kill Terrestrial Darkness Star, though the second attacker escaped. The next morning, Manigoldo checked on Wuxin and took him to spar as he prepared for the Cloth contest.

  • Terrestrial Darkness Star tried to poison Wuxin through a window, but Wuxin’s alarm woke him and drove both attackers to flee.
  • El Cid and the Saints chased Terrestrial Darkness Star toward the sea, where El Cid cut him down before Wuxin arrived.
  • Wuxin told El Cid that he had sensed two attackers, but admitted he could not be certain, and El Cid ordered the search to continue.
  • Manigoldo visited Wuxin the next morning, checked that he was unharmed, and warned him not to underestimate his rivals in the upcoming Cloth contest.
  • Manigoldo offered to spar with Wuxin, then paused at the training grounds to advise Apprentice Saints before sending them away.

Ch. 28Being a Saint since the age of myth

Wuxin sparred with Manigoldo, losing ten rounds but learning lessons about baiting opponents and concealing finishing moves. He then challenged Saints across Sanctuary to build combat experience, and the day of the Cloth contest arrived with most Saints gathered at the arena.

  • Manigoldo removed his Gold Cloth and sparred with Wuxin, matching his strength to Wuxin’s.
  • Manigoldo baited Wuxin into an attack, then used Cancer Pincer Death Grip to throw him into a rock and taught him to draw out an enemy’s opening.
  • Manigoldo struck Wuxin with Sekishiki Meikai Ha before Wuxin could counter, pulling his soul from his body and winning the round.
  • Wuxin lost all ten rounds but learned from Manigoldo’s tactics before they ended their sparring.
  • Wuxin challenged Saints throughout Sanctuary to gain combat experience, and his strength climbed to nearly three hundred thousand times the speed of sound.
  • Most Saints gathered at the arena for the contest for the Cloth.

Ch. 29Being a Saint Since the Age of Myth

Wuxin defeated Saint Candidate number four in the Silver Cloth tournament despite taking a heavy blow and injuring his arms. After Ophiuchus Odysseus healed him, Wuxin returned to the stands to watch number five and number six fight.

  • Wuxin entered the arena to face Saint Candidate number four, while Pope Sage and Sasha praised his growth and training.
  • Number four used Earth Roar and Savage Collision to trap Wuxin in midair and strike him, leaving him badly hurt and exhausted.
  • Wuxin endured the collision, then used Sekishiki Meikai Ha at close range to seize number four’s soul and win the bout.
  • Ophiuchus Odysseus treated Wuxin’s injured arms, and Wuxin returned to the stands as number five and number six fought.

Ch. 30Being a Saint Since the Age of Myth

Wuxin defeated Number One and advanced to the final showdown against Number Two, whose rare dark-attribute powers let him hide and travel through shadows. Wuxin countered Number Two’s first surprise attack, but his Sekishiki Meikai Ha failed to reach Number Two once he retreated into the shadows.

  • Numbers Five and Six withdrew from the contest after their injuries, leaving Wuxin with fewer competitors.
  • Wuxin defeated Number One by countering her Storm Iron Cone and pinning her until the referee declared the match.
  • Number Two defeated Number Four, setting up a final showdown with Wuxin.
  • Manigoldo warned Wuxin not to give Number Two a fatal opening, and Wuxin said he would stay cautious.
  • Wuxin anticipated Number Two’s shadow attack and struck him with an elbow before launching Sekishiki Meikai Ha.
  • Number Two escaped into the shadows, where Wuxin’s Sekishiki could not reach him.

Ch. 31Being a Saint since the age of myth

Wuxin defeated Number Two by capturing his soul with Sekishiki Meikai Ha, despite being pierced by a shadow spear. Number Two then awakened a powerful force within his soul that broke free of Wuxin’s technique and reunited with his body, releasing an aura of death from the Underworld.

  • Wuxin and Number Two remained at a stalemate as both waited for the other to leave the shadows, while the Gold Saints discussed ways to counter the technique.
  • Number Two used two shadow clones to draw Wuxin’s attention before attacking with a spear formed from the shadows.
  • Wuxin endured the spear and struck Number Two’s real body with Sekishiki Meikai Ha, pulling his soul from his body.
  • Number Two lamented his defeat and blamed Wuxin before surrendering to the other self he had suppressed.
  • Number Two’s awakened power shattered Wuxin’s soul-binding technique, reunited his soul with his body, and filled the arena with an aura of death.

