Gong Chenying is the only daughter of Tianli Clan leader Gong Shanhe. Her mother, a Golden Core cultivator, died in a Wind Beast tide a year after Gong Chenying was born. Gong Shanhe never remarried, instead devoting himself to cultivation and the defense of the clan. 1023

At ten years old, she traveled from the Wind God Continent to the Barren Moon Continent with a Tianli elder's friend and became a disciple of Small Bamboo Peak.
