Personality

Jun Ling is proud, domineering, and intolerant of defiance. When Mu Yunxi repeatedly rejects him, he uses overwhelming pressure against her and briefly imagines breaking her resolve. He abandons that thought because her resistance is precisely what interests him 33.

His attraction develops into concern, admiration, and a desire for companionship. Watching Mu Yunxi fight, he considers that sharing his long, lonely life with her might be pleasant. Her danger provokes an unfamiliar degree of panic, while her hatred visibly hurts him 35 44 45.

His protectiveness does not mean he respects her boundaries. He repeatedly threatens or forces kisses, restrains her against her wishes, and kisses her while she is unconscious. His jealousy also extends to Xuanyuan Jin and even Mu Zhantian when Mu Yunxi affectionately holds her grandfather’s arm 32 36 38 41 45.

Pursuit at the Mu Residence

Jun Ling appears before Mu Yunxi as a dangerous silver-masked figure. During a later hot-spring encounter, she throws him into the water after he kisses her. He punishes Mo Li and Mo Yan for having seen her shoulders and feet, then enters her bed that night 23 32.

When he again tries to kiss her, Mu Yunxi escapes into the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Realm. Unable to detect her, he becomes intrigued by her secrets and her repeated ability to evade him 33.

Zhu Clan Confrontation

Jun Ling watches Mu Yunxi fight the Zhu Clan from concealment. He prepares to intervene against Zhu Yueshan, but Mu Zhantian arrives before he acts 35.

After Mu Yunxi exhausts herself treating Mu Yunmo and collapses from her own injuries, Jun Ling catches her and administers a healing pill. He forces her to swallow it through a kiss, then continues kissing her while she remains unconscious 38.

Securing the Origin-Reforming Pill Ingredients

Jun Ling offers the Azure Dragon Ginseng but refuses to sell it. After initially demanding Mu Yunxi herself in exchange, he accepts her proposal to wipe the slate clean between them. He orders the herb delivered despite Mo Li’s warning that it is needed to save his life 42.

He then waits at the Mystic Heaven Demon Forest entrance and follows her inside, claiming that it is on his way 42.

Heavenly Demon Pearl Crisis

When the pearl flares prematurely, Jun Ling prevents Mu Yunkai from striking the incapacitated Mu Yunxi and orders his attendants to kill him. Mo Yan also kills Mu Yunyi 44 45.