Ch. 32Being a Saint Since the Age of Myth

Wuxin defeated Number Two after the latter awakened the power of a Malefic Star, and Manigoldo and the other Gold Saints stopped him from escaping. After the battle, Wuxin was declared the Silver division winner and invited to choose a Cloth, leaving him before twelve silver Cloth boxes.

  • Number Two awakened as a Malefic Star and attacked Wuxin, revealing that he had been one of the Specters present during the earlier assassination attempt.
  • Manigoldo caught Number Two's spear and intervened, while Aries Shion used Crystal Wall to block Number Two's escape through the shadows.
  • Number Two lunged toward Sasha, but Taurus Hasgard and Manigoldo stopped him, and Manigoldo burned him with Demonic Blue Flames.
  • Manigoldo preserved Number Two's corpse so Sanctuary could suppress his resurrection, and the referee declared Wuxin the winner.
  • Pope Sage congratulated Wuxin, and Sasha summoned twelve unclaimed silver Cloths for him to choose from.

Ch. 33Being a Saint since the age of myth

Wuxin failed to win any of the twelve Silver Cloths until the Crateris Cloth abandoned Baker and chose him. To settle who would become its owner, Sasha and Pope Sage ordered Wuxin and Baker to fight in one hour.

  • Wuxin's Cosmo failed to awaken any of the twelve Cloths, leaving him unable to claim a Silver Cloth.
  • The Crateris Cloth left Baker, reassembled as a silver cup, and flew to Wuxin after resonating with his Cosmo.
  • Baker leaped into the arena and angrily demanded the Crateris Cloth, while Wuxin took a defensive stance.
  • Pope Sage proposed a contest to decide the Cloth's owner, and Sasha reluctantly approved the ruling.
  • Manigoldo stopped Baker and Wuxin from fighting immediately and warned them that Saints could not kill each other in Sanctuary.
  • Sasha announced that Wuxin and Baker would fight for the Crateris Cloth in one hour, and both accepted.

Ch. 34Being a Saint Since the Age of Myth

Wuxin recovered enough from his earlier wound to face Baker in the contest for the Crateris Cloth. Baker’s layered ice attacks culminated in a surprise punch that broke Wuxin’s ribs, and he raised his fist for another blow.

  • Ophiuchus Odysseus healed Wuxin’s wound to roughly eighty percent and warned him to protect the fragile area.
  • Wuxin returned to the arena, where Baker insisted the Crateris Cloth belonged to him and accused Wuxin of using an evil spell.
  • Pope Sage and Sasha agreed that Baker seemed mentally shaken and that someone should speak with him after the match.
  • Baker used Frozen Earth to hem Wuxin in, but Wuxin’s Demonic Blue Flames stopped the advancing ice.
  • Baker followed with Ice Spear White Lotus and concealed himself among the falling spears before ambushing Wuxin, breaking several of his ribs.
  • Baker called Wuxin an unwanted nuisance and raised his fist to strike again.

Ch. 35Being a Saint since the age of myth

Wuxin defeated Baker with Sekishiki Meikai Ha and received the Crateris Silver Cloth from Sasha, becoming the new Crateris Silver Saint. After recovering from his injuries, he began communicating with the Cloth to learn its abilities.

  • Wuxin caught Baker at close range and used Sekishiki Meikai Ha to pull his soul from his body, winning the duel.
  • The referee declared Wuxin the winner, and Baker left the arena after his soul returned to his body.
  • Sasha awarded Wuxin the Crateris Silver Cloth, which boosted his mental power, Cosmo, and protection.
  • Wuxin celebrated with Tenma and the other Saints, then went to Odysseus for treatment of his injuries.
  • After resting for several days, Wuxin communicated with the Cloth's spirit and began learning its special abilities.

Ch. 36Being a Saint from the Age of Myth

Wuxin considered the Crateris Cloth’s abilities and resolved to save the Pisces Gold Saint as the Holy War drew closer. He climbed the Sacred Mountain to ask Manigoldo for help learning ice techniques, but Manigoldo dismissed the idea and urged him to focus on the power of death.

  • Wuxin learned that the Crateris Cloth could preserve only its previous bearer’s imprint and could create Moonlight Holy Water that healed external injuries.
  • Three days later, three Silver Saints sent back under Underworld control attacked Sasha, and Sanctuary dispatched Libra Dohko and Aries Shion to investigate in Italy.
  • Wuxin worried that the Underworld’s advance attack could soon kill the Pisces Gold Saint, and he resolved to try to save him.
  • On the way to the Cancer Temple, Wuxin met Taurus Hasgard, who was patrolling Sanctuary because Specters had become more active.
  • Wuxin asked Manigoldo to introduce him to Aquarius Dégel so he could learn ice techniques from the Crateris imprint.
  • Manigoldo argued that Wuxin should focus on mastering the power of death instead, and Wuxin challenged his boast that their blue flames could burn away ice.

Ch. 37Being a Saint since the age of myth

Wuxin persuaded Sisyphus to consider strengthening Sanctuary’s defenses as the Holy War approached, then reached the Aquarius Temple with Manigoldo to ask Dégel for guidance in mastering ice. The chapter ended with Wuxin making his request to Dégel.

  • Manigoldo reconsidered his confidence in his techniques after Wuxin warned him about the legendary previous Aquarius and explained that skill depended on the person using it.
  • Wuxin urged Manigoldo to support stronger patrols, and Sisyphus overheard them at the Sagittarius Temple.
  • Wuxin proposed that Gold Saints patrol in pairs because powerful enemies such as the 108 Malefic Stars and the Defiler threatened Sanctuary.
  • Sisyphus praised Wuxin’s proposal and promised to relay it to His Holiness.
  • Manigoldo introduced Wuxin to Dégel at the Aquarius Temple, where Wuxin asked for guidance in mastering the power of ice.

Ch. 38Being a Saint from the Age of Myth

Dégel agreed to teach Wuxin the basics of ice and began training him to freeze a pool, while Wuxin worked out how to draw heat from water quickly enough. Meanwhile, Sage ordered the Gold Saints to patrol in pairs, and the new teams were formed.

  • Dégel warned Wuxin that studying ice alongside death could divide his efforts, but agreed to teach him for three days after Wuxin explained ice would remain a secondary discipline.
  • Dégel explained that ice formed as water lost heat, then assigned Wuxin the task of freezing the entire pool in his training room.
  • Wuxin began extracting Cosmo from the water and realized he had to do so faster than the water absorbed Cosmo from the surrounding air.
  • Sisyphus relayed Wuxin's suggestion to Sage, who ordered all Gold Saints to patrol in pairs and watch each other's backs.
  • The Gold Saints discussed the order and formed their new teams.

Ch. 39Becoming a Saint Since the Age of Myth

Wuxin mastered the basics of ice power, learned Frozen Earth and Ice Spear White Lotus from the Crateris Cloth's imprint, and received an urgent summons to the Pope's Hall. The chapter left him heading to learn why Lady Sasha and His Holiness wanted to see him.

  • Dégel taught Wuxin to create a heat-absorbing medium and explained how it produced freezing effects even without water.
  • Wuxin left the Aquarius Temple, settled near the sea, and used his Cosmo to imitate water and freeze part of the sea.
  • After nearly seven days of training, Wuxin mastered freezing air and learned Frozen Earth and Ice Spear White Lotus from the Crateris Cloth's imprint.
  • Manigoldo urgently summoned Wuxin to the Pope's Hall because Lady Sasha and His Holiness wanted to see him.

Ch. 40Becoming a Saint Since the Age of Myth

Wuxin learned that Alone had awakened as Hades and left Tenma near death, with Tenma’s soul cast into the Underworld. Sasha and Sage assigned Wuxin to rescue him and gather material for a Demon-Subduing Rosary, but the divine Soapberry tree would only bear fruit when stimulated by Pegasus’s Cosmo.

  • Wuxin saw Aries Shion dejected and found the Libra Cloth badly damaged as he passed through the Golden Temples.
  • Sasha and Sage told Wuxin that Alone had awakened as Hades, destroyed his town, and cast Tenma’s soul into the Underworld.
  • Sage asked Wuxin to enter the Underworld and rescue Tenma, and Wuxin accepted the mission.
  • Sage revealed that a divine messenger had given Sanctuary instructions for making a Demon-Subduing Rosary to prevent Specters from resurrecting.
  • Sage explained that the rosary required fruit from the divine Soapberry tree near Hell’s Great Waterfall of Blood, and that only Pegasus’s Cosmo could make it bear fruit.
